Earnest, I am shocked! You speak your beliefs with such fervent passion that I fear you may have inadvertently become a "believer". But then, if the Monkees and Neil Diamond fall victim to the disease ("Then I saw her face; now I'm a believer...") there's little hope for the rest of us getting out with our intellect intact. I'll pray for you, Brother!

If Christians can not come to the forums to discuss their beliefs with other Christians;  without Atheists feeling like we are shoving it down their throats, where are we supposed to go.
If believers are kept segregated out of public hearing, we will never come to any common understanding.
Church buildings are too ofter gathering places for like minded believers to reaffirm their own existing doctrine.
Constant interbreeding of Ideas leads no where.
When two Christians of diffrent denominations share their system of beliefs, we are working towards understanding of these differences. When we learn how to listen instead of simply waiting for our chance for rebuttal; Conversation will have been achieved and Tolerance and self awareness should follow.
If we are misguided in our beliefs, we will find our way to understanding this on our own, We may sometimes need a little incouragement to think out side of our confort zone but we will eventually arive at our intended destination.

And just for the record, I do not think that God is as single minded as most denominations would like to think.
I will naturally believe that my beliefs are correct when I am not allowed to hear any others.

Christians are generally open minded. However we too do not like to be mocked. Or have our sentences mocked. Learning is one thing, however being joked about is insulting. God was insulted by satan when he tried to take control of our soles/world. Thank goodness he lost.

Oh - I thought you believed Satan was in charge of this world. Silly me. Perhaps if you Christians came up with a coherent belief system? That might help.

Oh - and the all-powerful, invisible super being becoming His own son to save His creation, that He loves so much He decided to burn the non believers for not believing thing - not making a lot of sense. Sorry. Hard not to laugh. Talking snakes, jealousy, animals in an Ark and demons in disguise. What do you expect exactly?

Open minded huh? So - I take it you are open to the probability that your beliefs are nonsense......... Right?

Ah - you must be a Kristian then.

They are all over thinking that - this is called "tolerance" as far as I can tell. wink

Being open minded does not mean one believes in the invisible and undetectable with such fervor and fundamentalism that they are unable to accept anything other than those myths and superstitions indoctrinated into them.

Try this on for size: I am VERY Liberal, and Christian. I believe this is not a doctrinal conflict in any manner.

But The reason why there seems to be so much Christian-Bashing is because Christians love to bash. I think it's healthy if they get a dose of their own medicine. There's a forum thread somewhere about Islam, and all it was was Christians bashing Islam, with a few muslims trying to defend their faith. Guess what happened? The Christians stopped bashing Islam alone, and got a little more... personal with their bashing of the Muslim defenders.

Yeah, them Bush lovers really love jesus.  Let's invade countries illegally, kill those who get in our way and put our political buddies to work making millions by supposedly trying to build the places back up.  But let's do this at the expense of future generations of Americans.  Bush and the extreme right are so unchrist like that they make atheist liberals look like saints.

I don't understand why you would assume that 'Conservative' and 'Christian' always go hand in hand.  Your argument (if we can call it that) doesn't sounds terribly intelligent. Both sides have their faults.

I think people hate christians because 1) it is a new trend and is fashionable. 2) because they have seen the hypocresy that some display in their post church activities. 2) because the media and the powers behind the scenes are actively promoting a hatred of christians. 3) because we are in the end of days. 4)because they dont know Christ.

If we look at the qualities mankind has and with demonic influence it's not hard to see that since Adam & Eve mankind has always been opposited to God.  We are prideful, lustful, hateful, envious, liars, false acusers

And we stand up beating our chest like we're so great.  They hatred of God will continue until judgement day for another aspect of humans is we are also selfish.

Nope, people in general are compassionate and altruistic. It is only the religions that decree such things in order to maintain order within their flocks.

Can't hate something that doesn't exist. wink

If God doesn't exist then why do non-believers keep talking about him?

Tell you what - you believers stop talking about it - we will stop telling you it is a figment of your imagination.

          Deal? wink

We always talk about things that are destroying mankind so that we can come to a solution. In the case of religion, it is the childhood indoctrination process that starts the destruction, first the mind, then the self, then mankind.

    Just a thought...
Maybe christians do not hate sinners, they hate the sin.

Maybe Atheists don't hate Christians; Maybe they hate some of their behaviors.

And like one country and western song (I hate everything) says
    Some people hate everybody.
I think that everybody has got a little bit of hate in um.

I "admitt" only to hating cooked spinache.
Anything else I am not admiting too. Not out loud

They only talk about it, because religious people continue to bring it up.  I figured that was obvious, but not everything is obvious to all, so I have to point it out. hmm

    1. SpanStar profile image61
SpanStarposted 14 years agoin reply to this

You'll notice when believers talk about God most but not all times it's in a fourm where it's expected to be talked about.

  11. Cagsil profile image70
    Cagsilposted 14 years ago

Of course they talk in a religious forum.  It is a topic category? hmm  Again, obvious.  However, they talk about it, as if it is real, when by all accounts they themselves cannot even see their own delusion.

So, how can a believer tell the difference between reality and imagination? They cannot.... hmm

I have a better question- Prove God Doesn't Exist!

Are you throwing that out there because you cannot demonstrate your god exists? That last bastion?

  12. Cagsil profile image70

And for what is worth- I do not hate Christians. I hate the fact that they try to justify their lies and perpetuate their view, as if it is truth.
