I drink a glass of water, or two. I don't know when I picked up this habit, but I can't function if I don't get my water.
Then comes the coffee and the rest.
Imma coffee drinker too ! Stumbling to the coffee pot starts my day
Unfortunately, A cigarette but I like your idea! It used to be I couldn't have a cig until after lunch. Don't EVER start smoking!
Me too. I had not thought of it, but on my way from the bathroom, I drink hot water and take one tablet before sitting in prayer. See my first answer.
Let the cats out of the bathroom. If they run freely around the house, I would never get any sleep. Chasing each other, playing with noisy toys, moving all of the rugs...
Drink my Shakeology and check my email. Follow that up with a workout.
Well not to be facetious; however, it would be opening my eyes to the most beautiful better-half (my wife). Then I take 20 minutes to read the daily Liturgy of the Hours; followed by walking my Belgian Mali to our hood's Starbucks for some bantering with other java-junkies like myself. Then its home again, home again for a quick fix-up and off to college (please don't criticize me for still being at college after I began as a student in 1979) I know, I know that equates to 34 years or 1/3 of a century; I'm a slow learner...
Every morning when I open my eyes I start my day with prayer. Asking God to bless another new day of my life.
Practice is the key. I say this because if one has ben praying and meditating for 30 years, one is hardly likely to think of anything else on awakening. I sometimes go straight to my shrine, that is post gratitude and remembrance on awakening. But generally I would make it straight to the bath, wash my hands and face, scrub my teeth, and then return to my shrine for spiritual practice. This takes about 30 mins.
Should you wish to do this and start at 06.00 hrs, then it is better to have all your clothes and food, etc, ready to go as prepared the previous night. This way, you will be thinking only about your shrine and God.

What's you first drink in the morning? Tea, coffee, juice or maybe something else? And why?I am a huge tea drinker (English upbringing) but my first drink of the day is always a coffee. I think it's just habit as it is quick and easy using my Keurig one-cup coffee maker. How...
