   Why do so many "churches" that profess to be Christian accept and even use psychology as valid.
   
   Scripture tells us to crucify our flesh not to make provision for lt as the un-Godly psycho cult teaches. 
   Gal 5:24-26  24 And those who are
   Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

   Psychology studies the mind & mechanisms of people.  Churches have evolved from the time that the illogical inducement of fear was accepted religious practice.  People have become more educated & educated, intelligent people don't/ won't respond to elementary fear &/or rudimentary tactics which was associated with religion in the past.   Modern churches use more advanced & educated methodology to inform their congregants.

   As a politically/socially organized assemblies, no matter big or small, though under the label "churches", traditionally professing to be "christian", might be using psychology as valid only for one reason - which is they are dealing at the intellectual level to satisfy " needs" of people who never bin spiritually reborn into the Life of the heavenly Father.
   If you would, plese read previous verses, Gal.5: 19 -- ( the original texts do not haver chapters or verses) - Paul the apostle is listing "sinful nature " of some members among organized "christianity" - indicating the life of natural-sinful- individuals not living under the ANOINTING of the Holy Spirit- the Christ-like nature.
   The argument of twenty fifth verse doesn't need any further explanation " If the Spirit has given us our new life, let us follow the leading of the Spirit."

      agreed--  it is just further proof of how far the "church" system of man is away from Christianity.    If only people would open their eyes and study scripture and follow Christ instead of apostate false ministers.  it would transform the world

      Charlie I think I am not understanding your definition of psychology. There are many branches and different schools of thought in psychology. Are you suggesting that the study of why and how we think is satanic. Is psychiatry the same?

      eric-- yes i am.   look at the founders of the cult, most un-godly men.  the scriptures are clear we are not to understand the flesh (natural man) we are to crucify (kill) him.  real Christians are a spiritual person living in a natural shell for now

      Thank you for that clarification. Where do you draw the line? Medicine in general is only to heal the "flesh". The complex nervous and gland system in our bodies goes haywire sometimes. Are you saying that no medical help with the flesh is ok?

      eric- certainly not. i do believe that healing is available to Christians.  I have personally seen many documented healings.   but I would never advocate not using a dr when needed. the psych cult is a very new thing, medical dr are long established

      eric-- psych is dealing in the spiritual realm , which has eternal consequences.    we will leave the physical body behind, it has no eternal value.   if an MD(real dr) is using psycho babble it is also wrong.  against scrpture no matter who uses it

      Thank you for being so patient. What is the scripture that prevents psycho-therapy? I am talking real full fledged Doctors here with years of medical training. I am ready to be convinced as it is for me something my faith can deal with.

      Read it and you go too far. Psychiatrists are by definition Medical Doctors. A faith that says you should not go to physicians is cultish. I hope that a depressed person is not possessed by your thoughts. These are chemical imbalances not evil.

   Here is a short list of the glands in the body:
   Adrenal Glands. Hypothalamus, Ovaries, Pancreas, Parathyroid, Pineal Gland, pancreas, Pituitary Gland and Testes.
   Lymph nodes make up another system of producing chemicals in the body.
   Then we take up the nervous system “According to Neurogenetics at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, the human body has 95 to 100 billion neurons or nerve cells. The brain alone has at least 85 billion of these cells, although estimates go as high as 1 trillion.”
   There are acids, hormones and thousands of other chemical components that go into the human body.
   For an MD to be certified in Psychiatry they get what is called a “neurology-psychiatry” board certification. About ten years of undergraduate and medical school and about 2 years of psychiatric training. Psychiatrists are medical doctors that are knowledgeable and skilled in all of the above systems in our body. They are medical doctors.
   If my Hypothalamus is acting all wonkers I could become depressed or manic or bi-polar. If the MD prescribes certain medications this can be corrected. The problems associated with such a disorder can further be treated with some behavior modifications and therapy and the damage greatly reduced.
   If I suffer a stroke and there is nerve damage in my brain that is effecting life functions an MD can help to restore the deficit through medication and therapy that is effective often. That MD may well be board certified in neurology-psychiatry.
   Schizophrenia can be treated with medications so that the symptoms are not so severe as to cause life changing problems like hallucinations which are caused by a combination of nerve disorder and chemical imbalances in the body.
   My problem is not with the wonderful scripture you provide in your hub on the matter it is with your rather narrow minded concept of what a physician is. Neurosurgery is real, glandular problems are real. Psychiatrists can help with the biomechanical functions of the body that are touchable and testable and treatable.
   The actual fields of oncology and hematology are only a hundred years old. Cancer was untreatable as late as the 20th century for the most part. The fact that psychiatry as a separate field is only about 160 years old means very little. Computers are not addressed in the Bible or are they. Psychiatry certainly is when there is any reference to a physician or healer other than miracle workers. When was the last there was a Leprosy colony?

      your lack of knowledge and narrow mind are wrong.  there is even a leper colony currently in the USA.  I did not discredit neurology, only the entire psycho stuff as does scripture. what is not of God is to be killed not studied.   where is scripture

      Matt 25:35, Isaiah 58:10, James 2:14-18, Luke 3:11, 1 John 3:17-18. Why would we not take care of the flesh of our brothers? You profess faith without good works. I profess caring for others as we can and are able.

      Interesting that scripture having to do with feeding and taking care of the flesh has nothing to do with being against psychology because it deals with the flesh. Well aren't you better than scripture.

   Did you all forget this commandment: "Thou shalt love the love the LORD thy GOD with ALL thy HEART, and with all thy SOUL, and with all thy MIND. 38 This is the first and great commandment" (Matthew 22:37-38)!
   
   Psychology is man "persuading" the MIND based on his "interpretation" of how one should think or feel based on scientific evidence which is in TOTAL contradiction to the WORD of GOD. 
   
   When Matthew 22:37-38 says we are to love the LORD with ALL our HEART, SOUL, and MIND, then we allow man to persuade by applying his "interpretation" of how we should think or feel, is it not contrary to the WORD of GOD?
   
   Did not John 14:26 and 16:13 say {paraphrasing} "HE would lead and guide us...?"  Why then would we seek psychiatric advice over JESUS (aka Holy Spirit)?  Why would we take "advice" from "man" who has messed everything up this world has to offer!  Do you trust man rather than GOD?   When we "need" psychiatric help (or think we do), it's because we don't BELIEVE that "HE will give us PERFECT peace" (Isaiah 26:3)!     
   
   Ephesians 6:10-18 says {paraphrasing} this is a "Spiritual" Battle of the MIND and to allow man's thinking to influence, Woe, be unto you!
   
   I don't mind doctors for the body (prayerfully), but the MIND?  Don't we think we have enough "demonic" influence?
