You don't believe in God, because you cannot see him, can you see the WIND?
I know there are all sorts of reason and philosophy out there to deter you from believing in my GOD. Well my simple question to you is can you see the wind? If you cannot see God and that is your stance for not believing in a spirit, then explain to me your belief in there is wind blowing etc? because I have never seen the wind.
Practically speaking, the existance of God cannot be proved simply by an analogy such as this. I'm not sure that the existance of God can be either proved or disproved at all. But I'd like to comment that there are scientific ways to measure and chart the course of the wind, besides the simple fact that we can FEEL the wind.
Hi Rob yes i agree about the feeling we all know we can feel the wind but we cannot see it. So therefore science with their ideology of charting the wind. I can prove their is a good because i FEEL HIM IN MY SOUL just as we feel the wind. He is ALIVE
I understand what you are saying. However, subjective experience (I feel him in my soul) is not the same as physically feeling the wind. The wind can be verified because everyone feels it. Your feelings about God could be feeling coming from yourself
Ok Bruce! I am positive not only i feel him there, that was just one aspect of knowing that God exist but i was just relating my feeling as opposed to seeing with the wind, but feeling something and knowing there is a presence whether i see it or not
Thanks for being polite, LadyF. As you can now see it all really comes down to opinion. Like I said before, I don't think God can be proven OR disproven in a concrete way. Belief in God comes down to having faith.
No problem Rob i hope you have a bless day and thanks much for coming by i appreciate your time and responses.
Also we can say it depends on who he will let himself be found. Many will not see him ,because they seek something else as being important . So when people do not believe that is real to them .Because God Almighty invites. No one is forced to accept
Link you cannot physically feel him because you don't have a connection with him. And i talk to him EVERY LIVING day he walks with me and he talks with me. He has made me who i am. " pathetic is an unbeliever in God" one day u will wanna feel him....
Lady F...do you happen to live in Colorado or Washington state? They have recently legalized marijuana and I'm wondering if you take a few puffs while writing on Hubpages...? :-D
You can ask your self . I exist ,I walk and talk, laugh, cry, smile, I exist, out of the many that could have been born in my place I exist. Many will never be born, but I exist.
Not by my power ,but the power of the one who organized the cell, DNA, the one who program what my eye color I will have. What hair, I would have, what skin color.
If man can make robots or machinery or electronics many things created with 10% of our brain capacity then what can God do with over 100's and 100's of his power .he made the sun ,the moon the stars, the waters, the land we walk. And the many variety of animals. If we we can make a habitat for animals ,like the many zoo's for animals and Aquariums for variety of fish, why would it be hard for A greater intelligence to create our home. Our luminaries , our water sources. It is not hard at all .
AAAAH! Kiss and Tales i love your answer that is samething i think...... Why do they just surround themselves about not seeing God. There are many things we cannot see but we believe it's there. 4 instance i cannot see a perfume on som1 but can smell
Thank you for this subject of discussion . You are correct. Not all things are visible to the eye ,yet like you mention fragrance lets you know it is present.
DNA was invisible years ago . It was there all the time. Man just discovered more about it
Link my point is trying to tell ppl like u u don't hav d 6th sense u hav absolutely no sight and feelin spiritually.Men Rather DARKNESS MORE THAN LIGHT FOR THEIR DEEDS R EVIL. God speaks too many people maybe your not of his caliber. Humble ur PRIDE!
There is a large difference between emotional feelings and physical feelings. The wind blew a tree down in my yard. I physically felt the air on my face, I heard the tree snap, I saw the tree fall, and I had to physically move the tree the wind knocked down. Wind is blowing air, which is proven to keep me alive. Comparing wind to a God is comparing apples to watermelons. I don't believe in a god, however simply not seeing one is not my sole reason. However if I did see a god, I would believe, not worship, but believe. If you choose to worship a being you can't prove, that is fine by me. It's none of my business what anyone believes until they start imposing their beliefs on others.
Hi Peeples well that's true your entitled to your own opinion and own belief. However you saw the tree fell you knew it was wind because it blew you felt it. You did not see the wind no one has ever seen the wind. Thanks for coming by . Peace 2 u
But you physically (not emotionally) feel it. A blind person can feel wind physically even with no sight.
