It all depends on the destination of course but if it is a holiday then a cruise ship would be my answer.

I love flying.  There's no better feeling than leaving the world below for a while.

As others, it depends on the type of vacation.  Cruising is a great way to see many different locations, or it can be a totally relaxing vacation where the journey is the trip.  Last May we took a positioning cruse from Miami to Barcelona with a stop in the Azors.  The cruse was 10 days with no land for 7.  I found this to be a wonderful vacation.

Anymore I hate flying as I feel it is so dehumanizing,  I really resent the intrusions modern security requires all for an illusion of security.  When I fly, I always will pay a couple dollars more for a direct flight as opposed to a connecting one, where not possible, I try and make the journey part of the trip as we did last year flying home from Barcelona.  Found an Air Lingus flight from Barcelona to JFK through Dublin, so we spent the night.  It was both more relaxing and quite an enjoyable stop over.

I prefer travelling by land. Either by air or sea I freak out. By the way, did you know there are cheap party bus Miami Florida - http://www.partybus-rental.net/party-bu … miami.html that offers cheap transportation? I think hiring them while we're on vacation is a great and affordable option.

My favorite way to travel is by train. I get to read and/or look out at the window. When I traveled Europe, it was the least expensive, and was able to enjoy seeing lots of beautiful countryside between countries.

When my daughter is older, I'd love to take train rides to VA to see my Mom, and west to CA to see friends and extended family. :0)
