    Hi friends

Islam spread in the world very peacefully due to its marvelous, simple and matter of fact teachings; the same way in United States of America.

    Please see for yourself:

    Islam in the United States

The earliest documented cases of Muslims to come to the United States were two West African slaves: Ayuba Suleiman Diallo, who was brought to America in 1731 and returned to Africa in 1734,[1] and Omar Ibn Said in the mid 19th century. There has been some speculation that a Moor slave Estevanico of Azamor, who had converted to Christianity [2][3][4] 14 years before his arrival in North America in the early 16th century, was at least the first born Muslim to enter the historical record in North America.[5] There is also a tradition of an Egyptian named Norsereddin who settled in the Hudson Valley during colonial times. Once very small, the Muslim population of the US increased greatly in the twentieth century, with much of the growth driven by rising immigration and widespread conversion.[6] In 2005, more people from Islamic countries became legal permanent United States residents — nearly 96,000 — than in any year in the previous two decades.[7][8] The new position has been created under white house executive office as a United States special envoy to the Organization of the Islamic Conference to promote relation between Islamic world and United States government.
Recent immigrant Muslims make up the majority of the total Muslim population. Native-born American Muslims are mainly African Americans who make up a quarter of the total Muslim population. Many of these have converted to Islam during the last seventy years. Conversion to Islam in prison,[9] and in large urban areas[10] has also contributed to its growth over the years. American Muslims come from various backgrounds, and are one of the most racially diverse religious group in the United States according to a 2009 Gallup poll.[11]
A Pew report released in 2009 noted that nearly six-in-ten American adults see Muslims as being subject to discrimination, more than Mormons, Atheists, or Jews.

Islam has forever sint waves of migrsation into a country in preperation for it's Jihad.

They know that when it comes to it and the Islamic armies are here. Muslims are obligated to assist in the conquering of this nation.

That is the M.O. of Islam. Believe me. We see you. We are well aware that ALL the conquests of Islam have been through the sword.

the muslim religion has never spread anywhere peacefully. if you look at denmark, france united states, etc. you will see the damage, rioting and things like honour killings that have occured . these are just small examples of the problems that arise when the muslim religion grows in any country. any religion that either condones the treatment of non believers as being evil or condones the treatment of women as lesser beings is not only un-peaceful but has a negative effect on the way of life of said country. any more questions about the love of islam just look at any country that is prodominatly muslim and see how the people live. that should tell you all that is needed about this religion.

May I make a suggestion to you, dear friend paarsurrey?

Instead of posting post after post after post of every single geographic location where you believe Islam spread peacefully, wouldn't it be more efficient to just make one post (or better yet, one Hub) explaining to readers all the wonderful places that Islam has spread. and explain how it has spread peacefully?

It would be far more helpful to we seekers of knowledge.

He can't make it a hub.  He doesn't think for himself, he just pastes what has already been said elsewhere on the Internet.  Hub's that are just pasted material get deleted.  To make this an actual hub would force him to actually think - not likely he's doing that anytime soon.

      Hi friend luvpassion

There is no Controversy in it; it is a part of history forgotten:

The history of Islam in the United States can be divided into three periods: the colonization period, post World War I period, and the last few decades.[13]

[edit] Muslims in early United States
Estevanico of Azamor may have been the first Muslim to enter the historical record in North America. Estevanico was a Berber originally from North Africa who explored the future states of Arizona and New Mexico for the Spanish Empire. Estevanico came to the Americas as a slave of the 16th-century Spanish explorer Álvar Núñez Cabeza de Vaca. After joining the ill-fated Narváez expedition in 1527, Cabeza de Vaca and Estevanico were captured and enslaved by Indians, escaping to make an arduous journey along the coast of the Gulf of Mexico. In 1539 Estevanico guided the first Spanish explorations of what is now the American Southwest.[14]

      N. Brent Kennedy has speculated that during the period 1567-1587, Moors and Turks were brought to the present-day Carolinas by Sir Francis Drake and/or by Portuguese or Spanish expeditions, and that some of these intermarried with Native Americans, giving rise to the Melungeon communities of Southern Appalachia.[15] Amadou-Mahtar M'Bow, a Senegalese educator and former UNESCO director, has made similar assertions.[16] The claim is not widely accepted.

An early Egyptian immigrant is mentioned in the accounts of the Dutch settlers of the Catskills Mountains and recorded in the 1884 History of Greene County, New York. According to this tradition, an Egyptian named "Norsereddin" settled in the Catskills in the vicinity of the Catskill Mountain House. He befriended the Indian chief, Shandaken, and sought the hand of his daughter Lotowana in marriage. Rejected, he poisoned Lotowana and in consequence was caught and burned alive.[17][18]

In 1790, the South Carolina legislative body granted special legal status to a community of Moroccans, twelve years after the Sultan of Morocco became the first foreign head of state to formally recognize the United States.[19] In 1796, then president John Adams signed a treaty declaring the United States had no "character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquillity, of Mussulmen".[20]

Alexander Russell Webb is considered by historians to be the earliest prominent Anglo-American convert to Islam in 1888. In 1893 he was the only person representing Islam at the first Parliament for the World's Religions.[16]

i think women convert to islam for a number of reasons but mainly because their husbands have so it is normal to do the same. why women or men convert is like asking why women become prostitutes or porn stars or why men join gangs or become soldiers. only the person converting can answer the reason.