Yes sweetheart whether blind or with site we can never see the wind. My invisible God is always with me everyday keeping me alive physically and spiritually and emotionally. He uses physical people to prove his love etc to me, i c him tru nature also
You can physically see the effects of wind. A tornado is made mostly of wind and you can see a tornado. Hurricanes and wind activity can be seen on monitors, etc. We can physically feel and measure wind.
It's not really the same to compare God to the wind.
I see the wind. Don't know what is wrong with the rest of you. I'm staring at it at this very moment. It is beautiful. Don't believe me? Well, good luck proving it.
Well junkseller then maybe your immortal lol so have us excused. Snap a picture of it for me ok
We're all equipped with five senses, so we have more ways to perceive the wind than just sight. I don't think anyone would question the wind's existence when it's blowing them over. However god can be perceived with none of those senses. If he could, everyone would be a theist. And it isn't a matter of being open to him because the wind will still blow over someone who doesn't believe in it.
However, even if we couldn't perceive the wind directly, we have ways to measure it. For example, a meteorologist in Florida could know that it's going to be windy in California because of a moving cold front he observes on his instruments. Or a scientist can observe the behavior of air particles using sophisticated machinery. So, where the human senses fail, technological senses can also perceive wind. But, god cannot be perceived with technical observations either.
Since wind passes both the human and machine tests of existence, it's safe to conclude that it does exist. Since god passes neither the human nor the machine tests of existence, it's safe to conclude that he doesn't exist. That is the difference.
I am sorry to disappoint you Dremer but just as science can prove to you that everything evolved or exist I to can so to with my God not just only by feeling but by my six sense "My SOUL" by things he has done for me that science CANNOT,by nature etc
While personal perception is the prevailing argument for god, it cannot be replicated by skeptics. Which is different than wind because wind can be verified by those who don't believe in it.
Well u will plain stupid not to believe there is wind when it can blow you over.I never saw God & i believe in him cuz i feel him etc .& no atheist is gonna shove their science evolution and big bang theory down my throat. Gday dreamer KEEP D
MT, yours is an argument to ignorance type logical fallacy about God. The universe exists, therefore He IS. God passes the reality test. He's the source of all that we see.
Lone, I really dont think you are one to speak of ignorance at all. I am going to humor you for a second. Sure, the existence of the universe is proof of god, but how is it proof of YOUR god and not the other million religion's gods that came before?
With the right chemicals involved you can see the wind. It is actually a cool experiment. Religion is very much a part of society but remember you need all types of people to make a society a solid society. If everybody was religious and under the same religion than wouldn't life be lacking. What makes life interesting is meeting people with different views on the world. I would not want to live in a world where everybody was a atheist like myself because religious brings something to society that Atheism can't and the same for religion. Thanks to science, the world is a great place that is still involving and if they didn't exist we wouldn't have the advanced medicine, travel vehicles, and more push for rights. So instead of trying to put hate to people who do not believe in God be grateful they exist.
Hi Melissa thanks much for your comment but where did you gather the hat notion from in my question? I mentioned nowhere that I hate atheist etc. Its a question I ASKED!
it is true. I apologize. I didn't mean to say that I thought you hated atheist.
Melissa thanks again for coming back to my question. I do not hate atheist my prayer is that someday they see the light and there are many atheist that God showed himself to sometimes on their death beds etc. Nor does God hate them or u
Some people have 5 senses. Some have 6.
The start of spirituality comes with a small, glimmering spark of the 6th sense -- a feeling in some unknown "direction" (or non-direction).
The blind cannot see color. The non-spiritual cannot see spirit. It's their limitation -- their immaturity as spiritual beings. But like any child, we need to love them despite their tantrums.
Hi lone77star thanks for your comment i appreciate it thanks much. Its true what u have said.
...are you serious? That is your example? Just because I cant physically see the wind (although I can clearly see the effects the wind has on trees, grass, skyscrapers etc), means I shouldnt think wind exists?
What type of shrooms were you taking when you thought up that comparison? Thats like saying humans dont exist to a blind person just because he cannot see them regardless of the fact that he can not only hear them but touch them as well. I can physically feel the wind, I can generate it if I flap my hands fast enough or use a plate. So not only can I feel wind but I can make it as well, so obviously it exists.
God on the other hand has not been proven in the slightest. One cannot see god, one cannot speak to god, and one cannot physically feel god. So the logical conclusion is that god does not exist, but taking into account the larger than life question "Where did we come from", we cannot prove that god does not exist. The question "Does god exist" simply does not have an answer yet and may never have a definitive answer.
