Do you have days where you run better or worse than others? Why do you think this happens?

Absolutely.  No one can have a great run every time out.  Why does this happen?  Most likely a combination of things including recovery time from your last run, amount of sleep your getting, diet, time of day you go for your run, etc.

I totally agree with bdegiulio.  Not only can the amount of running you are doing affect each run, but also any other physically activity.  If you have tired legs, back, or core, your running can also be affected negatively.  Plenty of rest, stretching, and refueling your body!
