This is a simple question.
Can a person with pure love hate anything and still have pure love?
Name some of the things you hate even though you have love within you.
And then state if you think this is wrong.
Is that it? No questions? I'm disappointed.
Ok, what do you hate...and still are not moved from a position of love?
A position of love? lol What is that? Didn't know it had positions. Are you talking about love or sex?
no i don't think if you have pure love you can have hate in you. but there are no humans who are like this. all humans are imperfect and flawed in some way.
Jesus had pure love in him (if you believe the Bible that he was the son of God), which is why he had no hate in his heart for anyone, even those people who tortured him. i think PURE love is like a brilliant white light that blots out all hate.
Hating the deeds of people without hating the people is what love does.
If I am not mistaken, the Jesus you refer to made His own whip and took people to task with it on 2 occasions.
Perhaps there is a misunderstanding of the concept of pure love. Unconditional pure love does not have room for hate. If you are in that state, hate is just not there.
If however, you then lower your perception to that which perceives hate in any form, you are not in a state of pure love. It's a different state. The question is not a good one from this angle. When a person embodies Pure love it's a state of being and even that which was perceived from a lower level to be gross, perhaps unclean, dirty, ugly, intrusive, it just isn't seen that way from this state of pure love.
So the answer is No. Pure Love does not hate anything, otherwise it would not be pure love.
Maybe the question could be: Can I experience periods of being in pure love, and then ask why can't I stay in the state of pure love.?
I don't have 'pure love' within me. I have love and hate, because they go together. Pure love is very difficult to achieve
Short answer: nope.
But in reality, hate is not the opposite of love. Apathy is the opposite of love.
Hate is a form of love, although quite sick, since the hate involved between two people still binds them together. Forgiveness is a reset button.
However, a healthier form of love is obviously the one we gravitate toward, simply because it keeps us well.
My thoughts.
Apathy?
Do you think that fear leads to apathy?
As in "to afraid to care"?..."to afraid to love"?
Is that all it can hate?
Or is there more?
Is hate the opposite of love?
Or is something else the opposite?
Someone told me once that Love and Hate were actually related as you could only truly hate someone you once loved...does that make any sense?
Is that what you believe or something else?
Do you then hate the "someone"? or what they do? or both?
Pure love...unconditional love? Well, I like to believe I feel so for my family, including my pets. But, sometimes they bug me and I may hate THINGS they do...I don't know if that breaks the law of 'pure' love.
:]
So you can hate what they "do" w/o hating "them" correct?
Can I ask what they do that you hate?
Correct.
Nah, it's kind of personal issues stemming from a tragedy awhile back.
But, I'll use an unrelated example of hating something someone does but still loving them unconditionally.
You may have a relative that has an addiction that makes life hard. You love and care for them unconditionally but you hate what they do. You hate also the substance that controls them. You hate what they have done to themselves and how it affects your family in general.
But, you still love them.
Does the love you show for them have boundaries?
As in, if they break the boundaries, then they are kept on the other side of the boundary?
That is my weakness I can get angry but I forgive , I have disliked but learned to appreciate I can't stand, I will defend and protect but I always try to find good in each person regardless if it is Virtual or not. However if someone takes another person's life, molest's, rapes then I truly find it hard to forgive that person. I don't overlook and I believe in any eye for an eye well I wish it were that way.
LOL You beat me to it Fairbear.
Yep, love does not hate. period.
Please see 2 posts above this one.
There's a difference between pure love and a human being. A human being is just that--a human being, complete with the entire array of human emotions, ranging from hate to love.
Pure love, on the other hand, is just that--pure love. It is not a human being. And it can be nothing other than what it is--Love. Therefore it cannot hate, just like hate cannot love.
Love and hate both exist within human beings, but they are not the human being itself.
Everyone is assuming I am talking about some silly human love.
OK, so love hates nothing right?
not rape, murder, child abuse, lying, bribery, slander?
None of it....so what does love think about those things then?
Love doesn't do anything but love. It doesn't think. People think.
Love is nothing other than love. So if it does anything, it loves.
Hate hates.
Fear is afraid.
Happiness is happy.
Pride is proud.
Violence is violent.
