Let god be true and every man be a liar! Gods word does not return unto him void"
I think you are speaking of the LOGOS, right? Its the LOGOS earnest.
What it essentially pertains to is the power of a declaration. It has come to mean Gd's word in modern Christianity. But it really is nebulous to most of them, and most think its the literal bible passages.
Logos; often translated as "word", it's true meaning is much more multifunctional (a better translation would be "reason"). The Logos is the light that gives Gnosis via communication. It is the Christ (not to be confused with Jesus). First there was a thought, then the word. We pass on knowledge in this world through words. It is something that gives us guidance by "seeing" or a certain amount of comprehension.

In the grand scheme of things this just seems so unimportant. I don't think I will waste my time writing anymore. Whats the point. Debating about who's God is right! There are no Gods!! Why would an Omnipotent being be so cruel?!?! Take away a 34 year old man for what purpose? My friend! MY brother! If there is a GOD than it is a 3 year old burning ants with a magnifying glass!!!!!!! What could possibly be the purpose? Crushing his family who are good people! He had a drug problem! But I knew him! He was good! Dammit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Exactly! Omniscient yet barbaric? Omnipresent but never seen? Omnipotent, but unable to lift a finger to stop his own creation from being insane?
The god of the bible or quoran is an ant sized psychopath in my view, and totally man made to control other men.
Obvious from the outside. Funny I could see nothing when I was a religionist, the book takes over the senses if you ram it down your own throat often enough!
Do keep writing Hokey, even if it is rage that you write. I will read. I lost my father when he was only 40, I was only 10. I asked God to take me instead, when I suddenly realized the end was near. I begged with all of my heart. I told Him how much the family needed my dad more than me. But he chose to answer that prayer with a resounding NO, as I felt from the other room my heart rend in two in my chest. I knew before they called us out to tell us that he was dead. I raged for two years, while the family prayed that we would be comforted I prayed "i hate you I hate you I hate you, I am never talking to you again!" as if my rage could actually hurt some supreme being. It was all I had, and how I came to be a writer, writing my pain.
OK!!! Well here you go!!!!!!!!!
My new hub will start right now!
Love you Hokey! And you Lyrics and Earnestshub. in a fraternal sort of way, not stalking or religious love, Brotherly love....
Geeze faybe! Conditional love then is it?
No, just trying to stay out of trouble. I am sticking my foot in my mouth on a regular and want to at least get some sleep tonight. I can't take another tossing and turning from, should I have said that. I am learning to make myself perfectly clear, so as not to be misinterpreted... As many have been since the word first took form.
Your writing isn't just for us...it's for you as well, even more so! You've been writing all your life...use that now!
I'm sorry Hokey. Everything tends to sound platitudinous when you're hurting, but your friend is at peace. You and others who knew him have to suffer through this loss, but he won't suffer anymore.
Feel free to vent and scream and yell if you like. I'm sure most of us know how you're feeling.
In the words of somebody who's name I can't recall at the moment -Let grief convert to anger, blunt not the heart, enrage it! It helped me.
It sounds dumb I guess, but instead of letting this make you smaller, let it make you bigger.
Oh yeah, it was shakespeare. Smart guy, that shakespeare.
I love you.
Just another reminder that life truly is impermanence.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kind words.
Namaste
Well Faybe, I sleep like a log knowing that many zealots hate my guts!
I guess I would suggest thinking this.
"What others think of me is none of my business"
Sleep like a bug in a rug faybe!
I do, and actually pass it on but sometimes when one makes a stupid mistake as I have, I found a new one: "No one notices until you make a mistake."
well s**t happens, no biggy if you make a mistake.
Yeah, but tonight I have to sleep. I am taking a friend to court in the morning, gotta leave at 5:am. Last time I made the run I didn't sleep and I was ill all day from lack of rest and the trip. All the way, West Palm to Kissimee and no amusement parks, court for him instead.
Hey Jewels, nice to see you enter the fray with some real data.
The bible doesn't need to be defended by anyone. It stands alone as the best seller, most widely distributed and missunderstood by those who DO NOT READ IT. Is it so surprising it gets attacked by the wanting? I don't think so.
