   In Ephesians 6:11,12 the Apostle Paul tells us, "Put on the whole armor of God,that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.  For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood,but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places."  As believers we fight a spirtual battle. We are told to gird our waist with truth, put on the breast plate of righteousness, have our feet shod with the preparation of the Gospel of peace, and taking the shield of faith to quench the fiery darts of the wicked one. Also put on the helmet of salvation and take up the sword of the spirit. Yes there are demon spirits among us.

   There are a lot. I would like to write more but from my experience of Religious post on HP - people will only make sarcastic comments.
   
   I notice Born_Again's answer is marked down but she is 100% correct in what she stated.

   Yes. We are at war. We are being tempted. The fallen angles are not sitting in hell waiting for us to join them. They are rather active entities. They approach us in many different ways and they are just as determined to cause us pain as God is to love us. Actually the more God loves us the more active they want to be. There is a lot of proof but this will definately take a hub to answer in full. I did want to say one thing to Lady_E.
   This is not a mean comment, it is meant to encourage you. Do not be silenced. That is what we are fighting against. Show your faith. YES- it will not be greeted with all open arms. It may even hurt to read some of the responses but it can not be worse then what Christ went through. For that matter, one of the greats- Paul- at the begining of his life would have been writing those sarcastic, pursecuting remarks. Step out. God is there to catch you when we people are cruel. Good Luck. Have Faith. Demons hate that.

   There is more to the life than the physical and tangiable we can see and feel. I believe that you can only come to terms with this or accecpt this fact if you are informed or if you have have some type of tangiable proof. However we do not have to look very far for tangiable proof. If we consider films like harry potter for instance, its very  strange how a once upon a time taboo subject is now accepted and openly embraced by society. We should stop for a second and consider what are the sources or forces behind. We should also consider What does it encourage or promote. A wise man once told me behind every rumor ther is an element of truth.. So are there demon spirits among us ?? I belive so.

   Spirits of all different kinds, and most that we don't understand? Yes.
   
   Demon spirits? Maybe.
   
   Are they all demon spirits? Not even close - would you consider the ghost of your most beloved relative to be a demon?  I wouldn't.
   
   I think this whole focus on "demon spirits" - recently and in the past - is just a way for people to shift blame for bad and downright repulsive behavior from themselves off on some supernatural force, instead of being the adult they are supposed to be and taking personal responsibility for their own actions.

   Yep! I've had personal experiences with this realm.
   
   Not so much now, but at night, I used to have experiences where something was holding me down. I couldn't move or talk. When I finally managed to yell out, “In Jesus' name. . .” is when “it” would disappear.
   
   I told my friend about the incident and she said, she's never had any similar experiences, but she knew someone who did and she said it had something to do with the spirits of Incubus and Succubus.
   
   Then there was another experience when I was renting out a room with this lady and wasn't home at the time. The lady said her dog started barking and backing up down the hallway as if someone was coming in. She thought it was me, but when she looked out into the hallway and into my room, no one was there.
   
   And I also mentioned this incident to another lady who was renting a room at the time – also a Christian – and told her how scared I was, she got SO mad for letting that fear overwhelm me. She told me that I should end all of my prayers with, “In Jesus' name.”    
   
   There's authority and power in the name of Jesus. EVERY KNEE bows and WILL bow to Him!!! I never knew that was such important thing to do, but was the best thing I've ever heard in my life!!! It was such a comforting thing to know!
   
   But, it's a realm that's very real, though, and I try cover myself with prayer every day. I also have a prayer book called, “Prayers That Rout Demons” by John Eckhardt.