Etc.
Get it?
So does love tolerate all the stuff on my list?
If you really really and truly experienced in your cells that which is Pure Love, you would come to see that you are in fact talking about silly human love.
That is correct.
Anyone with any degree of love hates the following I would think.
1-Lying
2-Cheating
3-Slander
4-Murder
5-Gossip
6-Malice
7-Rape
8-Bribery
9-Arson
10-Child abuse
One can hate these and still have love. To hate that which is evil does not negate one's love of humanity at all.
Seriously now, if someone punched your spouse, kicked your child and shot your dog, you would not hate what they did?
Not them, but what they did.
Perhaps you are mixing True Pure Love with a lesser form of it. Loving pizza is not the same as Pure love. Is very unfortunate that this one word (Love) seems to be used and abused, generalized and bastardized. Man loves his car, loves sex, loves his children, loves beer, loves his dog, loves his job, loves his bed. And then this Pure Love is put in the mix. Totally skews our understanding of what love is meant to be doesn't it. That's not a question by the way.
Not mixed up here at all.
I know we have one word for love, but other languages have several so as to clear up the meaning.
Perhaps you think the opposite of love is hate?
I am not talking about the things we like / love as in the list you just made.
I am speaking of pure love. So again, do you hate anything on the list?
So do you hate anything on the list of 10 things mentioned?
Answering this last question, takes away from your original question. It's not in the same reality, nor is it serving any purpose. You cannot use the words Pure Love and then turn around and talk about hate.
You either talk about Pure Love. Or you talk about the unfallen state of the human condition. Don't confuse the two.
No confusion here.
Pure love can stay pure while hating the evil people do.
Not hating them, just what they do.
Perhaps you think love is the opposite of hate?
Bullshit. You are totally confusing states of consciousness. I'm not at all confused.
Perhaps you'd do well not to suggest what I'm thinking also, it's quite condescending. Ta!
These are experiences. Whilst you are in the state of pure love, there is no room for hate. Please expand yourself just for a bit. Pure love is the absence of hate. ABSENCE OF HATE.
Unfortunately it's a foreign concept, even to the most lovely of people. This is not a learned concept from books. It's not a concept at all. It's what you embody. And once you have experienced PURE love, it's unmistakable and there is no question that hate is not even in your state of consciousness when it happens. Unfortunately, alas, as was previously mentioned above, it's a state that is difficult to hold whilst walking around dealing with religious forums and the human experience in general! Excuse I just couldn't resist that.
So again - PURE LOVE DOES NOT HATE, if it did hate it wouldn't be pure love. OK?
Pure love cannot be moved from it's positon of love, no matter what is is doing, it does all things in love, no matter the action, it cannot be shaken from love in anyway.
It stays loving in all that it does.
Love is motivted to do all things within love, by love and for the sake of love...no matter the action taken by love.
Glad you're starting to get it. ooops! Then again perhaps not.
Love can hate something and still be love.
And do know why?
Because of what was just written.
You see, Pure Love is perfect in all it does, including hating what it hates and hating something does not move love from it's place of love.
Pure love can destroy something and it did it with love.
There is a saying that says that there is a fine line between Love and Hate, but real pure love can never hate. Can a mother who has nurtured and cared for her child, ever hate their child?
Even when their child is doing horrible things?
Not to bring in religion or anything but God as we are taught in all religions love us. We fear his wrath but in the end we are taught that he punishes us because he loves us, does God hate the devil?
Who knows. The love you feel inside for someone or something is the only thing that can show you the answer to your question.
Something that you truly love unconditionially, do you ever hate it?
really?
hmm
you'll have to ask our resident Bible guru about that one...i had no idea.
REALLY? wow.
+@:^) <----atomswifey
anyway, just adding my impressions; not interested in a debate.
thank you for your post.
He said this as well.
"But this you have, that you hate the works of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate."
"Thus you also have those who hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate."
No person has pure love all the time. All of us hate and love depending on the circumstances. If you love, you hate, as love and hate is the same feeling. Love is the possitive, hate the negative. Everything in this world is bi-polar.Health-sickness.Ugliness-beauty, etc.
