Is an advertisement space for a free-hosted wordpress blog possible?

    Is an advertisement space for a free-hosted wordpress blog possible?

    My wordpress blog is not yet self-hosted. I even don't have a domain name of my own. However, there are blog posts from my archives that are actually supported by ads.

    How could it be? I thought ads are only possible for self-hosted wordpress site. And I don't even know how those ads got there!

    1.  WordPress.com is a business to make money and they are placing the ads
    2.  Your account has been hacked.

    That's all it can be.

    free hosts insert their own ads into your pages usually.  If you want to run your own ads, the only thing you can do is buy your own hosting package. You know what they say about free hosting...you get what you pay for.

    What's the URL of your wordpress blog? I couldn't find it in your bio.

    Free host means you.wordpress.com, right?

    If so then the ads are provided by wordpress.com itself. You got nothing to worry about.

      Thank you oyoboyon. I think I just freaked out. I was afraid some form of violation have happened. As of now, everything's gone back to normal. smile

    As you say "free-hosted WordPress blog". it is the reason for showing ads.
    But you will not get any revenue from there. To get revenue you need self-hosting and domain.
