What is your opinion on the reason we exist?
We all have our own reasoning for the purpose we exist, some say its through evolution we came to be, others have different views on the matter, what is your view?
I firmly believe something in our perfect creation, with all the organs in our body aligned perfectly in unison, working together to keep of us alive, or our brain which is still to be understood as one of mankind's greatest mystery's could not be a product of mere evolution. There is something definitely going on, and my goal is to figure out this purpose, and ill start with the views of others for my research.
We exist because we chose to experience life on earth. We have made sacred contracts with people we meet on this planet, in this lifetime, because somehow we will be able to help each other evolve and find out our own true nature. Therefore no meeting, no matter how seemingly trivial, is random.
Because God created us. i believe He created humans so they could commune with Him. He also needed someone to tend to the Garden of Eden as well. The birds and animals were also a welcome addition to the earth and He protected them from the flood by the ark. He cared about the whole of creation but man is different even from animals we have a soul and animals do not. We were created in His image. We are to more than exist we are to live. Life and more abundantly for us is why He created us. churchlady
Just like what it says on the bible we people exist because we have certain responsibilities that are given to us by our creator. I guess one of the responsibilities would be taking care of his creations, which I guess a few only know.
I believe we exist because our creator has us as part of his master plan for the world. Our goal in life is to figure out what it is our particular purpose is meant to be.
Claiming that evolution could not produce a complex organ is a positive claim that requires evidence.
Unfortunately the evidence is against your claim.
Why do we need a reason to exist?
We exist to find our true identity and purpose. We all are here to accomplish something. What is it? That's why we are here. Our existence on earth is a proof that we have to achieve our unfulfilled desires, goals and mission.
The reason as to why we are here is that we have evolved to what we are today (haven't Darwin's theories been proven? all life is related!), maybe many years into the future evolution could change us again to adapt to whatever the environment is then? Who knows? We can't see into the future.
As for a purpose I don't think there is a positive one, we just need to survive, to pass our knowledge down to our children, to learn and discover, to make change for the better? etc etc.
Good luck with your quest to "figure it out"...
I think our purpose for living is to give someone caring love, seek wisdom and try to make the world more advanced and civilized. Also to help all others who do not seem to know how to achieve those goals.
I honestly have no idea. In fact, I don't know why anything exists. Even if you invoke God in an explanation, you have to answer the question of why God exists, which just brings you back to the original question of why anything exists. It's a mystery, and anyone who claims to have a definitive answer to your question has not thought about it very much.
It's like this, I believe God initiated a sort of domino effect by creating a thing known as inertia, also regarded as energy. Spirit as well as an even greater potential energy known as soul, was born and began racing in many directions, giving birth to more souls, due to the fact that from the start of the initial one, it was also built with an infinite capacity to duplicate and or replicate, just mike mitosis or cellular division.
God knew he had to give such a powerful entity limitations so he bounded such a creation into an ever lasting abyss, also known as the cosmos to the scientific mind, or the heavens to the religious type, either way its the same thing.
From the bounded barriers being erected, now the possibility of creating an actual surface came into the game, where a single particle was formed since the very first soul in its enclosed microcosm in comparison to its creator, had multiplied a Gazzilion times over.
Soon came dust, and then the collections began, and gravitation as well as attraction was born, allowing for the acceleration and spontaneous collision process. Things got hectic after while because this ever duplicating soul began to fill these well defined boundaries known as the cosmos, and next thing you know spontaneous combustion was born, god had it all figured out though, now these souls had no name, no idea, no given purpose at the time, all it knew how to do is expand, and grow, and multiply, then outgrow its space given, and continuously repeat such a process, until the very first nebula and universe was born our of such hard laboring. The big Bang yeah it definitely happened, but God initiated it all, and thus why we see its so hard to prove why we exist in the first place.
Religion wants to argue their side, scientists wanna defend their strategic approach and findings, but some day they all going to come together and realize what I just felt all my life, and truly believe has occurred, but who knows, Right!
We exist because we can, and trying to prove such is absolutely pointless in my book, but go ahead and try, it will only get you back to the same starting point we all began at, because that's how existence is, its repetitive as ever.
We exist because God has a purpose and a plan for each of our lives. No one is here by chance or coincidence. Seek God through prayer and His word to discover the plan and purpose that He has for your life.
The chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy him forever.
We are here to learn how beautiful we really are as creatures of energy, light and spirit. I dont care about your back ground, your defective genes, handicaps, beliefs or what ever or not you think you have any worth at all , I see the light in you. Living inspired is finding beauty in everything. read more
Great question Konata. For centuries this question has been asked and no one could know it for sure. But what I have learned, from my experience this question I'll take back to creation and our past lives. As many of us know and believe that people have past lives, and not nesseraly as people. We could be anything that has soul. Well, why we exist? Because there is place (death) another dimenyin where we go to when we die. In this world we know our past lives and we know why we exist. As for the existance on the planet earth, we are here to get the experience as humans and get the feeling of love, anger, etc. Because in the other world we can not get the same experience because there is only love exist. And to answer the purpose of our being on the planet earth is for you to answer, because only you could set the purpose for yourself.
I believe that we exist here on Earth, to learn spiritual lessons; things like compassion, forgiveness and understanding.
I believe that we are spirits, temporarily housed in a human vessel. We are not this vessel. We're just using it to have experiences here and learn spiritual lessons that we haven't perfected yet.

Why can't God and evolution coexist?I am curious about the division between the concept of evolution and the religious mind... why can't God and evolution coexist? What are the rules that define the scientific process of evolution? Can those rules be applied towards religious belief?

Do you believe we all have a purpose in our lives? Are we all here for a reason?I don't believe in fate or destiny. I don't think there is any reason for me to be on this earth other than simple biology. I'm OK with that. I like the idea that the coarse of my life is for me to decide. Both the...

The Bible states that God created the Waters, but when did He do this?If you notice in the book of Genesis Chapter 1 it does not state the day in which God created the waters within the 6 days of creation. Between verses 2 and 6 it implies that water already existed. However, throughout the bible...
