Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

A fool is a person that trust in them-self. All of these young people fear, because they are lost in

a would of openness. The OLD people are saying the LAW is done away with an the young people

do not know what to believe.

I will never loose my audience, why, because there will always be sinners. Just because you done like what I write, there are 100 more people that do. Why be negative all the time try positiveness, some times.

It could disapear and that would be of tremendous help to the world and the millions of religiously persecuted people in it.

I don't see how your message here supports change.  Are you quoting typical King James scripture here?  Who says thine?

You do realize that there is no Aramaic word for thine?hmm

Unfortunately I think this could have been a good topic for conversation, however, it might have been started off on the wrong foot.roll

      Simply put:

      How can religion change anything?

Well in some societies, when religion was introduced into their worldly dynamics, terrible things started to occur.  That is one way religion can change something.  For example, in North America, natives were made to change their real names (Red Fox, Blue Sky) to "Christian" names (Mary, John, Peter).  Around 200 ad, certain religious people were hunted down by Pagan worshipers, and killed by wild animals for sport in the Gladiatorial games in Rome.  In Ireland and Great Britain, there is new findings that the ancient Celts traveled long distances in order to worship in a celebratory, ceremonial style rituals during the winter and summer Solstice. Changing the way we now think of them.  Because of their "religious" artifacts, we now know that the ancient Celts were a highly sophisticated society, and not just a bunch of meat eating "caveman".  They equal if not lead the Mayans in their knowledge of Physics and Astronomy.

If it wasn't for religion, the world as it is today, would not exist. I think that changes everything, and the way we should be looking at change.  Whether it is warranted or not, religion has had an insurmountable impact on everything and anything.

Medical marijuana has more benefits than any religion. Religion offers another fear factor - if you misbehave, you'll go to hell. Religion was invented to try to answer the question what happens when we die. The answer is no one knows or will ever know. Offering false hope and following strict man made rules called sin, does nothing but interfer with common sense.

      Hello Paul Wingert

Religion do not teach, if you sin you go to hell, Men teaches that.
      Matthew 18:11
For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost. Religion want all man to be save, you have believed a lie. Hell is the Grave, not a place of burning.
      Acts 2:31
He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left IN HELL, neither his flesh did see corruption.

Religions its self and concept of hell are a contradiction to my spiritual ideas of ethics. The Monotheists: Jews, Christians, and Muslims in Conflict and Competition. There is no agreed-upon process for dealing with neither ethical breaches, nor an entity to report those ethical breaches.

The Peoples of God Is The USA First Amendment for Monotheists Only. In many Muslim countries the word God is full constitution. Monotheist is an Oxymoron, seemingly self-contradictory effect, as in “cruel kindness, The concept of only one God conflict with my concept of every one is God and flows of ethics into unity. Atheists and monotheist can fight until the end of time, War what is it good for….? I choose middle grounds.

According to the word in the Bible of 144,000 sealed to go to heaven. Based on lottery ticket odds chances to enable us, to get to heaven. It’s most likely my entire family, friends and loving circle will be sending eternity being torture in HELL together like a family reunion we never had on earth.

Bible doesn't say only 144000 go to heaven.

Numbers that can not be counted are going to heaven according to scripture.

It is only 144,000 that are redeemed from the living.
          Big difference.

There is no where in the Bible that explain how many get to go to heaven, other than 144,000 sealed. I've have been to a few Christian websites the only other answer is salvation, What...? Salvation of the 144,000.

Rev. 7:9   And after this I beheld, and lo, a great multitude,
which no man can number, of all nations, and kindreds, and peoples, and tongues, stood before the throne

7:13    an elder asked John< Who are these?  And John replied,  You know who they are!  Ant then the elder said;  "these are they which came out of the great tribulation, and have washed their robes ......."

And them much later in OUR time frame

Rev 20. Another group are seen which had been killed for their testamony.

The 144,000 were redeamed from the living.  All of these others were not.

                I hope this helps.

