The way I understand it, it is a specific sect of Christianity that believes ALL people were saved by Jesus, whether they acknowledge it or not, and therefore there would be no such thing as hell. However, I'm not a universalist nor am i an expert on the subject, so this is just my superficial understanding of the topic.
To my mind Universalism is there in mankind where we all are in search of truth and meaning of life. As I am a Hindu, I do believe in Hindu religion, according to which the ‘duty’, ‘virtue’, and ‘morality’ is there to bring discipline in the society and set the feeling of brotherhood. And this is not in no way different from the need of grace, mercy and forgiveness to save the mankind and save the sinners from disaster of Christian religion to uphold the universe and the society.
