Can a Priest be stripped of his Priesthood?
I've heard of Doctors, Lawyers and even Teachers losing their right to practice their trade, being stripped of their title and their vocation when they've done something wrong, yet I have never heard of a Priest being stripped of his vocation and I wondered if any one else has. It seems a Priest can do wrong and still stay a priest.
To the knowledge I have a priest may lose the status of a clerical state or position of office shall we say. However, regarding the metaphysical state most teachings reflect that cannot be lost. Kinda' like can someone not be human any longer. Great question and thank you for the pause to ponder.
