I would say because he/she/it does not exist.  Life is god.

God does reveal "Himself" to the people.
I used your word"Himself", although,it is not the correct way.
    I have personal experience.

I think that one of the reasons God doesn't usually reveal Himself physically is so that we'll be able to develop faith.  Here in life, we have to learn to trust and love God, even when we can't see Him.  Learning to be obedient to God and learning to live by faith are two of the biggest reasons why we were sent to Earth in the first place.

Have you ever heard the phrase "God has no hands but ours"?

Every time you commit yourself to an act of kindness, you are seeing "God" revealed. It's just that some people don't know it.

Um... Didn't you read the story of Saul, later known as Paul? God revealed himself to him in a great light...and Paul was blinded. He can reveal Himself physically if he wants to, but there's always a reason for it and a purpose. One thing's for sure, you won't see his face, but you will read His word and you will feel His presence, and he will touch your soul, and he will do physical things that will also affect your spirit, without him having to show his physical form (which is Jesus).

Maybe he doesn't do it because there's enough proof in the sky to reveal how real he is.
