Anybody here use a Roku box?

I've just gotten my own place and I'm trying to keep expenses down, and cable is expensive! I have a streaming Netflix account and I just signed up for Hulu Plus, and I'm thinking about the Roku box. Just wondering what kind of experiences other people have had with them. Thanks in advance!

I have one and love it!  I don't have cable either.  I have Netflix and Amazon Prime for streaming tv and movies, and it works out great.  If you have a fast internet connection, the HD quality is awesome smile

YES! We have two of them and use netflix and we love it.  We totally got rid of cable and haven't missed it in almost 2 years.

I replaced my four cable boxes with four Roku boxes about a year ago.  It is a great way to save money. You will need an antenna to get live TV.  Amazon is another service to try on Roku.  There are a lot of free movies and tv shows if you have a Amazon Prime membership.  Crackle and Epix also have a lot of free movies and TV shows too.  I sometimes miss cable, mainly because there is no way to watch live sporting events on Roku.  Overall I am very happy with Roku.

I don't watch much sports, so I won't be missing out. It really does sound great. Thanks!

We are currently trying to do the same thing. Hulu Plus works great on my computer, however, on our big screen TV, it seems to start and stop a lot. Buffering? I guess that's what you call it. Our teenage son thinks it's because the TV is so large. Netflix is great.
We haven't tried Roku, yet, but we are thinking about it. I just can't stand those enormous cable bills anymore. So happy you asked this question, and really like reading the responses.

I'm having the same issue with Netflix and my laptop. If I don't allow HD on it, it's smooth sailing. Works fine on my Kindle Fire with HD enabled, but my laptop doesn't like it.
