    Why does god require Worshipping?

God apparently requires us to build churches, worship, pray and think about him everyday? Why?

It seems like a childish and selfish requirement to me and I do not understand why such and big all knowing all seeing deity would require us to do these things.

Agreed! Wouldn't people be better off getting out there and helping others than sitting in a Church!

I think helping others is a form of worship, whatever we do speaks of who or what we worship.

According to the Bible, God created man for the sole purpose of glorifying Him. If you truly believe in the godhead (the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit), and you know the things that He does for us every day, then worshiping and working to glorify Him every day is the absolute least that we can do to thank Him.

The question is why does he require thanking?

He doesn't require it, God would go on with or without the thanks. But we as humans need to show thanks for what our Creator has done for us. It also serves as a reminder that we cannot do anything alone, and that salvation is only by His grace.

This isn't about God needing us to recharge His batteries or some such.

And it's not motivated by selfishness.

It's motivated by love, because His children have become trapped and this is a rescue mission.

The rescue can only happen if each individual is humble. Think long and hard on that word. Our own arrogance is what traps us here. Worship is humility in action.

The rescue can only happen if we decide to be rescued. Not "worshiping" is a decision not to be rescued.

Most people cannot understand this, because they're confused as to their own identity. God created us in His image and likeness, but -- and this is the really important part -- God is not Homo sapiens!

These human bodies are temporary vehicles

God doesn’t require anything from us. It is we who think we are required to do these things we do at church.

A truth god would be beyond human comprehension. But the order of the ancients are wise and they called it the "Unknown".
