Why do the Signs Not follow Most of those Professing to be Ministers of The Gospel?

Scripture tell us that these signs WILL follow (all) those who believe and are baptized.   Why do we not see these signs following the majority of those professing to be ministers?    Or most Christians?
Mark 16: 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.  17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;  18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."
    NKJV

Perhaps the Christian strings attached gospel is no gospel at all. Perhaps if they preached that Jesus will save all mankind, they will see the miracles promised.

No that won't work.     I have met a lot of the big boys in that false doctrine and they dont follow them either.

Ah well Celafoe, that's just too bad. If God loves people so much that he's going to wilfully torment them in fire forever, he's hardly going to grant signs to the living.

Interesting, but then I have seen most of the signs when I minister so must disagree

The only ones I've seen personally to follow those signs were Pentecostal.

Yes, They definately do not follow anyone that is not baptized in the Holy Spirit.   And not many of them actually have signs following all the time.

Scripture doesn't say the signs will follow every time or all the time; just says the signs will follow. Not trying to find a copout, just pointing out the wording.

The modern "Church" was invented in the 7th. century. Greece and Rome split the true church in half. The Greek church became the Orthodox or church of the East and the Roman church took the West. There is a parallel church at work in the world; its all in the Bible. Most can't handle the Truth because most like the ancient Israelites prefer the slavery of Egypt ( the secular world) to the Freedom Jesus offers. Jesus wasn't concerned with tithes and offering, something the modern church could not survive without. You can't serve both, God and stuff...If the Church is not witnessing signs and wonders then it isn't Jesus Church...His In Service

I think some ministers might not believe that the supernatural is for the present day, and they most likely won't see that happening in their ministries. On the other hand, other ministers might believe that  "signs and wonders" are for today, but they might not exercise the level of faith to see the miraculous happen.

I would agree and add a couple.  Some are not even born again and many are hirelings, AT any rate NONE of these  mentioned have any business "leading" or teaching God's flock.   That is why the church has  no power these days.   Powerless ministry.

If that would be the case, millions of lives would have been spared from trying to prove faith. Maybe Jones town would never had happened or the inquisition would have never taken place.

if people would learn to study for themselves and do so properly most of todays churches would be out of business, because they would see the lies and manipulation.

In order for signs to follow, you have to look like Jesus and follow in his footsteps (his example). Jesus had the characteristics of His Father and Jesus also maintain a lifestyle of fasting and prayer. People have mastered prayer, but don't won't to pass up the plate. The Bible already tells us these come not out but by fasting and prayer. And, these signs shall follow them who believe and Holy Spirit filled may I add because the Holy Spirit is power, and the energizer of the gifts of the spirit. So, one must be Holy Spirit filled and have faith and maintain the life of prayer and fasting. If you have none of these, then you have no signs.
