Yeah, yeah, yeah I know "public speaking" , but really what is your GREATEST fear?
Army ants...those thinks freak me out man! Check them out. Google it!
My greatest fear is being trapped in a car that is falling off a bridge into water. I've had some pretty intense nightmares about it. I've started to think that maybe that means something and I will really die that way.
large spiders and unnecessary debt, such as overdrafts, credit cards and store cards.
Water. I used to love it but now I can't even go into a kiddie pool without fearing for my life--in all seriousness. I used to be an amazing swimmer and I used to be able to spend hours in the water, i could hold my breath for ever and there was never a time I didn't want to swim. One day though it all changed and I don't even know why :\
Fear of heights! :-) Jump school; air assault school; massive cliff rappelling during mountain operations training - nothing has fixed it yet - I still get scared like a little girl when I get on a ladder. :-) I get vertigo watching movies that have skyscraper or mountain climbing scenes. Guess it's in my blood ...
Emotions play an important part in our daily lives. Fear is one such emotion that is pre-programmed into all animals and people as an instinctual response to potential danger. haa well my greatest fear woooooop scary snakes.
I'm proud of myself -- introvert that I am, public speaking is no longer listed among my fears (that said, I did get a nasty case of the shakes right after completing my first video tutorial even though all it has of me on there is my voice).
Greatest fear, aside from losing members of my immediate family -- that something will happen and the only way I will be able to sustain my family is by re-entering the "9-5" world and go back to being an employee. I shudder just thinking about it. Seriously, it would scare me less if hostile invading forces drove me and my family into the mountains and we had to live off the land and seek out caves or dense thickets for shelter.
The ocean....I feel defenseless. Sharks are a big part of that.

i truly fear flying cockroaches.. . every woman ought to be scared with that lol
seriously I'm scared of going home one day without anybody in the house as though I was deserted; I don't wanna be alone
My greatest fear is becoming engulfed by a deep depression that completely strips my zest for life and wanting to live.
My greatest fear is this: What if when you die, then it's like turning the tv off; you're done. It's over, no soul, no spirit, no after life, no heaven - nothing. You are completely erased from this planet, the universe, the galaxies, everything.
The fact that there will always be something there. You can die but life will exsists some where in the galaxy.

How can a person get over the fear of speaking in public? At my new job, it is my duty to run groups lasting 45 minutes to an hour. I am addressing people in recovery in a rehab. I am in recovery myself, so you'd think I would instinctively know what to say, but not so! I cannot seem to get over my...

I'm a newbie on here and I saw this as a discussion area. I have taken several public speaking courses and sort of studied the way people feel about it. I read an interesting statistic that in this world, people's #1 fear is public speaking. 2nd to that is death. Pretty interesting stuff in my...
