What are your views on the Abrahamic God and pain/suffering co-existing?
Anything at all would be good, I'm very much interested in other peoples' view, as it were, I am playing devil's advocate to try and encourage new thinking and new arguments and note when people get stuck. If you are struggling with time, just a general or brief statement could do and I'll try my best to work out what you mean. Thanks.
I will have to send you the answer via e-mail because I wrote too much for this space to accept it and I don't want to turn it into a Hub because it is not polished enough to be "publishable" according to my standards. I'll be sending something in a few minutes!
Man has a responsibility to be obedient to God, if you are not, the punishment will be severe.God made us for himself and for his purpose, where are not here by chance. Pain.suffering are an integral part of life issues, no one can escape them.
God is a complete whole, as there can be no good without non-good, no darkness without light. Pain reminds us that there is pleasure. Pleasure reminds us that there is pain. You can't have highs without the lows and vice versa. God is not a one-dimensional being: God is the supreme being, full of infinite lessons for us!

I was just reading a post on another thread about the 10 commandments and the subject of adultery was raised. The point was that the apparent imbalance between the sexes regarding the law was that women had a lower status in the Hebrew culture. Fair enough. However this raises the issue that the...

Don W wrote @Rishy Rich:1. Doesn't matter who's assumption it is. If you use it as the base of a hypothetical argument, your argument needs to be consistent with it.2. same as above3. The 'Yahweh' of Abrahamic religions is also described as a personal god, i.e. involved in human affairs. That's one...