No, maybe because the bible has no other explanation.

Only my rode can be clean, by Jesus salvation, or I would go to hell with the vast majority

sorry about the wait.  a friend came over.

I don't know about this last statement..

To answer why not gets a little complicated.
You might read one of my hubs on this.
                     I'd suggest " a day = a year  NOT"
The explanations and math gets a bit boring, skip that part if you get boo red,  the summation will letcha know how I feel about this.
For the short answer;  If this concept of time comparison between prophetic time and real tine is correct,  after a lot of analytical deduction, many many answers are brought out into the light.
One of which is that the Catholic Church played around with interpretations and translation while they were choosing which books they needed to included in the bible.

Going to hell is the result of wrong choices. Adam and Eve took the wrong wide road to destruction for us. This is the hard way. So God sent Jesus Christ Genesis 3:15 to put us on the right road again. Not that God didn't offer his way to humans before the flood because he did but only Noah and his family seem to have sense enough to know where life comes from. It took over 4,000 years to the time when Christ came to redeem humans from sin. Very few listened up into our time and those that did listen mostly got martyred because they got it right. But don't worry Christ will return shortly to set up God's Kingdom forever and every one can make the right choice if they chose to do so. If not they will end up in the grave were they can't ever bother anyone else with heir sinister ways, Revelation 20:11-15.

Religion changes mainly the hearts of men, how they think or how they opperate. It (in Christian cases anyways) It's purpose is to make men more humble, more honest, more caring, more loving, more kind to thier neighbor while soothing and bringing peace to thier heart. It also can change countries, and bring peace, by fostering the ideal of living a life of love.

Therefore: religion can bring peace, make people happy, and help in general.

The downsides to religion, like anything else, like ON or OFF, is that some will use it to pretend they are good or look good, and some will abuse it and cause confusion or make the religion look bad by doing evil.

    Good and evil ....

Yes, like Communism, it all looks good on paper, but by putting it into practice you get something completely different that doesn't work at all and in most cases exhibits the very opposite behavior. smile

Yes, there is a Hell but it was not created for mankind.  It was created for the Devil and his angels.  In the parable of the Sheep and the Goats the Goats who represent the wicked are told " Depart from me into the Lake of Fire (Hell) prepared for the Devil and his angels for I was hungry and you fed me not,....)  It is eternal punishment, separation from God and His forgiveness.   And there is no fellowship.   A few years ago I read a book about a man who God showed him a vision of Hell.   Sorry, I don't remember the name of the book or the author it was quite a few years  ago.  Anyway in this book the author said that he was in Hell and he was in this very dark place all alone except there was a demon mocking him, then the Holy Spirit talked to him and said, "You know how some people say when they get to Hell they are going to roast marshmellows and drink beer with their friends by the fire?  Well in Hell there is no fellowship!  You are all alone in complete darkness, forever!"

No, God does not send people to Hell. They send themselves when they say No to Him.  Jesus said, "It is not the Will of the Father which is in Heaven for anyone to Perish but that all should come to repentence."

If God hates people He would not have sent His Son to take our punishment.  Christ took our punishment on the cross.  He experience Hell so that no one else has to.  The Apostle Paul wrote, "While we were yet sinners Christ died for us.".   The Gospel can be summed up in two verses, "For God so loved the World that He gave his only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.  For God sent not His Son into the World to condemn the World but that the World through Him might be saved." John 3: 16, 17

I don't think the translation of scripture has anything to do with your alls dispute over semantics here.  The dispute is nothing more than a difference in theology.  One of you has views that sync with the Jehovah Witnesses way of thinking, and the other of you views salvation from the 15th century Anglican Church way.

Its not a Canonical way of thinking, that's forsure.  So it has nothing to do with the Catholic church mistranslating scripture.  This I know for sure.  The two of you are debating simple theological semantics.  The Canonical way of thinking is much different than the Jehovah Witnesses way, and the typical Protestant teachings.  First of all, we have purgatory.
