There's the classic attributed to him. Once he was asked his opinion of Western Civilization. He reportedly said, "I think that would be a good idea."

A principle is the expression of perfection, and as imperfect beings like us cannot practise perfection, we devise every moment limits of its compromise in practice.

I am really glad so many people have responded here. Gandhi still holds value and reverence!

My favorite is this (I write this from my memory; so the original wordings may not be exact. I am only conveying the gist):

"If you find any contradiction in any of my earlier statements or opinions I made in the past to that I make in the recent times, please take my recent one as valid. Since I am constantly evolving and maturing I am able to grasp Satyam (truth) better as I age and hence my present stand is going to be definitely more correct."

Do not lose faith in humanity; for it is like the ocean. If a few drops of dust falls into the ocean, the ocean does not become dirty. Yes that is my favorite quote.  He is surely the man! Lovely question!

Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.

When I despair, I remember that all through history
the way of truth and love has always won. There have been tyrants and murderers and for a time they seem invincible but in the end, they always fall -- think of it, ALWAYS.

Gandhi was a racist! He disliked blacks!
    Why even consider his comments?
    Study his life and history.

Every person on earth has dealt with a hurtful breakup at the very least once in their life. What is also harder is moving on after a break-down. That's the moment when people try numerous things that could aid them move ahead very easily and with much less ache. Other folks do their very best to repair things up and have their ex-darling back again; others remain buddies hoping that everything will probably be the exact same as before. Having said that, being able to see that individual every day after the break-down could make the pains cure considerably slower or not heal at all. You actually maintain all of the wounds wide open and whenever you observed that individual you stop the healing procedure.
