What do you think is the reason we are on this planet

Do you ever sit and wonder why we are here. Plus do you wonder what is it we are suppose to do on this planet. Because if you think about we are only down here for a very short time. So what is it all about and what do you think it is all about.

We were created to worship God, who created us.  We are to glorify Him and love Him and love others as ourself.  This life is just a "test" for the next life, which is eternity in either Heaven or Hell.  But Jesus Christ died and rose again for our sins, so we can have eternal life.  This short life is just a test, that's all.

A test, yes, and the exam is answered by our decision. God does not put us in hell or heaven; we put ourselves there by our decision.

First of all, let me say that I am a believer in the most high God and Creator of all of the Universe, and all that is in it. Next, I believe that we were brought here by what we call angels of our God, and rightfully, so called, and that this place we call earth, is as a sanctuary or safe place for us, as His creation. I believe that we may well have been genetically engineered(created) by others working under the supervision of our main creator and that the species here on this planet were utilized to help produce our kind over a period of time. I also believe that all living creatures in this whole universe were of basically the same carbon and life producing organisms, and that there are indeed millions of other species on other worlds and similar to our own. There have been accounts of wars fought among the stars between hostile forces and what we call, the good. There have been such witnessed events on this planet and so recorded by people of India, China, Europe and Native Americans in North America.  I also believe that when our time is up and we have reached the evolution point so desired by the Creator of All, we will be summarily escorted off this planet to be taken to other places in order to exist.. I also believe that the time may well be soon for this to take place, though we may never be truly prepared and know when it will be. This is all in compliance with many scriptural accounts from the Bible and other sources on paper and the walls of caves and buildings around the world. What we may perceive as in humanistic terms may have an altogether different meaning in reality, yet it was so placed there for us to try and understand the reasoning behind many events and what is to come. I do believe in God and that we were meant to live free of sin by Him sending His Son, Jesus, to show us the way. Now, Have I answered your question from my perspective and does it give you any food for thought?I hope so.

Outstanding! There are many mysteries that science cannot touch simply because science deals only with the realm of continuity. Interesting about God "creating" Homo sapiens through genetic engineering. I've suspected this, too since Adam was 10.5Mya

We are created to learn the way of enlightenment in life before we are welcomed back into the spiritual world.

As long as we don't learn about the true meaning of enlightenment, we will be reborn again and again until the day of realization.

Beautiful, @edhan. I have remembered so many lives, like shadows in the wind. One of the most vivid events in my memory was 11,631 years ago. When I remembered it, I wept far more tears than I had ever thought possible -- a river of joy!

Because this planet happened to have the right conditions for life to evolve.  I'd say our main task is just to survive (as a species).

But we are so much more than Homo sapiens. These bodies are only a tool to help us have physical consciousness so that we may reawaken the spiritual consciousness we had in the Garden

  6. lone77star profile image73
    lone77starposted 12 years ago

Genesis 1:26 tells us that we were created in the image and likeness of God. Understand that God is not Homo sapiens. What does that mean about us?

Genesis 2:7 says that God created man, again! This time from the dust of the ground. What is this dust? Certainly it is not the image and likeness of God. Dust is physical; God is non-physical. Dust is chemical. Could this refer to Homo sapiens?

Genesis 6:3 tells us that God will not always stay with man, because he "also" is flesh. Thus, we can surmise that man is immortal spirit wrapped in Homo sapiens flesh. We can also surmise that God will leave man at some time in the future. But will He leave only the Homo sapiens bodies behind, and take His children with Him?

The Garden was not a physical place. Adam and Eve spiritually died when they took on the product of the matrix of good-evil (the "fruit" of that conceptual tree).

Our mission on this planet is to awaken the sleeping child of God within.

Why sleeping? Because each one of us, so long ago, partook of the forbidden fruit -- ego -- the physical matrix of dichotomies.

Christ talked of this mission when he said that those who try to save themselves will surely die. Trying to save your ego will trap you in the physical realm. The ego is too fat to fit through the gate to the non-physical realm.

Science deals with physical continuity -- the product of creation. Religion and spirituality deal with the discontinuity of creation itself -- things like inspiration, miracles and forgiveness.

I've been outside of my physical body. I've performed miracles to the glory of the Heavenly Father, even one comparable to Moses parting the sea. I know that I am a spiritual being attached to this Homo sapiens vessel. Soon, I hope to be unattached. That won't necessarily mean death, but it will mean everlasting life as spiritual consciousness takes over for physical consciousness.

We are here to experience life. We are here to live as blessed by HIM and through us he experiences life on earth.
    Nice question
    Thank you.

I won't go into the scientific and religiousness aspect of it all. I guess (and this is mine) that for whatever purpose we are placed on the planet, it won't be much time before we are wiped off- just like the dinosaurs, and (supposedly) the race of super-humans that came before us.

To destroy it. Why else would those pulling the strings be coercing everyone else to work for nothing, live in poverty and turn to some sort of addiction? Man is the greatest plight ever.....even the dinosaurs served a positive purpose.

Perhaps we were meant for something better....such a complicated brain that can conjure up so many brilliant inventions.....all..in the name of progress...leading to
annihilation of everything on this planet....

As you can tell, I am very bitter by everything that is going on in all corners of the globe and the control being exerted on human beings.....too many wrongs, too few rights....somebody please reply and prove me wrong.

Some people try and still trying to destroy it but many are also trying to restore it. What's happening on our planet are results of  nature's randomness and man's intelligence along with his stupidity.

How true! Perhaps when people start to see that their temporary stay may eradicate their children's existence, they will change. We have much to learn from the natives of the Americas.

We must be on this planet for multiple reasons, the first reason I believe we are here is to co-exist with the likes of other species.

The second reason deals with maintaining the balance and equilibrium of the food chain, humans fit into the part where the food chain got broken, and so we are here to screw up the life cycle of other species by being to greedy.

Ummm and the third reason why we are here is for over populating the earth, obviously through our insatiable greed to desire more, and more we seem to also want to over populate this place. I truly believe that all these, are the true reasons for being here & they have all been satisfied unconditionally, and for that we have fulfilled our true purpose on this planet thus far. Haha! smile

  11. Astralrose profile image89
    Astralroseposted 12 years ago

To co-exist with nature because we are part of nature...we are nature itself!

And I guess what I am trying to say is, we are on this planet to prove god/s' powerlessness and inefficiencies!

I, like some others here, am a believer in God. I believe God created man to have fellowship with Him. We were separated from Him by sin in the Garden of Eden. We were reconciled to Him through the blood sacrifice of Christ on the Cross and the Bible says the vail of the temple, (where God resides figuratively), was rent (torn) from top to bottom when Jesus was crucified. At that point, all who believe in Jesus are free once again to have fellowship with God. Why are we here? To help others find their relationship to God as well.

I believe that we are all spiritual beings and our spirits have existed from time's "beginning". I think that we have to find out who we really are as spiritual beings and lead our lives accordingly.  The reason we are here is from our previous lives, this is our karma until we break the cycle of repeated birth ad death and go back home to the spiritual world.

I hate to be the one to say this but it is recorded that some us us chose to be here to help others.  Out of mercy and compassion some of us will even stay back intentionally just to help others go back home to the spirit world or at least to higher planetary systems.

I hope this meets you in good health.