Pure love is a state where you only feel absolute love and nothing else. But you can't stay in that position for long,as you're a human being and have within yourself both feelings (love & hate)
It's certainly not easy is it - to stay in that state. I can see you've experienced it by the way you speak about it xtasis. Namaste.
I don't think I have, for more than 10 minutes Lol!!Thanks for your words. Namaste !
I know what you're saying. Shakes you to the core afterwards. Exquisite is just not enough to describe. But what a carrot to have dangled. Can see why it takes persistence and huge aspiration and work to get back to those states.
But you don't need to do anything ! pure love just comes and goes, under different circumstances and lasts for only a few minutes. That's my experience.Maybe yours is different?
Well perhaps we differ in how the experience came about. I'd like to hear yours one day. I've spent years doing spiritual practices, regression, involution, meditation and by the ability to go inside, this is how the experience is attained. And it's not by a doing, but a state of stillness. It is unmistakable. So markedly superior to what is given and received in our every day lives.
I see what you are saying. Not sure I agree though, pure love seems to be an exception from duality.
You've hit the nail Misha, 10 points and you get the prize.
Change the statement. Pure love is absent from duality.
Love you Misha.
Love ya too Julie
And a prize coming from you does mean a lot to me
If love and hate are the extremities of passion and pure love is that end of the scale at 100% then hate isn't possible there surely, that's just logic.
The notion that a person could maintain a state of what most surely is euphoria (to have no hint of hatred of any kind) at all times is a tad unrealistic.
Love is not the opposite of hate.
One who has pure love can hate something, some deed or action and it's righteous to do so.
That does not mean love has left the person in that moment.
Pure love can hate sin as it is the polar opposite of everything that love is
Then you are in the opposite if you are not in pure love. that's duality. To embody pure love you don't have the hate, don't have the darkness, it doesn't exist as you've put the light into what was dark. You change your state and the darkness no longer exists.
There is no 'sin' in pure love.
Obviously there is no sin in pure love, that is why pure love hates sin and anyone living in sin cannot obtain pure love.
There is no such thing as sin. However, if we used the scripture to interpret you interpretation of what god said about love and sin then we can say that because jesus died for our sins then sin no longer exist and all people can obtain pure love.
Well then if there is no such thing as sin anymore, why do people not have pure love?
If there is no longer sin, why so people still do it?
Like I said - change the wording. There is no opposite. You are perhaps misunderstand what Pure Love is. It is the embodiment of that which you call Christ, it is the absolute, it is that which does not have duality.
Now if you want to keep on with the subject as you see it, then change the word from Pure Love, to a fallen state of what love is to you. As I said above, Pure Love is not the same as a man loving his pizza, or his car, or his penis, or his bible, or his children, or his dog, or his food. Pure love does not have within it any darkness.
One has to be careful on a religious forum when using words that mean specific things to different esoteric traditions. But even in the Christian tradition Pure Love is Christ consciousness and that is void of hate.
Nope they don't Misha, just plain goes over their heads.
I'll exit now and let the circular stuff take care of itself.
If you say Christ is Pure Love and yet He used the word hate a lot of times, and even said He hated certain things and teachings, then obviously Pure Love can hate things.
That would be an orthodoxed belief. You were taught that jesus hated sin but you were also taught that jesus was pure.
If perfect love cast out fear or there is no fear in love... then they are referencing love over coming fear or hate. Not Jesus being pure love itself.
If you believe that jesus is pure love then you believe that pure love hates too.
If you believe that pure love "sees" no hate then hate does not exist in the same space as love.
Therefore if you love and fear god then you have not been made perfect in love because had you pure love there would be no need to even hate what jesus hated. You wouldn't feel the need to repent out of fear nor the need to preach as you were told you had to do otherwise your love is false.
I spent so much time repenting for things I never needed to repent for. I spent so much of my life believing that if I hurt someone...which I have never done on purpose, then I had done something wrong. I spent 29 of my 31 years of life crying and apologizing.
When I looked at what I was apologizing for, I was apologizing for being different. But now I don't apologize for it because I do love myself. I always loved myself but could never understand why others couldn't love me back.
I do know why now so in turn, I live my life giving love and in love, not trying to receive love.
