  Yes I do, why because it's in the Bible in Revelations. The Bible is the word of God and I believe in what it says eventhough it's been tampered with by man to this day. But little do these people know that the last passage in the Bible is directed to them for their tampering.

  He came again exactly as Gabriel said that he would in Daniel 9:25 and as Jesus himself said that he would Before Generation that he was talking to comes to its end.

They also thought that when the Messiah came according to the Old Testament prophets (they thought) that he was coming as a conquering hero. That he was going to crush the Roman Empire.Interpretations were wrong at that time as it is today.

  No one is ever going to understand what is actually written until you begin again studying what scripture actually says.

  Really? Do you know who Greenleaf is? A self proclaimed atheist who sought out to prove the bible wrong, but instead became a Christian because the evidence for Jesus Christ (God in flesh) was overwhelming. Show me the Big Bang, life from non-life, Any hard evidence for evolution. Any. We have the same facts, The same earth and the same science we it comes to observational science, so it's interpretation vs interpretation.
  
  Fact 1: The universe had a beginning
  
  Fact 2: The Second Law of Thermodynamics is Fact
  
  Fact 3: We would be here if there was infinite regression of Causes
  
  Conclusion: There must be an uncaused cause. I believe based on the facts that God is the uncaused that created everything from nothing.
  
  You can either use logic to say nothing created everything(0+0=1), matter is eternal(disproved-entropy and the second law of Thermodynamics) or there is a uncaused caused created everything(proven through the Law of Causality) either way logic and faith are required. We know things can only produced after it’s kind, we know life only comes from life. I believe in God based on what I know you’re an atheist because of what you don’t know. Was your brain designed or a product of random chance? Why do you trust your thoughts?

  As a firm believer in Christ, I do not. The destruction spoken in the bible's book of Revelation, is not of Jesus and the patient loving God he spoke of. So no- I don't believe in this second coming as depicted in Revelations, but am more incline to believe in what he is suppose to have stated found in Luke, Chap 21:25.

  Yes. It is one of the pinnacles of faith. It is often viewed and seen as an end but I rather view it as a beginning. Yes, the world as we know it will end. However, there are scores of uplifting events and works to take place leading up to and following the Second Coming. My personal joy in my faith is in the study of the conditions during the millenial reign. I've lost my firstborn twenty years ago and there are great promises concerning this group in the millenium. It is reassuring and gives hope.

Absolutely, He will return because God never lies, we cannot know exactly when, but the signs of the times show He's returning soon.

Matthew 24 is now reading like a daily weather forecast, there is a massive increase in lawlessness and depravity.

Fools are now openly scoffing about His lack of return and Satan is desperately trying to deceive as many as he may before his time is up and he's toast.

I am seeing increased signs that the atheists all want to push as hard as possible to discredit the bible, Christians and especially Christ.

  I've seen further proof this week, that the atheists are determined to try and suppress or discredit our Lord and His servants, (thats you and me and all the other believers who post here) after I published a hub exposing the demonic activity behind mediums, soothsayers, and the New Age religions....
  
  The days are short, thankfully, and ironically the thing that seems to annoy the godless is the fact that we welcome the return of our Lord, so even if only subliminally, they know that the time of reckoning is approaching fast, and are fighting harder to try and discredit what the bible states, as if that will make a difference to our respective futures.

  Excuse me, but you're just getting your facts wrong. There is no proof that Jesus ever existed. The written accounts you're referring to are 50+ years after Jesus's supposed death, therefore excluded as sources of proof. There is no proof Jesus ever existed, and lets face it. The Bible doesn't really describe his life that well.
  
  We first see Jesus as a child, and then we see him when he's 30. Also, in one of the gospels, even one of the most important miracles is excluded, the virgin birth!
  
  Also, hundreds of years before Jesus, there were stories of men who were born from a virgin birth on the 25th of December, baptized in a river, practiced miracles, ressurected people, and being crusified; only later to be announced ressurected... Sound familiar???

