    Love is the answer.

When all hope is lost and you've lost your way, love one another.  If I'm not mistaken I heard that from a song somewhere.

When we see acts of violence, we cannot use violence to correct it because it will only escalate further.  Understanding that the perpetrator is merely acting in the way that he or she knows best to do, we will be able to project compassion.  There is a possibility that in their childhood, they were in the receiving end of physical or sexual abuse, as how some psychologists explain it.  This may be why the abusers turn out the way they do.

Using our a rational approach to them from the mindset of compassion, we should reach out and extend love to these "aggressors" and hopefully our actions will convince them that they are loved.

Once the everyone in the world is convinced of how loved they are, there will be no more room for insecurity or feeling of loss of control and need for violence.  There will only be an urge to give back what has been given to them: love.

why do you say it is "filled". i'm going to be the bearer of good news. there is a lot of good things happening in this world as we sit here. people helping others. charities feeding the poor. couples getting married, babies being born to loving parents etc. etc. smile, it's actually a pretty good planet.

I think what would work, in addition to love mentioned by Quirinus, is a bit of respect for each others cultures and view on life. One of the main problems with the world, as I see it, is that there is too much of the 'my way is the only right way'. If we were to accept that there are many right ways and with love and respect they can all work in harmony, then we might have a chance. Personally I can't see a good future at the moment. There is just not enough love and respect, not only for each other, but for the natural world and planet as a whole. Something's going to snap - if it hasn't already.

Mankind consists of humans who are essentially spirits. These spirits are have a human experiences.  These spirit will definitely survive.

However each of us will have a opportunity to define each of us in respect to the violence, chaos, love, fear, greed ignorance, awareness, forgiveness, charity and other attributes we possess.

Your spirit will survive and you will define yourself for all eternity.

If we learn to understand and cope with situations, we will not have chaos or violence. It is what we choose in life that is happening to us.

If one is not greedy, then it will not create problem for others. If we learn to respect each other and learn the simple method of survival, then we do not need to have violence.

Be satisfied of what you can have and not be jealous of others who have more. If you want more, learn how you can earn like others did.

I am a simple person who is satisfied of what I can have in life.

The universe is even more chaotic, mad and violent than the planet we inhabit. Humanity will survive through cooperation and as it always has as an organism, by adapting. We will take to the stars, be fruitful and multiply until eventually we shall see other universes. Current technology is only a glimpse of current confidential technology, which itself is a shadow of the near future's progress. This in turn is likely pale in comparison to what we may have once achieved in a time long before the current era. The situation is no more dire now than it ever was. Solutions to most of the planets problems exist, it's the planet's choice to implement them. Can we soar once more to the heights of our prior godhood and again be able to fly amid Ra's Boat of a Million Years? Our apotheosis offers immortality, eternity and infinity through mastery of the manipulation of time and matter and awaits if we can just learn to work together.

You should look into game theory and chaos theory. Given the uncertainty that a not perfect world introduces it is in the best interest of our species to collectively be nice and get along so we have powerful biological drives to altruism, otherwise we wouldn't be able to live so close to each other and there would never have been any civilization to begin with.

To summarize: Chill, we got this.

There is always a force to balance the two polarity - that is good and evil. But in case the evil overturn by population the good the force at work will always flush out the evil. It happened in the days of old and it will still happen again and again.