I was quoting Jewels as saying "Christ is Pure Love"
She believes Christ is Pure Love. I just pointed out how that Pure Love can obviously hate something and still be Pure Love.
I respect God and honor God reverence God (those words are ranslated fear)
I do not think love and fear can exist together.
I do think I can have love and hate things people do yes.
Like doing unrighteous things to others.
Anything not done in love is something I cannot stand.
From what I understand about Jewels is that she is using Christ as a metaphor in the Christiandom as the embodiment of love. Not that Jesus is Love but Jesus as a human or deity was understood to stand for "love" the oposer of evil. If I am wrong about what I think that Jewels is talking about then I know she will clear it up.
Christ Consciousness is the state of consciousness which Jesus the human attained. Christ Consciousness is that which is Pure Love.
The person who has started this thread is not talking about Pure Love at all, but a fallen sense of it. That is very clear by what he/she is saying. In fact what I see this person saying, is not saying at all. This person is enticing statements from people as if he/she is a preacher or teacher and espouses to know everything. Clearly not the case.
Modern Christianity has missed some very important pieces of esoteric knowledge. I have no idea why they chose to do that but it smells of idiocracy.
Sandra nice to see you. I see you've ventured to Hawaii.
So Christ attained pure love and yet He hated as well?
Just asking because it says that HE did.
"It?" I'm assuming by IT you mean your good knowledge book? No, see you're missing the point again.
Jesus became Jesus Christ - means he attained the state of Christ consciousness. I know it's probably a stretch for you to see this. See the symbology the bible is showing you. Anyway. Don't be too concerned about what IT says, try to have the experience yourself. That's what Jesus was trying to tell you guys. Now, there's really no point in extracting thoughts and feelings from other people, that doesn't work. You might as well be at the front of the class with a blackboard and chalk for what it's worth here. When you have the experience of Pure Love it will blow your socks off, literally. And you will never put it in the context you have it in here.
Jesus = hu-man = ability to love and hate. Jesus attained enlightenment - embodied Christ Consciousness = there is no hate = pure love.
IT?, what the?
After He was resurrected He stated that He still hated some things.
And I am quite certain that I have both known and experienced Pure Love for sure.
I live, move and have my being within that Pure Love too.
GOD is Pure Love and hates plenty of things.
In life there are two tangents one is you like or dislike certain things and the other is to see the perfection of life where one doesn't have any ego concerning like or dislike.
I have said this before your intentions may be good but the way you go about it is not.
"It?" I'm assuming by IT you mean your good knowledge book? No, see you're missing the point again.

My Friend Shiyloh try and understand what Jewels is saying as she speaks the highest truth.
Nice to see you too. Yup, I am in Hawaii. Still waiting to explore it all.
Went up to Mauna Kea last weekend for a star gazing party with my new telescope! You can see part of our Milky Way out here. Plus on a clear night you are almost guaranteed to see at least 1 shooting star but every night I have seen at least 2 and some nights so far five/six.
I never seen so many stars with me bare eyes in my life! How are you doing? Missed you, love you.
I'm doing really well. Have been focusing on my new site - it's up and running now. Phew! Feels good.
Glad you're stargazing, it's such a beautiful thing to do. Over here we get the milky way in all it's glory. Breathtaking.
I was staying clear of these forums. I'm just having a day out you could say. Such a waste of time mostly. But my Mercury is not interested in being reigned in today! What can I do.
I am hoping that after our stay in Hawaii that our next destination will be Australia. I think I would definitely fit in down unda.
Sandra I beliee you and I understand love in the same way. Love is a doing thing. You give love not to receive it. You give it because you have it to give!
Australia was made for you Sandra. Your like an Aussie in many ways I reckon.

Love feeds on the joy that comes from within. Feelings strengthened by thinking thoughts of kindness, peace, hope and success toward the one that is loved. It needs no invitation, no encouragement, no telling, no touching, no appreciation, no gifts, no looks, no words - written or spoken. It is not...

What is the difference between God hating something and man hating something? What exactly does God hate? What and were does God draw the line on what is and is not to be hated? I know God hate's sin, but is there anything else He hates? Is man suppose to hate anything?
