If you believe in God and that he is the creator then he alone is responsible for the millions of babies that have died before, during and shortly after birth. Also those babies that are born with defects and they are forced to live whatever life that they have with big problems. A problem that they were not responsible for, and couldn't have done anything to deserve those handicaps, or death.
If you believe that a God, I presume the biblical God created us, then his quality control department needs shaking up.
This is not the same thing as investing all your money in Enron, or with Madoff and losing it all. These are a few of the things that are not within your control.
If you can get past these questions, then I have many more.
Any man who believes in it and has within him a decent, throbbing heart, will surely go insane. -Robert Ingersoll.
It is a marvelous thing to watch those born with defects rise above there condition and still live a quality of life within their physical limitations.
Like seeds that fall from a tree, not every seed takes root in the ground.
If the biblical God has the power to create and destroy perhaps God decided to uncreate. Perhaps there is more to the action that cannot be understood by our finite minds and therefore making it good or bad would be pointless as we don't always see the bigger picture.
Would you want to trade places with one of these babies?
The thing is that they didn't ask to be born with a major defect, and they did nothing to deserve it.
Hey Duck,
You would be correct that the babies did nothing to deserve it. However, it would be nice if the two people who created the baby(not a god, but two humans) were responsible enough and honest with themselves to begin with.
Birth defects come from irresponsible humans. Not a god.
I disagree if you believe that God is the creator, then God came up with a bad genetic system.
Also defects skip generations, and it wouldn't be known to the potential parents would the result of them having a baby would produce.
Sure there are cases where the parents did drugs, or something else to produce a baby with defects, but that is not the fault of the baby.
Parents can have several children and maybe only one of them would have any defects, so we can't blame the parents.
Sometimes it is the hospitals, doctors, nurses or someone else that causes a problem for the baby.
My point is that a creator has the responsibility of creating things that are flawed, whether at birth, or throughout their existence.
that's incorrect. Parents don't have to be drug addicts to produce a baby with no brain etc. How would you like to be judged like that if you were a responsible person that had a child with a severe birth defect?
How do you know that? Do you see the bigger picture? The variables that make one come into existence?
If that is how I was born and was raised by my mum the way she has raised me, I would be counting my blessings just as I do now except I would be limited in what I can physically do. The mind is a very powerful thing. We can accept its power and use it for good no matter where we are at.
That is true, but what about those babies that died still born, or shortly after their birth, or within a few years of their birth.
The creator did a better job with insects.
Depends on the variables.
An insect will not live if the environment does not nurture its growth. A seedling will not take root either if the environment does not nurture growth.
Nature is governed by laws we are still discovering. Changing those laws (if we could) might mean life as we know it cannot be supported.
In your opinion should natures laws be changed when a baby is in the womb of her/his mum or when it is born? Or should the womb that carries the baby be prepared the best way it can to nurture growth?
If the variables which are for the most part largely unknown do not support the growth of a child then the laws that exist do what it does indiscriminately. No amount of preparation will prepare anyone for the loss because there is little we understand about the process.
It is an extremely sad event when death of an unborn child or young child occurs and what is even sadder is not many of us know how to prevent these events from happening.
We are talking about God as the creator, and not the unknown laws of nature.
If we were created by a God, in fact the biblical God then he did a poor job in our creation.
If it wasn't God the creator, but just evolution or nature than we are what we are and wishing won't change it.
Thanks
So you don't think God created the process of evolution and nature...Or should I say is in and of these processes?
It is said the biblical God created "all things" would that not include evolution or nature? Or does it include only those things that are known to man?
If evolution and nature therefore are separate to God in your opinion, what did God create in its creation? Are we (Humans and Animals) the limit of Gods creation?
You don't know that
what if we're infinite beings and some just want to experience the extreme exact opposite of who we are with limitations and restrictions. We're born we live we die what a ride.
If you mean Jesus by the term Biblical God; then sorry Jesus did not create anything. Jesus was neither god nor son of god; these creeds were invented by Paul and Church followed it.
If you mean God- the one Jesus used to term God-the-Father; not mixing anything from the Trinity; then please tell me for the answer of your question.
What other solution of the problem you think? Do you mean that everybody should be genius like Einstein? Please

There is a generally consensus that religious works hand and hand with world politics and tooled by militarily complexities. Is it a central belief amongst the main religions that nature was created by God.
I would think that everyone that does not rebel openly against something ... are working hand in hand with it.
Religion may be guilty of many things, but we can't blame everything on it.
What I find absolutely astonishingly mind-boggling is the fact that the things religions are guilty of is irrelevant as billions line up to defend them with their lives.
"What? You say that Christianity was responsible for the annihilation of several native cultures around the world? Awesome! Where do I sign up?"

No matter what way you look at it.If God created life, then Satan the devil was born through God's creation, this makes GOD responsible for Satan's existence. So blame GOD for all things bad, instead of just shouting hallelujah and praising him or her for typical life results. If God did create...

Believers, how do you KNOW there is life after death?I am always interested, and quite envious, about people who are completely convinced of an afterlife. People who believe in the afterlife, do you feel that you KNOW there is life after death and if so how can you be so sure?