To say that god obviously exists because the universe does is damn near mental when again, you cannot see, feel, or hear god in any instance that does not involve a mass delusional state or the most hard core drugs you can find.
Your experience is not like everyone else's, in your life and situation what you have experience on the subject may be true. But you can not say what another's experience may be. There was a time DNA did not exist .and today it has great meaning.
DNA has always existed...we were just not able to unravel its mysteries until the past few decades/centuries
That is true . That is what I was trying to give example of man discoveries are slow in advancement . But that did not mean what DNA was and what it tells us about the human body never existed because we did not know of it details. And how it works.
I really do not know what point you are trying to make. I stated that the answer to the question "Does god exist" is not possible to answer at this moment in time (by anyone), if it ever will be due to lack of evidence. So what are you trying to say?
I am trying to say some one else's experience is not the same as yours. You speak for your own experience. The point is we can not get upset with people who experience something we have not . Yet as long as we live that can change anytime.
Ok kiss and tales your right but on the other hand they cannot try to make me believe there way!
LF that is all I am trying to say ,it is not what people say. It is what people experience ,including your own. They can not relate to yours because they have not crossed that road yet ,and that is real to them. But it does not mean they won't.
Hey kiss and tales hope your having a bless evening. Stay bless
Thanks ladyfiddler I always love the kindness and blessings anyone would like me to have. And I do receive them .that gives me happiness and gratefulness .
Thanks you again.
Okay Kiss and Tales that is nice of you . Thanks again for your contribution
Why are you saying we can't see wind? Have you never seen a tornado? ...
And why did you feature the monkey picture? Its message is that intelligence is linked to 'questioning everything you think you know'.
So, it looks like you are saying that those who think they know their god but don't question the existence of god and their relationship etc are unintelligent.
Okay, well I see the logic. I can't really argue with that. It seems a bit odd though that you are encouraging us to view unquestioning believers as lacking intelligence.
Seems to me that churches encourage followers to think they know everything without questioning. So what does that tell us?
Baby boomer the ape is to represent where people like you think you came from isn't that what evolution teaches you all.Who do not believe in God. So i think you so can relate well to your existence.Unlike me who know where i came from.Have me EXCUSE
Your answer makes no sense, and you haven't answered my questions. I'll watch for your next reply. Thank you.
I think it will make more sense if you get on the train of unbelief and get going to another destination. I am having a splendid sunday and choose not to entertain your type today. Try back tomorrow i may have room in the inn. U NEED LIGHT...#urlost
As far as I have seen, it was never said that Boomer lack a belief, so why are you assuming that Lady? Legitimate questions were asked and you ignored them. What a true saint.
Link, it seems that is the way religions handle difficult questions (and there are a lot of them)---by ignoring them. They seldom address a hard question head on. Changing the subject is the name of the game.
Rob and link i not afraid to answer any questions nor am i afraid of any of u God haters or opposers. But when fools are set in their ways u have to leave them to wallow in their hog wash. Nothing u say can change them ....perhaps when death comes...
Again, Boomer never stated a non belief. And you say you are not afraid to answer questions, but when asked questions you deflect and say its better to remain ignorant.
Your sainthood is blinding.

If there is a God, Why can we not see Him?Iwould first like to remove one misconceptionwhich commonly besets people with regard tothe existence of God. If there is a God, why arewe not able to see Him? This is hardly a newquestion, and we have heard it from timeimmemorial. The Holy Quran tells us...

Do you believe that Jesus did exist? If so what is your proof?
by Link10103 10 years ago
I can understand the positives of putting your faith in such and such religion, which is why I do not think religion as a whole should be completely eradicated, however in this day and age I honestly wouldn't mind if it was.My question is this: why does religion NEED to exist? If you say "So...

What if God does not exist? What if there is no God. What if he was the invention of humanity trying to control humanity. What if God is to people what Santa Claus is to kids - somebody not to piss off because you just wanna get your loot (or place in "Heaven") in the end.

As a fellow human being,i want to ask if we could exist without a belief of something o one greater than ourselves.I believe if there was no God we'd have to invent Him.
by Peter Freeman 14 years ago
I keep hearing and reading this phrase and I must confess it doesn't make sense to me. I know what "Believe" means and I know what "in" means. It's when the two words are put together I don't understand.Phrases like "Do you believe in God?" or; "I believe in...
