What is the difference between the Rapture and the Second Coming?
The Rapture tends to be considered the moment when large groups of people (generally those who follow Jesus) are suddenly caught up into the sky. At least that is a common view of the rapture.
The Second Coming is the return of Jesus Christ to the earth.
Some believe they will happen at the same time. Some believe one or the other has already happened. But those are the very basic, general perspectives.
The Rapture is a happening that happens suddenly without warning and it is not Christ coming here but calling believers, well his body, the true church to Him. We who are living will be changed in the twinkling of an eyes and raised with the dead Christians to all be taken up together no longer human flesh to meet our Lord. The Second Coming will be what the Jew did not accept as being Him the first time, but if not for that, would we have the crumbs from the table? I am sure it is all as God did plan.
The "Rapture" will happen in the twinkling of an eye. Suddenly 1/3 of the worlds population will mysteriously disappear. This is to take place just prior to The "Great Tribulation & Armegeddon" which is supposed to last 7 years. "The Second Coming" will take place after Armegeddon is finished and Jesus will return to retrieve any remaining who choose to follow Him. The remainder will be cast for eternity into the "Lake of Fire" along with the devil, the anti-christ, the false prophet, and the fallen angels. This is the finality of sin death and evil for death and hell will be tossed in too.
