Can there be a police-station if there are no crimes at all? Can there be an antivirus if there are no viruses at all? Can there be an answer if there is no question? It's possible, but their actual objective would be completed already and they would be useless.

We differentiate good and bad because these two are two different aspects. If there was only one, then the word 'good' or 'bad' would not be there because everybody would be of the same character.

This is an interesting topic to think on. First of all, I don't believe that there is a Heaven at all. That doesn't mean I oppose the beliefs of other people.

Let's assume Heaven as 'Good' and Hell as 'Evil'. There is good, because there is the existence of the evil. Evil is separating itself from Good. But then again, if all evil demolishes, Good will still exist. So, yes, there can be a Heaven without Hell.

Thank you for asking such an interesting question! I love philosophy.

I do believe in the balance of opposites but it's hard for me to believe in a hell of eternal torment, and I'm not too sure about heaven either. Thanks for your response.

These concepts of heaven and hell are the outcome of man's mind venturing into carefree abandon to create fantasies in his comfort zone. This could have been possible only because that man did not remain as wild any  more and therefore he could not act like the beasts. He had made a social system and had developed relations like father, mother, sister, brother, husband , wife and so on unlike wild animals. In order to maintain a social decor and order, these concepts were conceived in the name of God by the very shrewd and intelligent persons. In the present age, we must discard these immature concepts and rather engage in more constructive thoughts in order to create heaven on earth itself. Wherever poverty, illiteracy, malnutrition, exploitation, pollution, ignorance, terrorism etc, exist, there is hell. People ignore this apparent hell in sight but fear the unknown hell of eternity.it all depends on us whether we make a big heaven or big hell on earth.

I do believe that the idea of heaven brings comfort to the weary mind, but the whole going to heaven upon death idea still escapes me.

Yes, you are right, it really gives comfort. There are guys on this planet who love and instill love in others and create heaven here itself. We just ignore the power of mind,it can create anything it  desires, God has built it this way.

First, this is basically a religious concept. Being a Christian my answer is no. There are religious sects that do not believe in hell. When asking this type of question, you have to be mindful of the audience that will look at this question and respond. There are people that try to "reason away" everything. The Bible, creation, the origin of man ... these are concepts that the Christian looks at in terms of his/her belief. Considering the composition of the earth and the mentality of so call "Modern Man" there will be those who of course don't believe in anything. Christianity is a "faith walk." Just because someone doesn't believe doesn't make it not true. There were those who thought the earth was flat, but it's not. There were those who thought the sun revolved around the earth, but it doesn't. So, until some people have absolute proof of the existence of Heaven and Hell, they will not believe.

No, there cannot be a heaven without a hell. Not as far as any understanding Christian will tell you. One thing is for sure ... I would rather believe in this concept and be found right than to not believe in this concept and be found wrong!

I totally agree with your last statement "I would rather believe in this concept and be found right than to not believe in this concept and be found wrong!" I would rather be safe than sorry.

    Absolutely.

Before the creation of dichotomies, there was God in Heaven.

Hell is a combination of things, including separation and darkness. These were possible when some of God's children decided to turn away -- to become separate.

Perfect love and humility heal the separation.

I have to agree with you. There was a time when everything was perfect. Hell was created for the fallen angels and now the unrighteous.
      Revelations 12:7-9.
