Do you believe in mediums?
If u watch tlc there is a show called long island medium. Do you believe or are you a skeptic??
I am open to the possibility, and I myself feel that I have occasionally had spiritual and emotional contact with people who have passed away. At the same time, as a scientist, I don't think it is provable at a scientific level at this time.
Also, even if some people are mediums, that doesn't mean that everyone who claims to be actually does it. They may be fooling themselves or others some or all of the time. And I've found that stuff that shows up on TV, or anything involving popularity, fame, or money, is more likely to be false than real.
I believe there are and have been real mediums but they're rare, the true ones that is. Much chicanery in that business. Maybe those passed on to the other side don't appreciate being disturbed by the few that can really reach into that realm? Maybe there are exceptions, just a thought.
I am with Alastar Packer on this one. There is a medium or two somewhere in this world, with genuine powers, most likely. But people with true divine gifts don't hunger for their own shows on American television or radio. They won't be soliciting your business on the Internet. They don't have to.
I believe that a person who claims to be a "medium" has powers that most certainly do not come from God....things like palm reading, seances, etc. are satanic. The Bible speaks about a girl who was following the Jesus' disciples who was a medium, and they cast out demons out of her, and she no longer had her powers. Satan and his demons are able to trick people by showing them "ghosts", or hearing the voice of loved ones, which would make them seek a medium to try to contact them. This is not from God, because the dead do not know anything-they are either in Heaven or Hell, and unable to contact us. No one can "know" the future except God, our Father.
Mediums are a reality, so I must believe in their existence; however, that doesn't mean I believe in the veracity of their assertions.
I am a paranormal investigator and at one point we were honored to have a medium that worked with us. She was a remarkible person who always seemed to know things she could not possibly know. Unfortunatly she developed a very sad disease that made her mind regress back to childhood. I can honestly say I have not been able to work with a medium the same since.
I believe there are people with special gifts -- spiritual gifts -- not enjoyed by everyone. As to the word "medium" -- I can't use that as most of the "mediums" and/or "psychics" I've been aware of either charge for their services or solicit "free will" donations. Those with a true "gift" are always willing to share it, free of any charge, in the interest of enhancing the lives of their fellow human beings. So, yes, I believe there are among us persons with exceptional and unusual spiritual knowledge not shared by all BUT...no, I don't believe in mediums.
