i wanna know the way the Ten Commandment play its role in your life ,are you afraid of keeping some,or are they too much for your ,or it too small you wished it should have been more?
I think that they are just fine the way they are
Cause as simpls as they are written,
When we keep them simple,
and simply keep them .....
we wouldn't be seeing how far they will streeeeeth.
Cause , the more we streetch them , loop holes begin popping up everywhere.
LOL
Welcome to HP
In answer to your question the ten commandments dont affect me because I dont read religious fiction or fairytales
So, are you questioning the wisdom of your god? It will be interesting how this is received. Most Christians here appear to get upset when the rest of us do that.
I didn't see his question that way ???
But ?? actually; now that you mention it! Maybe ? It was kinda like asking other people if they did?
Still thinking about This?
I think the ten stone age commands can be boiled down to two
1. Be honest
2. Do not harm
Well ; Just returned from a suprise nap,
I do that a lot. HA
Ya might be right? except ... we are doing someone else harm when we get the job that they needed.
It is kinda hard to know exactly where doing someone harm begins and self survival ends.
I've gotten use to thriving most of the time, if med evil doers prefer the survival of the feistiest , ...
So live and let live, for the one's who can survive
Hey jerami.
The primary reason I said that was his last question. The history of the Jewish faith had shown what happens when you have too many laws to guide you. You lose focus on why the laws exist. That's the whole point of saying all the laws boil down to two. It's a simple question of thinking of others first.
So, his question basically negates the values of the teachings in the gospels.
I see; Jesus even ask the Pharasees " Why are you making up all them rules" "You don't even keep them.
SOooo I guess I agree with you as I most often do.
Highest per ca-pita group in US jails are Christians, that's where they become born again. The highest per ca-pita of both bars and churches in the USA is Sheboygan wi, they go to the bars to wash their sins, is my best guess.
USA 4% holds 26% of the world's prisons and half of the world's war budget. You break the rules , USA lets you have it, bang bang bang!!!!
That brings so many things to mind that I can't decide what to say.
Professing oneself to be something when We can not agree as to what that something is causes me to be slow in answering as to whether or NOT I ATR ONE ???
My Ideologies may have been influenced by those of others but they have become my own individual beliefs.
I wish everyone would just agree with me and the world would be a better place. Just kidding. Kinda HA
i dont know how you see this question and how you understand your own christanity gospel, pls dont be judgemental here, cos you r already pissing me off .pls, why would you have to say my question is negative.if you cant comprehend it please stay of the question.
That was really cute. Pissing you off? Are you serious? Did you Christians bother to read the gospels, or just bypass that entirely and set yourself up in your minds as the voice of your god here on earth.
I can't really apologize for expressing an opinion. You did post the question on a public forum. If you have a problem, you might figure it out because it is really just your problem. Not mine.
Be careful there Castle. You might p*ss him off.
It's not for me to judge God, if he needs an angry management class.
castle am not an angry person ,watch the trend for your self you would see emile R trying to mock me when she says "Be careful there Castle. You might p*ss him off.".well it okay by me.so as not to deviate from what is being discussed here.
@ emile R. for there to be peace i am sorry if i have offended you .pls try not to take things too personal.
I have to ask you again. Are you serious? You were the one who posted in a manner that appeared to be bent out of shape. Trust me. I haven't taken anything you have said personally. I was laughing when I responded to your initial post claiming that I had p*ssed you off and I was kidding with Castle when I posted to him.
Christianity is not only about Christians- as it happened to be the religion of the people who ventured to different parts of the world, taking arms and religion, trying to make commercial inroad into foreign markets. So somehow or other it left an imprint on people who may not be Christians. As I was educated in a missionary school, the ten commandments were also part of our life and referred to as a kind of ethical talisman. Yes, but the closer you look the more difficult it becomes to say, I am abiding by the commandments. It is better to get at the metaphorical sense of it and try to be as true as possible.
Too often the punishments are worst than the crime. When too many rule cause double morals, then human ethics become lost and an increase economic enslaved and some times slaves are held by gun point. There are more people turned into slave in the World than in any other time in History
That’s so old fashion
They call them corporate liars today, I mean lawyers, today
The reason this question was asked was because, from my own view i see the lord GOD exhibiting his infinite wisdom and supremacy over man, owing to the fact that he owns the world, looking into the world and seeing what it would become if this rules are not laid down. that is why i only asked to air you view so as for us here round the world to know how we see the ten commandment guides us on our day to day activities, towards making heaven.
I think of you follow them, you stay out of trouble and probably out of prison as well.
Reading the picture, Those aren't the ten commandmants according to what the bible says the ten commandmants are. I would recommend reading Exodus Chapter 34, and pay close attention to verses 4-28
The ten are fine. The reason why there were ten original commandments was because some people need specifics, in truth, there is only one commandment...love everyone as you love yourself. I didn't say that...Jesus did. Stone age commandments? Not really. The commandments that were spoken of to the Pharisees were all the ones added later. Get circumcised, don't eat pork. Anyone who can't do a simple thing like what is asked in the ten commandments...needs a messiah.

Here are the comparisons between the 10 Commandments and he Book of the Dead:Book of the Dead: "I have done away sin for thee and not acted fraudulently or deceitfully. I have not belittled God. I have not inflicted pain or caused another to weep. I have not murdered or given such an order. I...

This list has been suggested as an updated version of the Ten Commandments, suitable as a template for use by all, regardless of religion or faith. 1. Do not do to others what you would not want them to do to you.2. In all things strive to cause no harm.3. Treat your fellow...

One thing I have always wondered is to what extent people think the 10 Commandments are meant to be absolutely context free, and to what extend they were meant for the People immediately after Exodus and somewhat specific to their needs. I mean, the bit about making idols was important for unity...

Are the 10 commandment applicable today? Are they applicable to non-Jews? Are they applicable to women? I ask because the bible says Jesus said one needs to follow them to get into heaven, but when I read them a few things stand out that makes me think they are not applicable to non-Jews or...
