Which do you check first Facebook or HubPages?
I have a set format when I jump on my PC. I check emails, Facebook, and then HubPages. Then I may check Twitter, yet not very often. Do you have a procedure when you jump onto your PC?
Hi Tim,
I am afraid I am still not weaned off the views on Hubpages, so, that is what I check first, It took me many tries to get rid of cigarettes, and one day I will unhook myself from the number of page-views. I am working on it.
Then comes face-book. That is because most of my family is on it, and we often message each other that way. If truth be known, I often get caught going through the news-feed; reading, replying and/or saving pics or photos.
Only after all that, do I go to my personal mail, which is shrinking these days. I also have a couple more mail addresses and I have to check those out, weed the rubbish, file others for reading later etc. . .
If I still have time at this session, then I check out the answers on HP. I am now retired, and I live alone except for my dog, so my computers are always on and I alternate between chores, phone calls, etc. . .and sitting at the computer. I have one in what I elegantly call the computer room [in reality, it is more like a very ramshackle workroom; with one large desk, my sewing machine, a large book-shelf, a small TV, and all the corners filled with stuff that does not fit anywhere else!!] LOL!!
The laptop sits in the lounge, for when I feel like sitting in an armchair. Sometimes I take it out in the yard, or someone visiting might use that as I prefer to keep the desktop just for me.
Last thing at night, I reverse the morning format for checking the different sites, which means I check my HP account just before I walk away to my bedroom; and that is now. So goodnight to u all who still have light and sunshine to keep you awake!
I call my PC/Study my 'Think Tank'. It is where I allow myself to 'Go Bananas' sort to speak. Anything goes. I need to manage my time better like you do. I go in waves by days instead of hours in the day. Chores pile up that way. Not recommended :-)
HP, Adsense, Analytics, Amazon, Facebook (maybe - too time consuming), Street Articles. Then my other affiliate accounts if I have time.
I go through the e-mails first, mark up the ones I want to go back to and delete the rest. I'll look through the notifications on Hub-pages, see which ones catch my eye, plus any on the list and knock out duplicates before going through my own visitor figures. Any that need attention get 'treatment'. I might even do a new one if i'm not busy writing (book/s).
Facebook is a non-starter for me. I have a profile page but abandoned it because I could never do any amendments (had a go but they didn't seem to 'take'). I am on LinkedIn, have my own web site (Northworld Saga Site), Twitter, two Amazon Author Pages (amazon.co.uk and amazon.com), My Book Buzz and one or two other sites I'm in touch with. So why bother with Facebook?
I always check emails first, then hubpages, then my blogs and other links. After that, I will check facebook (but may not be daily).
I spend more time in reading articles and news articles.
I think that is smart reading and keeping current Venkatachari. I haven't ventured with a blog yet. Is that a lot of work to initially set-up? Maintenance? I have two email addy's. One family & friends and another for the rest. Works better for m
No. It does not involve much set-up. You can simply register for a blog and then start posting. You can keep on customising as and when you find time and the need.
Before, it's email, FB ^ hUBpages
NOw, it's hubpages, email, FB..
It's changing..
First I check my blog stats (seriously; as I am a beginner), Adsense reports, e-mails, Facebook, HubPages and then other accounts.

Just curious, but does anyone have experience with this? How'd you do it? Did you tell Google the article moved somehow or do anything else fancy? Or did you just copy, paste, delete from HubPages, and wait for Google to catch up?Im guessing there might be some duplicate content penalties from...

Earnings in Hubpages are related to sales that have been made through ads displayed in our articles. The Ad programs, Hubpages and we, the authors are all waiting that purchase to take place. But as a newbie in this entire scenario, I am clueless about the way it all happens. I cannot find any link...
