is there any one thing that makes you shake your head concerning religion?
what is it about religion that makes you wonder why the heck people actually fall for it.
It is only a stepping stone for human beings to know and walk with GOD moment by moment. I know and walk with GOD and was given the honor by GOD to give me a vision of the other side of death on August 1, 1982 A.D. a Sunday morning. Thank you.
I look at it this way, to me it isn't about religion so much as asking yourself; do you believe Jesus died on the cross for your sins? Religion to me is full of politics. Everyone jockying for a postion to be right in their beliefs. It is easy for some to take for granted what people tell them. For others, they may question everything so much that they miss out in something special. (That can be applied to other areas of their life besides religion.)
To become a Christian is the belief that God exists and Jesus died on the cross for your sins. I think there is an issue about not trusting in the consept that God created the world. People will always disagree with each other about religion and belief. When I write my hubs on this topic, I always tell my readers to search out the truth for themselves. You never know what you may find out along the way. I don't believe in forcing someone to believe the same as I do. They may have a point of view that I missed.
Sorry if I haven't helped you much, but I can say this. I find it interesting to read about why people bash the idea of religion more so than what is wrong with it. Is it a fear thing or just being over rated?
I believe in God and dedicated my life to him because I experienced things that showed me that God and Satan exist.
If there is an omnipotent god, which I doubt, then he knows everything, especially what is in our brains and hearts, therefore the whole hierarchy of religiious instituitions is a con to maintain control over the population.
Yes, the idea that a man or woman could know the mind of God, or what God would want any given person to do, and giving absolute statements concerning such things bothers me.
Why do people fall for it? We are social creatures, churches are social clubs. Having a faith or belief system is comforting, but only because it generally provides either the answers for you(without you having to think about anything), or it provides a self appointed mouth piece for the mind of God to answer the tough questions.
I have all kinds of faith in God, but my interpretations of scriptures do not fit into the mold of "Christian," and I do not go to church either; and for the same reason. I even hesitate to call myself a "Christian," for the stigma of the term. That does not mean, however, that my views of the Bible are not sane, reasonable, very well thought out; and capable of getting me burned at the stake in certain places in time.
What I shake my head about is how so many people can be deceived...especially the Islamic Faith. How can you not see and know there is a God! And how can you not realize Muhammad was a false prophet...it's all in his own words... you can judge a tree by the fruits it bears... and his tree sure brought forth rotten fruit!
I shake my head but realize these people have been deceived for so long and it's sad to me! I shake my head at all the people who say there is no God...for it is so sad! How do you claim the one who created all things doesn't exist! To me, it is so disrespectful!
However, I do believe it is everyone's choice to believe whatever they want! But that doesn't change the fact that belief or not doesn't change reality!
everything about religion makes me shake my head in a negative way because
Religion is hate
Religion is fear
Religion is war
Religion is rape
Religion's obscene
Religion's a whore
i wrote the same answer for a different question asked in hubpages
I'm smart enough to know that early people had little knowledge and were superstitious. So the evil of religion evolved but it was started and has been maintained by people who want to control others.
Religion is all about mind control and keeping power. Constantine recognized that Christianity was an excellent means of mind control over multiple gods and adopted the Christian faith to try to keep the empire together.
Religion is about using the ignorance and fears of people to keep them in control. Most are brainwashed into religion as children... they knew not what they were getting into.
Teaching religion to a child is child abuse of the worst kind.
That really irks me.
People think it is fashionable, and yet it is man's attempt to get to God, which could be sincerely wrong. Instead of religion, why don't they try out the real thing, the ultimate relationship with God. Religion indeed puts many off
Humankind always needed to believe in something more superior than its own condition. Before Jesus,Allah,Yahve, etc, has been the god of water, sun, crops, etc. All coming from our need to find answers and direction for our existance.
Absolute focus on Religion, the legalistic approach, makes me want to shake my head. Everyone is SOOOO focused on denomination which divides and destroys, that people can't focus on God. God is love, and that love should be emulated to our brethren. The focus on God generates love, peace, harmony, happiness, and other extensive "emotional adjectives!"

What do you think about Religion?Does Religion help us improve our everyday life, or is it just a matter of belief to a higher being?

Okay, I've really taken an interest in the forums for the last few days as I need something to keep my mind off of something. I've noticed a few things and came up with a few theories on HubPages groupthink. Thought it be fun to test them out, so here goes:I, technically, am a Unitarian...
