When you can tell me what the lottery numbers are going to be for next week, you're psychic big_smile

In all seriousness though, everyone is psychic to some degree. Whether it is that feeling you get in your stomach right before something bad happens or those little de ja vu dreams everyone has, those are little glimpses into your psychic ability.

We have no 'psychic' ability. There are plenty of instances where a bad feeling leads to nothing happening at all - we tend not to remember feeling that way as a 'bad feeling' leading to nothing bad whatsoever isn't overly memorable. People who have a 'bad feeling' prior to something bad happening too often mistake it for psychic ability when it is simply the brain recognising a threat prior to one becoming fully conscious of the exact danger. The body going through the early stages of the fight or flight instinct is where the bad feeling comes from.

De javu is also not a mystery - nor psychic. Once thought a psychic ability by some to explain just why it happens. It is better understood these days via several scientific theories. People still make money out of conning people into believing otherwise which is disgustingly deceptive.

When I was in the military, I was hanging out with some friends in the stag bar at the NCO club when an announcement was made that a drawing was about to  take place for a $100 US savings bond in conjunction with a promotional tour by "Miss Us Savings Bonds".

When members joined the NCO club, the stub from their membership card was retained for use in a variety of drawings each month. The stubs of the thousands of members were put ino a large drum and after a thourough spinning, cards were drawn for whatever prizes were being given out.

When I heard the announcement, I instantly knew that I was going to win the $100 savings bond. I stood up from the table where I was seated with my friends, took out my wallet, and extracted my membership card. I then told my companions that I was going to win the drawing and I would be back in a few minutes.
They laughed and jeered as I strode out of the stag bar into the huge main room of the club. A center aisle ran from the back of the club about a hundred or so feet to the stage where the drawing was being held. I stood in the aisle at the back of the room with my card in my hand and waited until the winning card was drawn. I then walked up to the stage and claimed my prize.

It's amazing how we remember the "hits" but always seem to forget the "misses" when it comes to psychic activity.

Considering there are mountains of evidence to support the notion that your mind might be "playing tricks," so to speak, as compared with zero evidence to support psychic activity.

You might contact a research institution which is seeking volunteers for psy research. One is the Rhine Institute which was formerly associated with Duke University.
      http://www.rhine.org/
This would put you in touch with professionals who work in the field and could give you some insight. You don't want to end up with some charlatan with spirits who speak through levitating trumpets.

      My thoughts - respectfully.

I sometimes make the tv channel change just by walking into the room, I have been known to make odd predictions that come true - Oh yes and I was known for 'lucky weather' to the point where people would go on trips if I went to kinda guarantee the weather - and for all that particular period it really worked, including 6 feet of snow ONLY at our resort that dumped the day we arrived in bad snow season, and a storm that circled just out of reach for two days on a diving holiday - that broke over us with inch wide hail just as I finished changing and stepped into the car to drive back.

And I do not believe in any kind of 6th sense, I am just a lucky lucky bastard.

When you meditate, you begin to be more aware of the energies around you. The far away voices could be echoes of a conversation that happened many years ago. The feeling of someone brushing past you could be because where you are sitting used to be somewhere that a person walked often. These are just possibilities, but the concept I am referring to is called an energetic memory.

The colors you are seeing are called auras. An aura is the color of someone's soul. As you continue seeing the auras, you will see that each color represents an emotion to you.

These abilities can be referred to as psychic, but they are also the result of you focusing on your inner energy. Don't freak out. This is most likely a good thing.

donotfearposted 15 years agoin reply to this

My daughter started seeing auras at the age of 12 but I didn't know about it until now. She doesn't see them much anymore...she self medicated herself so much with pot and meth it nearly ruined any ability she had. But she's straight now, or nearly. Maybe her spiritual strengths will resurface.

Judging by what you've said you have no basic understanding of energy. All this psychic nonsense is lobbed into the pseudo-science category for a good reason.

Energetic memory - lol. That people still believe and distribute this psuedo-scientific 'psychic' nonsense around the globe in 2010 is both sad and laughable. There are some very wealthy people out there thanks to the gullible and ignorant.

at point do you start to really think you may have psychic abilities? Is my mind playing tricks on me? Let me know your experiences and maybe i can gain some new insight

the mind is a conduit between body & spirit. The ability of the mind to momentarily collect a full measure of a thought and release it is possible. That 'energy' is amassed from spirit. Some liken it to an overload of 'information', 'a power pop', but in truth it is something outside the mind. The spirit which you are, is constantly in unity with the Creator, who 'sees' past/present/future as the same instance. The ability for us to 'see' any of the three is because of that energy in our spirit projecting into the mind or psyche.

