In one sentence, please tell us what gift religion/spirituality has taught you.

You may use more words to describe this sentence. I don't expect anyone to sum up their relationship or religion/spirituality in one sentence. I was just looking for beautiful words to use to reflect on. For example, mine would be - "I see the Divine in everything and everyone - and cherish that presence; Life is sacred." But I may feel I need more words to elaborate on that. Thank you for sharing your thoughts  - I would like to write a hub of these and turn them into mantras.

Can you be taught a Gift? My giftings are what eventually teach me on how to negotiate the spiritual journey I am on and, also there are spiritual gifts that we are to take on in our walk of faith and participate in them and allow God through his precious Spirit exercise them. Life in itself is a gift, and we can be a gift to others, unfortunatly many never comprehend this and therefore relinquish their life. One of my most precious gifts now, is joy; speaking from someone who suffered with depression until I was 42; (14 yrs ago) when God's gift to me at that time was freedom. Thank you for this opportunity to share with you.

Religion has taught me to respect and appreciate life, perceiving intuitively that God deeply loves me and in order to show my appreciation I need to listen to His teachings in His Holy Bible. I believe The Holy Bible is the inspired word of God created by God’s holy saints to reach a lost world that is in desperate need of Him.

Hmm, It has taught me to repect my fellow humans, animals and other creatures. It has also taught me to discipline and shape my life so much that others feel comfortable living with me and see me as their keeper. This gives me some level of security too knowing that same will happen to the other person there.

We are all connected and guided by a power greater than ourselves.

I had an experience at the age of 25 that drove this home. In that moment I absolutely knew we were all connected.   I'll have to write a hub about it.  wink

We are all responsible for filling our own lives and souls with beauty and grace.  In other words, no matter what the world throws at you, only you have the power to accept, love and forgive.  Fortunately there are many religions and philosophies available to help us hone these skills!

I have learned that the next person in your life is more important than yourself, to do something else for somebody would be as important to puts God Word into action, for actions speak louder than words; Faith without works is dead.