    Spreading in America? roll

You have to be kidding. That happens to be a direct lie, supported by nothing but an ego manipulated by religion.

You could not be further from the truth, especially in the U.S., that's for damn sure.

Last checked, over 80% of American were associated with Christianity or one of the sister religions or Mormon.

You would be lucky IF 5% of Americans were of the Muslim faith.

    So, please. roll

There is ONE difference you are failing to point out?

These people may follow bits and pieces of the religion, but like most, the freedom given in America, grants them the ability to toss out what they choose to ignore and there isn't anyone who has the right to tell them otherwise.

Therefore, what you claim as a peaceful religion being spread over the U.S., as what you preach here in the forum?

        Completely different. Guaranteed!

The American freedom offer to those who live here, even invades Religion. So much so, almost every person I have talked with here and offline, has proven to me that every single one of them only take parts of their religion seriously. Things that they do not agree with is tossed out.

I know this, not only with my interaction with others, but it's a simple concept to grasp- freedom of religion?  The first amendment to the U.S. Constitution stipulates that any person can practice ANY religion in ANY manner they so choose.

The only time any State or Federal agency gets involved is when harm to others happen. Spreading of the Muslim religion, sure, but not like you think.

Evidently you don't remember American history.  They decided the Queen wasn't good enough for them hence why we have the USA and Canada, and not just North America.  The Brits were fighting the French, and together they were fighting the natives or f*cking them over as terrible allies, and some of the above just didn't like the Queen.

We don't like to talk to about Alaska.

Back on topic - Islam hasn't spread in America, Muslims have immigrated to America.  There is a huge difference between increase by immigration, and increase by conversion.  The conversion rates are minuscule compared to the immigration rates.  Immigrants are allowed and encouraged to continue practising their faith.  If I immigrated to a Muslim country would I be allowed to continue practising as a Buddhist freely?  Not likely.

Buddhists and Buddhism entered America, negating Buddha believing in the Creator-God Allah YHWH; in the form of Skeptics in doubts the entered in America. It is for this that the Skeptics find it convenient not to criticize them as they do criticize Judaism or Christianity; perhaps it is mutual convenience. I don't think it is sincere on the part of the Skeptics; it might be Taqiyya on the part of the Skeptics and the Buddhists.

Most Muslims, being rational people, brought their faith to America peacefully (would be a little hard to wage a war on conversion based on the population numbers, and as you can believe that you want in the US, there is little reason for them to resort to violence)

Some otter people brought their faith to America via hijacked airplanes

I did some research and I found that the American Religious Identification Survey gave "Irreligion" the largest gain in terms of absolute numbers.
They went from  8.4% of the population to 14.1% of the population between the years of 1990 to 2001.
Irreligion encompasses atheism, deism, non-theism, agnosticism, ignosticism, anti-religion, skepticism, free thought and secular humanism.
Before 1976, Irreligion was simply called "neener-neener".

Of the 15 or so of them sat with me discussing living in the west there was not one that wanted to stay in their own country, they all wanted to grow up enough to leave and live in the west!!!!

In Islamic countries women are treated like livestock. Every time A sailor I know comes back from Afghanistan it's the same story; Women are for making babies and men are for pleasure.

Do this all day?  You can do whatever you would like to do all day.. but not with me.  I am not interested in arguing whose faith in 'better' or less cruel.  We are each entitled to believe, or not believe, any God or Gods we want to.

I am not so blind or foolish to argue that the proponents who supposedly share my faith have not been guilty of great crimes in the name of their religion. My point when responding to all these "peaceful spread of Islam" threads is that it is incredibly laughable that someone can  be so blind and foolish when talking about their faith as to make such ridiculous claims over and over again.

More importantly, such an advertising campaign is a waste of time. As a person who believes in God, it strikes me as being a totally useless endeavor to defend the criminal actions of some who have committed atrocities in the name of a one's religion in order to safeguard the image of one's faith, as my dear friend Paar so often attempts to do.  People commit crimes for a whole bunch of reasons, and just because they are motivated by, or use religion as an excuse, does not condemn the religion itself.  These people are criminal.. not God or his message.

Paar would have more credibility in my eyes if he was to find and condemn all the instances where people have committed crimes and persecuted others in the name of his faith (just like his own sect has been persecuted).  It would be far wiser if he were to dissociate his faith from such examples, then to try and argue that no single follower of his faith has tried to impose his religion through the use of force,.

