does asking people to pray after a disaster make sense
why would a person think praying helps if the disaster has already happened. people are always saying things like "pray for the victims" if praying actually worked why would the disaster have happened in the first place.
Of course praying after a disaster makes sense. Satan not God created the disaster. When 911 happened in New York we prayed that people trapped in the rubble the aftermath, might be found alive and well not dead. Each time there is a disaster happen, we pray for survivors to be found and safe.
Look at it this way, if your home caught fire or was struck by a tornado, wouldn't you pray that your family was still somehow alive and safe or are you the kind of person who would wish them dead??
Brother Dave.
Life is going to happen whether we pray or not. Praying helps ease the mind of the ones doing the praying and gives them a feeling of 'doing something' for their fellow man.
Sometimes people pray that the victims find strength to deal with it, to help themselves, to survive. There are many prayers that people say, if it makes people feel better, why complain?
Prayers not going to help in dead's. Once we live our life and once we want to live it well, that is when we need prayers. Prayers there to communicate with our Father, and we do that in happiness and in sadness, sometime do that without a reason but to thank Him for all the Love He has given to us. When ever we pray, we know that we needs the love of our father, those who pray will have to joy of pray, those who pray for their needs wants relationships, might disappointed with what God offer to them, because it is now how we should pray.
It is make sense to pray when ever you needs to pray... It is what we do with our living God to give us energy to mingle and to live according to the spirit, it is not miracles we should expect, but life.
you should pray all the time. disaster or now. pray is fellowship with God and if people would do that more it will be way less disaster. just think how many more it could be if the people who do fellowship with God every day didn't pray every day to look over there love one
Dave Mathews. no i wouldn't pray if my home caught on fire. but how does that mean i would wish them dead, you have me confused. what i was asking is if your god is so great and powerful how did the disaster happen in the first place. if he wasn't there to stop it how is praying going to help later. do you actually believe that "god" is going to help save people, seriously?
After disasters, people will need to cope with loss and they will have to re-build and restore themselves to normal living conditions. All this takes effort and resources which may not be available. Look at New Orleans, they are having difficulty restoring from the effects of Katrina.
Prays to here can help overcome these challenges.
During the Great Flood God killed an estimated 20,000,000. And then in Sodom and Gomorah he killed at least 2,000. And then the Bible goes on with His further killings. So pray and ask for forgiveness for He is a bloodthirsty, merciless Lord! He is like an invisible omnipotent Hannibal Lector.
I guess people find comfort on it feeling they are doing something to help while actually not.
Free Coloring Pages Prayer Has Great Power to teach children to always pray to God. Praying according to God's will is to pray for things that honor and glorify God or to pray for things that the Bible clearly reveals God's will. If we pray for something that does not honor God or not God's will for our lives, God will not give us what we ask. How do we know what the will of God? God promises to give us wisdom when we ask.