From a quantum angle, the ability to 'jump' or 'transcend' using elemental energy is not far fetched. Misguided, but possible. The mind is limited for a reason, to keep the body from exploding/overloading with too much energy.

My wife is a good example. Her energy can literally interrupt TVs, computers, hair driers, phones at times. Her dreams are always on point. Its amazing. Mine comes different in the form of healing and discernment. To each the Spirit gives different gifts.

actually, my wife has a lot of reflective/electric energy.
she was actually 'banned' from touching computers, other electronics at her job. it was funny. also has a seriously spot on dream thing, which i still don't fully understand -as i do not recall any of my dreams {theta sleeper so i was told}. i would say 90% of the time her perceptions/thoughts/dreams about people in her life, are right on. freaks me out at times. lol.

i will mention the hat thing, she'll get a kick out of it.

        1. profile image55
(Q)posted 15 years agoin reply to this

There's an ointment for that she can apply to her butt cheeks and the "reflective/electric energy" will gas out.

I would speculate that if your perception of your wife is anything like your perception of the rest of the world around you, it's probably all hogwash.

oddly enough, when I was a pre-teen I had a few visions.  one about a story/book which at first I thought it was meant for me to write lol but, it wasn't, and Yes, it has been published and one about events that would happen in my life.  those events came to be at my last job - while I was at that job I had a Lot of deja-vu moments that reminded me of the visions from my childhood

hasn't happened to me since, but I do still get occasional "feelings" about things like: take a different route home - usually I find out afterward there was an accident right about the time I would have been there.

Always trust your gut feelings.  smile

    1. calpol25 profile image60
calpol25posted 15 years agoin reply to this

Its a tricky one this one because well at some point in life we will all have a deja- vu moment that we cant explain where as the rest we can,

It is a known fact that we only use one side of our brain as humans yet we need the other side to make this one work however we dont use that side for any other purpose. I wounder what would happen if we did use it?

Perhaps a sixth, seventh or eighth sense or maybe nothing who knows?

      1. Cagsil profile image70
Cagsilposted 15 years agoin reply to this

On what planet are you talking and what human beings only use one side of their brain?

Really, we don't use the right-side of our brain?

Do you even know what the right-side of the brain does? It's your creativity side. It's where your imagination operates from. It's where every damn thing you've ever seen is stored in images.

When you see a horse...you recognize it because you've learn to interpret a picture or recall seeing it before hand.

It comes from the right-side. The left-side of the brain is for reasoning, rational and sane thoughts, which form logic.

Please before you start talking about the brain, do some homework, would ya? Not meaning to be insulting, but your statement is 7 grade science, and that was when I was in school and I've been out of school for over 20 years.

        Just a thought. hmm

      2. profile image0
Pani Midnyte Odinposted 15 years agoin reply to this

I think you've got your facts mixed up there, calpol25. Actually, human beings use both side of their brains. The left side is the logical side. People who are right-handed normally think prominently with the left side of their brain. The right side of your brain is the creative side. People who are left-handed normally think prominently with the right side of their brain. It is a known fact, however, that the average human being only uses about 10-13% of their brain, which is what I think/hope you meant to say.

        1. Cly Walsh profile image59
Cly Walshposted 15 years agoin reply to this

We absolutely do not use only 10 - 13% of our brain! Where are you reading this nonsense? Self-proclaimed 'psychics' use this so-called 'fact' to back them up when in actual fact they know they're lying through their teeth.

          Humans use their entire brain.

Moreover, If we trust in ourselves to know what to do and when to do it, we will know that what is being revealed to us is to materialize or not. smile

Visual cues (body language), auditory cues (their voice) along with the situation, biochemical expression and your understanding of the other person are responsible for this. Some people are better than others at picking things up from these cues and it's quite a handy trait, not to mention a valuable one for some occupations. Nothing psychic happening though.

With meditation anyone can bring their powers of psychic to surface and will with practise be able to use them.  I had my husband test me with missing people on tv, and I can tell within 95 % whether a missing person is alive or dead.  I can also pick up on the emotions of people near me, like in line at the store.  As a matter of fact I have to be careful that I recognize them as belonging to the other people and not myself, that is how strong I feel them.
Meditation is the best way to sharpen your skills, and don't let those who do not believe in psychic abilities bring you down, or convince you it is not real.  It is easy at first to confuse things with your own thoughts, but after a while you will be able to discern more readily.
As far as the person who said something about not believing until you can guess the lotto numbers, it does not work like that.  These special abilities are not meant for financial gains, and you will not be able to get rich this way.  These abilities are meant only for the spiritual or gaining insights for the good of people, for the enlightenment of ones mind or teaching another the same.
