What do souls do in Heaven?

   If Heaven exists, what do you think -- or hope -- it's like? 
   
   You have no physical body so you can't spend eternity having sex or playing video games or posting to forums. So what will you be doing to occupy your forever?
   
   Also, if your "soulmate" went to the Hell, will you be pining away for her or him forever? What an eternal bummer that would be; not very heavenly at all...

      Heaven is s dimension of One where there is no time and it is a state of absolute biss.
      You will not feel the need to have sex or play video games  as its very different from the dimension we live in.

      If you have no physical body, you don't yearn for things like sex or video games or beer. And I can imagine that your able to anything you can imagine, being all free in the cosmos with no physical body to distract you . . . and I don't think your soulmate will be in Hell. Unless, of course, that's where we're all going.

      Christains believe they will be there at the throne of Jesus, singing his praises and all.  I believe in God, but I don't understand either.  All the hymns I heard about mansions of silver and gold and streets paved in gold.  How can it be enjoyed?  Guess we will have to wait and see.

   Souls don't go to Heaven after death.  They remain dead.  The whole concept of souls going to heaven after death is a mainstream Christian teaching.

      Hmm. I don't know if the concept of "Heaven" is limited to Christian teachings. Regardless I still wanna know what people think goes on in Heaven, or in any other after-life existence, if such things do exist. I wanna know what to pack before I leave.
      
      BTW, are you're saying "souls" exist? What are they? Are they physical objects? If not, how can they die?

         The concept of the soul going to Heaven actually originated with the pagans, (Irony!)  So, I'm of the belief that the whole Heaven thing isn't limited to mainstream Christianity.
         
         Yes,  I do believe souls exist,  We as humans are living souls.

            If I'm not mistaken, isn't Jesus' birthday (12/25) actually a pagan holiday? I believe the date was chosen by Christians to sort of detract from the pagan celebrations that day.
            
            Then again, I might be full of hooey.
            
            Anyway, I guess you figure death is IT, yes? The end? That's all, folks! No reincarnation of any kind?
            
            I'm kind of hoping we get recycled. Coming back as a spoiled house cat sounds pretty good. Except the menu sucks. I'm not big on the idea of eating fish or liver or a blend of the unknown that's labeled "Feast". But the crunchy treats might not be too bad with milk.
            
            Guess I'll have to specify that I want to come back as a spoiled house cat that belongs to a gourmet chef. Eh, not a Chinese chef though. I don't want to be a new recipe...

                 Actually  the 25 is not Jesus's birthday, the Christians back then wanted to come to the party so they  "SAID" that it was Jesus's birthday so they can get in.  Recycling the soul??? good Idea, keep doin it till ya get it right???  I aint goina say .  But when summer is over maybe there won't be any more second chances.                The whole 12/25 thing has to do with several pagan sun gods being born on that date, and the church trying to conform Jesus into another sun god.
               
               As for death is death,  I may not believe that anyone goes to Heaven, but I do believe in the resurrection, and I believe that Heaven will be coming down to earth during that time.
               
               Which, thank God, because the main concept I hear about Heaven?

         I think "soul" by definition is the non-physical part of a being. They don't die, the body does. However, in Catholic and some other teachings the soul and body are eventually reunited.

            Anyway, I never understood what purpose it would serve to get your body back. Will someone be putting in tennis courts or teaching aerobics in Heaven?
            
            And what if you were disfigured or disabled while on Earth? Do you get a makeover?

   the purpose in us existing at all is to love God. To choose to be faithful to Him.
   Not our spouses. Since some here do not marry, or get divorced etc.
   People cannot damn us nor save us. Only God can and does.
   
   In that, I doubt very seriously when one faces God they are thinking of anyone besides themselves. As heaven being an etrnal place with God is the reward for a personal choice in either being with God or away from Him.
   
   Heaven in by all that it is UNimaginable.
   Its beauty
   Its splendour
   Its light being forever absent from darkness
   
   The better to question to ask really is what Heaven is not.
   Heaven is not a sin filled place
   Heaven is not a place of torment neither is torment present
   Heaven is not a place of death neither is death present
   Heaven is not a place of sickness or disease neither are those present
   Heaven is not a place of hate neither is hate present
   Heaven is not a place of evil neither is evil present
   and I could go on and on but you get my point.
   
   So I believe that what I will be spending most of my time in Heaven thanking and praising Him for all that heaven is not and all that it is!

