Does God allow ghost or spirits visit us?

   I often feel like my Grandmother is still here with me, walking the halls and just being near. Is this allowed by GOD?

      I'm not quite sure how to word my answer so I'll tackle your question first. The answer is no. God does not "allow" it, not exactly. While most Christians would probably tell you something weird about how Satan is possessing you, or you're a demon, etc.- I will not. What I will say is that we are the ones who allow spirits in. But, since you feel that it is your grandmother (and assuming she was saved) she very well may be near you. But not as a spirit or ghost dear, she is an angel- and that is perfectly allowable.       There is nothing in the Bible that says you are allowed to believe in ghosts or not.
      
      Of course, only children believe in ghosts.

      If you believe in ghosts and you believe in an all-powerful God, then I guess you have to believe that God "allows" them to exist. 
      
      Or are you asking if your belief in ghosts is allowed by God? If you believe that God made you and endowed you with a capacity for independent thought, then he must logically "allow" you to have a belief in ghosts since that is a product of your thought processes.

      Simply put, "no".
      
      But "why" according to the bible is more interesting. I mean, God forbade us from talking with "familiar spirits" way back in Leviticus. But, Like a lot of "Old Testament" law, things kind of get mixed up. It kind of leaves things open-ended for the Christian who believes, in error, that the entire Mosaic Law was abolished.
      
      And for what? So you can eat a bowl full of bacon-wrapped scallops, while playing the oija board? Certainly not.
      
      In 2nd Corinthians, chapter 11, we get this:
      14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
      15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
      
      God isn't telling us to not talk to "familiar spirits" that look or sound like grandma, because He is a tyrant and wants us to be unhappy! He tells us not to, because this leads to doubting what God said: Grandma isn't wandering around, worried about what you're doing. She's in God's loving care, and even she knows you're safe in His hands. She has no reason to come visit you, God has it all under control. Trust Him.
      
      Familiar spirits are nothing more than fallen angels, pretending to be someone they are not. They do it in this very manner you mention, because the mere appearance of a relative, or any ghost really, automatically puts the bible into question. What better do evil spirits have to do than deceive humans with their spare time? It isn't like they have to sleep or eat. They are relentless in their attempts to spiritually discredit the bible.
      
      Next time, rebuke the spirit in the name of Jesus Christ, and mean it. Don't fool around with this, it is not a friendly or platonic paranormal experience.

      Yes, I beleve He does allow spirits to visit us.  If you see a spirit, it's because they need our prayers.  Once a person dies they cannot pray for themselves and rely on us to pray for them.

            Thanks for yur question. There are good and evil spirits. The evil spirits are fallen angels.  But im mostly talkin about dead souls who have nt crossed over. If we happen to see the spirit of a deceased person we once knew its because they are in purgatory and need our prayers to reach heaven. I have read many real stories of mystics like maria simma who were visited by these dead souls askin her to pray for them. The saint padre pio also was constantly visited by the dead holy souls askin him to pray for them and after he offered masses for them they appeared to him in some sort of light tellin him they have gone to heaven

   Bible says no. The dead sleep and await resurrection.
   2 Samuel 12:23   But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.
   There are so many examples of the dead knowing nothing
   1 Samuel 2:6   The LORD killeth, and maketh alive: he bringeth down to the grave, and bringeth up.
   Job 7:9   As the cloud is consumed and vanisheth away: so he that goeth down to the grave shall come up no more.
   Psalms 6:5   For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks?
   Ecclesiastes 9:10   Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goes.
     John 11:11   These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleeps; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.
     John 11:14   Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.
   
   Jesus described death as sleep. We know there is a resurrection.
   If you believe the bible then you have your answer.

   The Bible tells us, "Absent the body, present with Jesus," if one is saved.  I have seen a glimpse into the unseen realm, and I am talking about angels and demons.  There are a lot of unexplained happenings in this world, so as far as "ghosts," as the Bible does not speak to that subject, as when we die we are going to either one of two places for eternity, as we are eternal beings, I do not believe in ghosts, but could be an angel or demon spirits.  They are all around us in the unseen realm.

