well there's a loaded question if ever i saw one
i'll just stay over here in the corner where it's safe
Well, they certainly can in MY church. I don't know if its OUR church though.
they have been doing it for ages, even if you don't like it. How would you know someone is gay, if they don't tell you ?
I thought this topic should be in the religious forum. Why is it here?
It will never happen at my church and if due to some ACLU lawsuit it did I would pray at home.
It's not really a matter of opinion. If it's against church policy, they should find a different church.
Seriously how else are the heathens going to start to follow the right path...laughing my ass off says the practicing lesbian who doesn't go to church...
You have to practice to become officially homosexual? Wow, it's more complex than I thought...I don't know about this one, need to call up the Catholic Church and get a hold of an altar boy..
When will they stop practicing to be gay or lesbian and start doing it for real?
I don't know, does it take a lot of schooling?
Although doctors get accredited, but everything they do is still "practice.."
It's fine. My mom was a sacristan and sexton and knew of one or three, hehe. There are plenty o' gays conducting your masses as there are straight priests. ;D
really, this thread must have tip toed out of the religion forum.
I like your name it reminds me of someone.
well thank you very much, I hope she's nice.
*sigh* It's my fault, really. I saw it slithering past me from that dark direction where you hear the squeals and screams of frustration. I keep thinking it's the nursery of HubPages, but they just told me I was most assuredly wrong.
The nursery has less whining.
Anyway, I went to pull out my musket and bust a ball (I'm tired of firing lasers, I'm taking it old sk00l) where upon I found a shiny thing. And it resided here.
I don't understand what someones sexual preference has to do with it?
Uh-- well, maybe it shouldn't, but what if someone's personal descisions are in conflict with certain religious tenants? Can a person be an orthodox Rabbai if they are in the pork business?
Its ok. Im not trying to argue. I really don't understand why it would matter to be honest. Maybe i'm being blond.
It's OK-- I was born blonde myself-- but I grew out of it.
Shh I just use that as an excuse when I really don't understand something, and its always about religion.
You are stunning and blond. You can ask any question you want. Regarding the question asked on this forum. As a gay man, I just dont get the going where you are not invited or not welcome thing. Some, maybe all religions consider me an Abomination. Why in the world, would I even want to look at their Church. Some gay people go to church. There are even gay preachers. Some gay people want to walk down a church aile and get married. That's what I dont understand Mackey. All I want is the same legal rights married comples have.Maybe some gay person can help me understand this. I'm confused too.
Ah, as a practicing lesbian, I just love blondes! Yet I love brunettes, too. And redheads are lovely...
I think that in the future they will be accpeted as preacher, priests etc as society evolves it gives leeway. moral laws becomes accepting, but it will take time,, for the meantime we are just talking about it now, and this is one way to create awareness about the issue,
we are all created equal, we should have the same rights, no scientists can pinpoint whether being gay, lesbians etc is due to social upbringing or heredity......orientation is ever changing because people change too, change is the only thing permanent....
Gays shouldn’t want be apart of any religion since most of them have already condemned them to the make-believe HELL. Remember that the Holy BuyBull is anti-Gay.
What most Fundamental Nuts don’t realize is that King James was definitely Gay and most Protestants use some form of his bible whether Standard, Revised or New.
Here is an example:
Should practicing gays and lesbians officiate in our churches?
Let's break that down.
Should? Probably not.
Practicing gays and lesbians? How do you practice being gay or lesbian in nature? Sounds like a contradiction to life. And, gives people the idea that people practice being gay or lesbian before they come clean.
Officiate in our churches? Well, most "women" already can't officiate in most churches, because "WOMEN" are seen as sub-servants to men and not equals. Should gay men officiate in 'church'- their own way life contradicts teachings....HOW CAN YOU TRUST anything they with regards to your faith or belief.
The fact: the 'churches' in some forms of religion are changing their views toward 'gays' and 'lesbians' is in a direct contradiction of all teachings.
It should make one think- Is Religion a Hoax? or Not?
Just because, it constantly changes is view, which shouldn't be the case- cause 'god' or word of 'jesus christ' is suppose to be an ABSOLUTE? isn't it.
Absolute Rules do not change!
Yet, religion continues to change!
See the hoax?
The Churches change because they want to reach more people, bring in more donations, be more eclectic in their Biblical Interpretations, open up to everyone, and also, they change for fear of loosing people, having to close the doros. They are accepting a changing and loosening of social norms. They move to fit the area and social outlook of the majority they can reach out to.
Usualy when a Church changes it splits the congration, the People who hold staunch Biblical line leave. The others who are not holding to literal or strick interpretation of the Bible, stay.
It becomes a matter of personal choice, how you view the Word, and your ideas of its meanings.
Some take the words literaly, that it is an abomination to God, (it does say that in the Bible), some say No way! God made all of us, the translation is wrong, mis-interpreted, and or mis-translated.
Again...Personal choice, no right or wrong, except in your personal concience.
Not all religions abhor change. Some of them embrace it.
The reality is that even the fundamentalists are fine with some changes--they just tend to cherry-pick ones to remain steadfastly observant of (usually those that don't inconvenience them too much).
Listen it does not matter to me if they are gay or lesbian what they do in their bedrooms is there own personal choice, I cannot judge because personally I have to answer to God for what I do and do not have time to be judging others.

In discussion here on hubpages, we hear some accuses religion people of being judgemental and more over accuses religious people of forcing their believes and policies on the American people through laws...That is not the religion or people I know. Where is this disconnect coming from?Could it be...

I'm reading Tania Levin's memoir about being in and out of a pentecostal megachurch (Hillsong - formed from AoG). It's a fascinating read, and I share a lot of her observations. Tania describes Hillsong as a cult and gives reasons why. They are after recruitment and money. People don't...