         I could be wrong but I do not think that MY God put me here on this earth so that he is all that I can see. He wants to stay in my perifial vision while I am enjoying seeing all of the beautiful that he made for me to see and touch. If all that he wanted for me to see is him he would have put me in front of his throne.

    As I recall, Jesus' actual birthday was calculated to be sometime in June. I don't remember how they concluded, but anyway, back on subject... When we get to heaven we will be worshiping God. I don't think there will be anything better than to praise the Creator. This may make him sound egotistical, but He's God! He has the right to be!

    Here's a quick thank you to all who have posted responses. You've all been completely civil and that's almost unheard of in the religious forum here!
    
    What's great is that we don't all agree on whether God exists or Heaven exists yet no one has felt the need to be demeaning or condescending towards someone with a different belief. How cool is that? 
    
    Personally I've tried to keep things lighthearted yet respectful. The idea was just to have a fun, interesting discussion where everyone could have a few laughs and maybe learn something new.
    
    And I think we've proven that can be done. Thanks peeps!

       If you deny Jesus he denies you. we are in the end days. Look out the window.
       What if I am right? Heaven is far from boring. If you were in a paradise with lakes, waterfalls, huge suppers, wine, everyone loves,Jesus prepares a paradise for believers. No evil or gangs or fast cars will be there,it will be better. You may fly.
       Is that boring? You can play with lions or ride horses. Our treasures wait in heaven(scripture)
       Jesus died for our sin that is why he was crucified on the cross. Of course no evil will be there none, no gangs, no lies, no illness, no depression, no cutting, no bipolar, no manipulation, does that excite you? Sorry but what is boring?
       If you ask Jesus into your heart, believed he died on the cross and repent of sin you will be saved. (John 3:16)
       When you love jesus you want to do things that help him by loving others. We do not get to heaven because we are good but because he is good. No one would make it into heaven if Jesus did not die for our sins. Everyone sins. If you deny Jesus, then no heaven. Hell awaits you 4-ever Which Choice is it?
       Hell is real.  We are Gods children if you were a father would you not give your children wonderful things to do in heaven??

          If you're right, that's great but what if you're wrong? That's the problem and the real question. Nobody knows!
          
          FWIW I don't think Heaven (if it exists) is full of Earthly pleasures like eating huge suppers or drinking wine or riding horses. We won't need food or drink because we'll have no physical bodies. Plus it's tough to ride a horse without a body.
          
          Maybe we'll all just play mind games!

    This is only a possibility but what   IF   life is kinda like a VACATION for the spirit world. All sorts of spirits get to come here (kinda like SIX FLAGS OVER Texas.  Tha hard part is remembering what door we came in thru, or where we parked the cat at Walmart. Somebody might try to take us home through a different door. GOOD THING?   or  BAD  THANG!!!  ??

    Sorry I just had another brain cramp...  It would be nice if the earth was the center of the universe....  then there would be enough room for enough mansions for everyone to gather together in their prospective camps. Me wayyyy over there and that someone over here close enough to go and visit when I wanted to..And you, where ever you wanted to be.  That would be heaven for everyone.  I vote for that idea!!!     Would you rather be heavenly or burn in Hell 4 ever with NO water?? U-tube has some videos made about hell. It aint pretty. (Revelation)
    The word of God is the only word that has never lied. Many things have come to pass that have been written. We are closer to the end time. Read John 3:16. If you died to night you want heaven. Read the scripture or google the scripture. Hugs and LOVE
    Ask Jesus into your heart, repent of sin, believe he died on the cross for you, for me. You will be saved. If I am right you may not be kidding around like this sorry but truth. I want no one to perish either does Jesus but he will not twist your arm to love him. Your creator, he made you for a reason. What is boring anyway? Google that one.

    Heaven is marketing personified. It is everything you want it to be, as hell is everything you're scared of. So it's different for anyone who believes and it's vividly accurate to all its followers.
    
    How good is that as a marketing concept? Impossible to prove or disprove while you're still engaging in this world, and irrelevant when you're not. The cynical amongst us might think that could be used to control people.
    
    Personally, if there's cheese and biscuits, I'm all for it, but I'm not going to worry too much about it. Better to make the most of the life I do know exists.

    Wouldn't it make sense that we do what God does?  I believe He focuses all his time and energy on us.  If we are so fortunate to live with Him again, wouldn't it make sense that we spend our time serving others?
