In my quest to learn about current fashions and trends, the more I learn, the less I understand.

Very confused.  So I am hubbing my findings  big_smile

And can't stop laughing, if this is our representation of beauty I truly am scared.

Being a blue jean and white T-shirt gal most of my life I am struggling with change but have committed to trying.  yikes

I am asking you for just opinion, recommendations, advise, knowledge, suggestions, experience and views even on one piece of apparel or accessory.

Simplifying what works for you?  Examples (pick one if it helps)
Do you find yourself to be up to date or are you Fashion challenged?
Do you have one thing you always wear ie; scarves that define you?
Do you have an opinion about what Fashion is and how important is it do you think it is in society?
Do our Fashions posted everywhere represent a true reflection of what we see in the public?
Do you have a favorite Fashion Designer?
Do you accessorize and to what degree?
Do you enjoy keeping up to date with Fashion and how do you? Examples-  Magazines? TV? Fashion Shows? Friends direction?  In Store Observations?

Do you find the newest Fads Hysterical?  When is there an example.

I appreciate any input regarding this, men and women, it could help me a great deal with my fashion Hubs but of course if I were to se anything posted here I would include your name, thankful for the help

    Thanks bunches smile

I am fashion challenged and proud of it.
There are far too many other more important things in life to worry about than whether or not I'm wearing the 'right' designer clothes.  Or if I have the 'right' color for spring.  I mean, seriously,  Who Cares???

I am not fashion challenged, I wear what I like.

I do not have one favorite piece of clothing.

I do think fashion does define some people in their minds, but I personally think it is crazy.

I enjoy reading fashion mags and looking at all the weirdness - but that is what it is - sort of like watching wildlife!  Those shoes!  I recently discovered Louboutin- thro an article in Vanity Fair - what a case!  look at his website for his shoes! he has such a great irreverant time in the fashion world with all those glitzy people.  man.  but those shoes are like torture - like weapons - you could kill with those heels - literally!  Isn't it fun?

but me?  I'm ugly and fat and wear god awful stuff - drives my daughter and friends nuts!  they want to make me over!  hee hee what a trip! I remember alot of fashion firsts that warped me and made me fashion-resistant.  life is strange.

but if you're trying to climb out of your mold - start small- upgrade to a white dress shirt with your jeans - classy.  Add some fancy shmancy shoes - I love that look - when and if I ever lose enough weight, thats how I'ma gonna dress!

the whole fashion statement here is simple - like, "I'm so beautiful I don't need to distract you from that" - except "oh well, go ahead and look at my feet!"

There's one exception: leggings.  I wore them in the Eighties but they're so brilliant that I am happily wearing them again (or I will do when it warms up a bit).

        OMG here too

my sister miss chic goes insane she's always telling me I'm stuck in the 80's but I know I'm not - I don't have big hair or sharp large shoulder pads, the rest is shady.

        Don't care

I don't know fashion for me as I hinted is just comport, yep love my white dress shirts and jeans but i find i add "fashion" with the belt or/and buckle

However now I am so getting those shoes, brilliant I say, self defense with sex appeal

Just finishing hub on hats but next one is shoes and I think mega 's shoes has to be a caption-you would understand if you saw them-like the ones in my first and only hub right now lol

      thanks

Well, I have an interest in fashion. My wardrobe consists of a few basic, clasic colours, cuts and styles that I know suit me and then I just invest in a few seasonal pieces to update my look. But in the grand scheme of things, I think fashion is not that important. smile

I love fashion but these days - due to age and income (or lack thereof) - I mainly enjoy it as a spectator.  Plus a lot of the stuff that's in fashion now (e.g. harem pants and humungous platform sandals) would either look hideous on me or just doesn't fit into my lifestyle.

Thanks and I cannot believe the price of clothing now, unbelievable, guess it'll keep us just being us, which is the real fashion I think

My clothes are totally nondescript but I remember a few times when I wore such bizarre clothes I could have been on one of those runways! Sometimes I have strange moods, buy something ridiculous and wear it; I can't stop smiling when I'm out like that because I know people are looking and going, "What the...??? Did you see that? What was she THINKING?!" Messing with people's heads can be fun.

For the most part though, I have no clue what the current fashion even is.

I wish I had your guts, how fun just for people to say like you said but in addition for sure are privately doubting themselves that while they judged are now considering maybe they should follow

kim - I want you to read my friend NamVetRich's first hub on his vietnam experiences - and look at the pic - he was such a qt - still is!  I think you will like it.

also - I am trying to be all righteous about the danger of shoes, but I actually could have a minor shoe fetish going right now.  did you look at Louboutin's website?
    http://www.christianlouboutin.com/  you would love it!

You are too funny Kimberly, but I still love ya. xx
Fashion wise, I have gotten better over the years, and when I dont have a clue as to what is cool or what to do, I make something and go with it-like it was intended to be a little off.  smile
What I do know is- If you are working with Patterns-dont become the pattern. Zebra print dress should not be paired with Zebra Print shoes and handbag- go with solid colors for your accessories so you dont look like a tacky pattern, from head to toe.

If you have time, I have actually written a few hubs covering fashion- Not the Bra or the Woman's Panties Hubs but the other ones-and would love to know what you think or if any of my tips provided any help on your conquest  smile

I care about fashion, not obsessively so, but enough to want to look elegant and yet slightly edgy, if u know what I mean. Living in paris for 5 years, I learnt one thing from french women: and that is to dress well, but in the most understated fashion ever.

Yes, I wear lots of black and straight slim cuts, but it's basically not about wearing the latest trend, but knowing your own body type and what suits your figure and what doesn't. One can wear the most expensive clothes, and still look badly dressed, or wear the simplest of things and look amazing if you just know how to carry your clothes well... smile

MOW that's  actually a really good point because regardless of the 'gucci' dress seen in the who's who paces, if it doesn't work with your body type, or comfortable, why push ourselves into it, it sounds like you learnt a lot in Paris (love)  email me some tricks ok?  lol

Thanks though very good point hot chick
