What do Paul and Timothy mean when they say we must "be of one accord"?

    Phil 2:1-2

Php 2:1-2   Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, 2 fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

To be of one accord is to be in agreement, just like in the Pirates of the Caribbean films...."Do we have an accord Captain", "a ha we do Captain Jack"!lol

celafoe- I believe Paul and Timithy both were trying to explain that there is only ONE doctrine and that is how we are to  " be of one accord". The Holy Spirit will guide us into this doctrine. Like minded in that we (as the true church) agree with the doctrine we are guided into by the Spirit of truth. The bible is the doctrine in print. The Spirit of truth guides us throughout the printed doctrine for understanding of truth. Which is why self study is utmost important to each beleiver. You need the Spirit of truth to guide and reveal truth in the written word of God.

    Great question celafoe. God bless.
