What country will take home gold in mens hockey at the Vancouver Games?
Canada is home. What can I say. I didn't like who they chose for some of the positions. Being a Habs fan I would have liked to see Cammaleri with the Maple Leaf on his chest. And Gionta... and surprisingly Price.
Price, I know hasn't had a stellar year, but he's a better tender than Fleury (I watched him in Halifax before he made the jump to NHL... and he didn't impress me).
But, all that aside, I see the Canadians facing off against Russia in the final... no disrepect to USA or Sweden.
But, surprise of the Olympics will be Chechs and Slovaks. Major players to be upset - Fins, Swedes and USA.
But its the Olympics... Miracles even happen on ice.... lets hope not in Vancouver!
Let's go Canada... Let's GO.
I agree with uninvited writer. Canada will sweep hockey. Both the mens and womens teams are the strongest in the tournament.
It will be an absolute upset if the Canadian women don't win gold. However, the men will have more of a struggle. The men had a poor showing in Turin and it only takes one off game to lose the plot.
I would have picked USA until I saw the rosters for Canada and Russia