          Hi friends

I do condemn all the incidents of violence, persecutions and killings done in the name of a religion; and I have always suggested that the solution is in the roots of a religion. If there is no teachings of violence or intention of violence as in case of Quran; then all the incidents of violence done in the name of this religion by the so called its believers should be disassociated from it and the religion itself remains aloof of it and is not responsible for it.

Quran does not allow any persecution, violence or killings to spread Islam and allows free will, equality to everybody and deals with equity.

          Do you agree with me?

          Thanks

O.k. so then why the insistence of arguing that it has spread peacefully through out the world?

You can't have it both ways and claim that Islam is so pure that its followers through out the centuries would never have resorted to violence, and then in the same breath acknowledge that violence did happen, but the religion itself was not responsible.

Wouldn't it be more fair and reasonable to just say that Islam did at times spread violently by those who claimed to be followers of Islam, but that in your interpretation of the faith, their acts are not Islamic, nor were they necessarily for the spread of your religion?

    Hi friends

Christianity spread in America by killing millions of native people; but Islam spread there very peacefully.

Christians killed 100,000,000. natives to spread Christianity in America.

    Did they not?

    Thanks

where did you get the number 100,000,000? if islam would have came to america 300 years ago the process would have been simple. convert or be destroyed.
christianity did cause a lot of pain and suffering and death which is ironic because like many religions in the end it is the will of "god " that is used as a reason.

        Hi friend

Just google and you would get many such sites, one I quote here:

        Spread of Christianity:

1.And where is the document that presents a papal granted moral right for indigenous peoples to own land and be independent sovereign nations? What has the Roman Catholic hierarchy and other Christian Church leaders had to say about the 60,000,000 to 80,000,000 indigenous inhabitants of the Western hemisphere who had perished by the end of the 16th century? And what have they had to say about the probable 100,000,000 native peoples who have been killed in the course of the on-going Christian ‘civilization’ of the Western hemisphere"?

2.The story of the Christian Inquisition against the Hindus in Goa is also a dismal record of Christian barbarism and cruelty; tyranny and injustice; avarice and corruption, repression of Hindu thought and culture, and promotion of obscurantism. The conversion of Hindus of Goa to Christianity was one of the main activities of the Portuguese Rulers in close association with the Missionaries — Society of Jesus, Franciscans and others. Fraud, force and favoritism were the standard methods of ’saving souls’ or ‘conversion’ employed by the Christian missionaries in Goa. From available data we can see that more than 200,000 Hindus were tortured and killed and more than 500,000 Hindus were forcibly converted to Christianity from 1560 to 1812.

        http://originalblessing.ning.com/profil … -committed

There is lot more to the credit of Christianity.

from your own guidelines ; the same can be said for Islam.

Mankind acting as self appointed ambassadors of God , looking out for their own glory.
Corruption creeps into every man made organization.

            This is not Gods fault.
An if it were it would be his way of weeding out the weak.

            Just another thought.
What if these millions of millions of people had not died an unnatural death, and had four children each ???? And if they had four children etc.  What would the population of the earth be today?

Until the middle of the mid 20th century  the earths population maintained a constant population growth regardless of every fact whether drought, war, or pestilence.

Had war not have thinned out the population, pestilence or starvation would have kept a steady growth rate.
             Natures balance.

The difference is that those acts were done contrary to the teachings of Christ, where violence continues to be the driving force behind the teachings of Mohammed. After all; "Jihad is a religious duty of Muslims." wink

Muhammad was someone who understood the oneness of god and his prophets and acknowledged Jesus as a Great prophet before him.
the philosophy of Jihad is an internal battle, things have gone wrong in  Islam like Christianity where many don't understand Jesus message.

It is a great thing that Quran/Islam/Muhammad acknowledge truthfullness of all the Messengrs Prophets of all the religions and the truthfulness of all the Revealed Scriptures in the origin. Quran encompassess all the truthful teachings of all the religions and this way secures them in its fold.Quran respects all the human beings.

I'm not so sure that there is a religion that spreads peacefully. Everyone needs converts to keep the coffers full, and so preaching and accosting people with their beliefs and the threat that they need "salvation" or burn in hell is a thriving business going on now for perhaps eons.

I don't think you can extricate religion from business. And business, these days is pretty greedy, as were any past crusades from any religion.

Islam spread in the world very peacefully due to its marvelous, simple and matter of fact teachings; the same way it spread in United States of America. Those who resorted to violence they actually hindered it growth and spread; if they had not done so, it would have spread with more speed.

    Thanks

      Hey Paar, get something straight.

Islam is not spreading within the borders of the United States of America. The people who have followed the religion you claim have come to America.

That does not mean it is spreading. It does mean that people are choosing to come to America, where they are not demanded to listen to those who are religious elite and enforce it's word.

In America, Freedom of Religion is all about believing what you want to believe, as far as religion is concerned. There are not more people becoming part of that religion, which would insinuate spreading, as you claim.

Less and less people are practicing any sort of religion, but still remain to have a belief in some sort of god.

Your entire thread is misleading, if not an out-right lie.
