The L A Lakers do not seem to be meshing, will they even make the playoffs??
It depends on whether or not they can get healthy. If Nash and Gasol can come back and even be 80% of the players that they have been in the past, then they will get a lot better. But right now, they are getting nothing from the point guard position. And in the Mike D'antoni offense, you are in trouble if you don't have good point guards.
The big problem, however, is that their defense basically stinks. And Gasol and Nash won't make that much better. So their only hope is to outscore people. And if they turn the ball over less and score more, then they might also give up less fast break points.
The team that they have right now won't make the playoffs. The only question right now is how many shots a night Kobe will take and how many free throws Howard will miss.
I think they will still make the playoffs. They have Pau Gasol and Steve Nash both coming back at the end of this month.
I believe they have enough talent to get in as a 7 or 8 seed in the West but won't get past the firsrt round without drastic changes!!