      2 Corinthians 5:8   We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
      Willing rather to be absent from the body and willing rather to be present with the lord. When we look at when that will come we find that the only present with the lord will be at resurrection.
      The bible speaks about false practitioners of which have familiar spirits:
      Leviticus 19:31   Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God.
      Deuteronomy 18:11   Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
      If these things were true the bible would admonish as such but God has these things removed because they are lies and falseness.
      Isaiah 8:19   And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God?

   God is the creator of all. He gave his life for us that we may eternal life. We have souls and a choice to accept what He tells us in His word or to deny and be condemned to hell. There is no walking among us when we die. When a body is dead it is dead until the Lord comes back to serve judgement on us. Ephesians 5:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 2 Corinthians 6:7
   Ephesians 5:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

   No. there is only one Spirit, undivided.
   The ministering spirits, called angels, are still of the one Spirit undivided.
   A man cannot see nor hear the dead, who's spirit//seed of life//breathe of life, has returned to the source, which is the Spirit, from which it came. Any who claim otherwise deceive themselves and accept the doctrines about things called demons, sorcerers and such.

   If your grandmother is visiting you than obviously "God" is allowing it.  If you believe the Bible suggests she ought not to be doing that then either you're being visited by some kind of inhuman spiritual force masquerading as your grandma, or you need to rethink what you believe about the Bible. 
   
   Maybe there are other truths in the universe you need to consider.
   
   Or maybe you're just still grieving and you need to feel the closeness of you relative to cope.

   It is just not as clear as many state.
   
   First, the bible has several references that the departed have some degree of knowledge of what goes on, still have interests even with people left on earth, and can communicate amongst themselves.
   
   The clearest ones are the martyred saints who beseach God in revelation for justice. Clearly they are not asleep, clearly they are aware of things on earth to some extent, and clearly they have goals.
   
   Another famous case is the rich man and Abraham carrying on a conversation. Many people point out the gulf "between us" of which Abraham speaks. Us, in that case is a guy in hell or maybe hades and another guy who is for sure in paradise. Adding anything else to that adds to what scripture says there.
   
   The man goes on to ask if someone else in heaven can go talk to his relatives about how bad hell is. Now, Abraham does NOT repeat that this is impossible, he says that if the relatives don't believe the prophets the requested warning would not do any good.
   
   So, doesn't really say either way as to people in heaven going to regular earth. Probably not, but not definite.
   
   Other passages give hints. The apostles themselves speak of ghosts, and Jesus doesn't tell them ghosts don't exists, he gives them facts demonstrating he isn't a ghost.
   
   Then, there is the communion of the saints and the cloud of witness. Some spiritual connection must still exist, the nature of it being beyond our present understanding.
   
   The most often sited case is the witch of endor. Now the prohibition here is very clear. But what exactly was done that was so bad?  King Saul whom God was already mad at, sought out an actual witch for an act of actual necromancy. He got her to raise Samuel from the dead to get him to predict the future for him.
   
   That act is not the same thing as a greiving person to asking God for the blessing of a little visit in a dream or something else. Does God frown on that, too? I am nowhere near wise enough to know. But asking God himself for this grace for this reason is a different thing. It's God, he gets to do what he wants for his own reasons. Must be incredibly rare, if at all.
   
   Now what other returns have we been told about. Jesus was seen talking to Moses and Elijah by the apostles. There is a big debate on whether or not spirits hang around earth or go to heaven. I think maybe they do go to heaven and maybe once in a while God's will could send them on missions. This is a view that Thomas Aquinas wrote about.
   
   Finally, there is the warning from St. John to test the spirits. Now, if ALL spirits were demonic, there would not be much point to testing them would there? Go look it up, how does it say to test?
   
   I don't know either way, of course. Like everything, know them by their fruits. Does it lead you to more faith and obediance to the basic tenets? If not, that's a warning sign.
   
   I spend my time praying the basics prayer for forgiveness from Jesus and that my loved ones have already been saved. I say thy will, not mine, and I would be grateful for whatever blessings of comfort regarding my loved ones you can give me. I also emphasise the publican lament.