  Anyways, Yes the second coming of Jesus Christ our saviour is coming sooner than anyone thinks. We all need to make sure that we have God in our hearts and lives right now because we are not guaranteed another second of life.

  Gabriel said (in 538 BC) that they are going to kill the messiah after 62 weeks. Dan 9:26
  They did around 30 AD
  Jesus told Peter,James and John and Andrew that that generation shall not end till all those things be fulfilled. Gabriel said that it shall be 69 weeks unto the Messiah

Here's my two cents worth. All you Christians out there had better bloody well hope that Christ does not come back -- because there is a quote in the Gospels where Jesus says, in effect, "Sorry boys, you ain't getting in the Gates... I was hungry and you never fed me, I was weary, and you didn't give me shelter..." and so on. If you are a Christian, you know what I am referring to.

There are ONE BILLION people on this planet who live on less than the equivalent of a dollar a day. Do you SERIOUSLY think God is going to forgive you ignoring this fact? This is not just a petty slip-up; this is a "sin", a wrongdoing, of such mighty proportions you'd better well hope your life is extended a bit longer yet, so you can address this!

Or maybe you don't believe that particular verse...

And most charitable organizations that eat up 94% of the contributions and still calling themselves NON PROFFIT. There is not that much that we poor people can do except for feeding those less fortunate in and around our neighbor hoods.

  Indeed. I like that bumper sticker. It does blow my mind, however, as I say, how there is this huge debate about this doctrine and that doctrine, yet, ironically, if you ask a non-Christian what the most prominent feature of Jesus' life was, it was "help the poor, and those with no hope."
  
  Again, perhaps it wouldn't be so astounding to me if there weren't that many poor people out there; but when four bilion people live on the equivalent of ten dollars a day OR LESS...

If you are a Christian, and believe the words of Jesus as written in the Gospels, I've got news for you -- there's a good chance you're on the way to hell.

Why? Because, as I have pointed out above, there are several billion people on this planet with next-to-nothing. They cannot even feed their children.

What are you doing about it? Something I hope -- or maybe you don't believe Matthew Chapter 25:

"Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.'

Every human who calls themselves Christian should definitely help others in some way - give to the poor, donate clothing, donate food, visit the sick, feed a homeless person, inspire the hopeless, rescue an animal. Everyone can do SOMETHING! If you don't have any money or items to donate, give of your time.

I said Christians should do these things, but actually, I believe we all should, as human beings.

I was thinking about how old I'll be in seven years. As that thought crossed my mind, so did another. The rapture crossed my mind,the second coming. I believe and I pray that I'm raptured up to be with my Lord and Savior,for the world without God is going to be wretched.

the ? was do you believe in second coming of Jesus Christ? I replied yes with addition to the spiritual apostasy of today that Jesus wld come a 2* soon. than I was accused of not knowing how to read & that the ? is asking do I believe in Jesus coming already. Im confused???? from my understanding Jesus has not come back a second time Im not getting any clarification let alone edification.. I understand the past but do you understand the future to come?

  I believe that the 42 months that the beast described in Rec. 13 will fulfill the 42 months in just a very few years.
  At that time the last trumpet will be sounded and the last vial will be poured out; what ever that means.

It's me, the broken record here again...

If you believe that the Gospels are the true words of Jesus, then logically you must believe:

A) that Jesus was royally p**ssed off with people who spent all their time messing about debating this belief and that doctrine -- he criticizes this over and over again

B) Matthew chapter 25 is extremely clear as to who he thought would be damned; and it was people who allowed even "the least of these" of the poor and the destitute (of which there are currently literally billions in the world) to go without aid.

So, if you doing (A) (which you seem to be doing on this forum), presumably you are annoying Jesus quite a lot right now,
and, if you are NOT doing (B) then you are on your way to hell: so the last thing you should want is Judgemnt Day.

You do have a valid point. ..Yet..
Jesus did discuss doctrine with the diffrent sects when he was , lets say, "challenging" them. What I am debating is the fact that we should not have different denominations that was created by interpretation of scripture. I have been and still am interpreting scripture to the best of my ability.

I encourage everyone to throw away their books of interpretations, and analyze what is written is scripture.

Understanding the End time prophesies are important because understanding them as they are actually written will put a diffrent prospective on all other scripture.

  But I thought the whole point of Jesus' message (assuming, as always, that his words were recorded accurately in the Gospels) was that there was no longer any need for all of this. I thought the idea was that he did away with a need for scripture, or institutions, that he could transform hearts and minds without the apparatus of religion, and various scrolls and so on: and that's why the local authorities arranged for him to be discretely gotten rid of.
  
  I thought Jesus was supposed to have said that once you understood the meaning of "love", that this was the law and the prophets, so to speak. I thought he was supposed to usher in a new approach to "religion."
  
  But, not to be offensive-sounding, you guys seem, on the contrary, to be continuing the tradition of the "pharisees" so to speak, if you see what I mean

  I think the problem arises is that so many are trying to understand and solve things we weren't meant to. How many times did Jesus say he didn't know the time and hour himself? That it was up to God. Yes he said there would be signs but he also said it would come like a thief in the night. I think it would then be sensible for us to assume that it would be in a time unexpected and totally by surprise, yet here we are debating this trying to say this it, the time is now, repeating the same thing that people have said for centuries again and again.
  
  The fact that so many are so sure that they have interpreted the signs tells me its not time yet. What is shocking is the number of people on this very thread who have said what amounts to This world sucks so I'm just going to wait for the end and my reward. let the rest of them suffer. I left a church not long back because their whole philosophy was why bother we're saved and going to heaven and the end is near so let's just wait for it and watch the sinners get what they deserve. meanwhile millions are still out there in the world working everyday to make things better. Sit there with your religion and sanctimonious attitudes, and wait for the end.

  Feeding the starving, helping the poor, these are things that are infinitely more important than "bringing people to Jesus."
  
  I've now quoted this a number of times: Matthew chapter 25 makes it clear that if you even miss "the least of these" of those that are suffering or in misery, you're going to hell; stern words, and just as clear a description of who's going to heaven and who isn't as any passage in the Bible... this is no small issue; it could be crucial for Christians, in fact.

  Doing all these things to help the poor and downtrodden is how we should be bringing people to Christs, by displaying our love and faithfulness to his message by carrying out his commands. A lifetime of service to communities and the forgotten of society is a much more powerful sermon then a TV show on TBN.
  
  People forget that the work never ends, the real work begins once you are saved. From that day forward you have promised God to serve and carry out his commands. Not to wait on the end and skate through life now that you've bought a ticket. This was all Sooner was saying, at least that's how i took it.

  I completely agree with your first paragraph. Right on. Take it from someone who is also a member of no particular church, nothing turns people off Christianity more than hypocrisy -- and it is hypocritical to pretend to have "Christ in your heart" when your life does not resemble the life of Jesus as portrayed in the Gospels very much; trust me, it sends people fleeing.

  I'm not arguing with you. We should be a shining light in a dark place. I hope each is doing their part. We make blankets and distribute clothes to the homeless, feed the hungry and much more. We don't have to look far for those in need. We live in a country that abandons crops to stabalize market value. there is so much at waste. Lets start a revolution.

@adsence ... I try to not debate scripture or even interpretation of the teaching of Christ. I try to express love and tolerance in my posts. If my beliefs are true concerning the end time prophesy this makes obvious the cause of the hypocrisy in Christianity. When I am asked if I am a christian I say that that depends on your definition of Christian but I do have a relationship with him.

I couldn't say who is more right or wrong. All I can say is I see your point. What are we going to do about it. I have been very critical in here because I feel I know scripture. But that hasn't produced anything except battles and emotions.

I'm changing that. Why don't you and I motivate people. You have a strong point and seem to care. how can we improve the quality of life for someone. Lets find a specific cause together and see if we can improve it through hubpages.
