Where Are The Best Beaches In The World?

What Are The Best Beaches In The World?  What is it about any particular beach that makes you believe it is the best?

Well I think they exist all over the world; in the heat of the summer, although I have not travelled world-wide, I have come to enjoy the beaches of Prince Edward Island, Cape Breton Island and Long Island. Not only are they breath-taking they are void of condos.
I reside in Florida, so I have great respect for some of our beaches also. Namely the beaches of St. Petersburg Area, Sanibal Island, Marco Island, Dry Tortugas Island and even Cape Canaveral Sea Shores. There are more.
In Mexico in the Yucatan Peninsula area there are wonderful beaches; I happen to love Isla Mujures beaches and the fact that can skin dive or SCUBA right off the beach and see some wonderful reef without a boat. Of course there are many islands where you can do this from; Bonaire comes to mind or even the more populated New Providence Island...
I could go on and on; although I have not travelled to Australia or for that matter South America, I could only imagine all their most beautiful beaches...

The best beaches in the world are those in the tropics, where the sand is white and the sea water is crystal clear. I went once to Cancun and witness for the first time the tropical type of beach that I had never seen anywhere in Mexico.

This types of beaches abound around the world at the tropics, 23 degrees north or south of the equator. Anywhere between these latitudes, you can find an array of sea life and coral reefs where approximately 1/4 of all marine life exists.

I don't think there is a "best" beach. It depends on a lot of factors particularly the time of the year at which you visit the beach. But if you are in Asia, you can try Thailand's islands and Malaysia's islands smile

There are so many great beaches around the world and I think "best" depends on one's preference. Best to me is one with a lot area of light ocean green shallow water so clear where you can see the sand beyond where you are standing, I believe it's safe for kids and oldies and snorkeling would be great and fun for all ages. The blend of blue skies, green trees, white sand and ocean-green water is incredibly fabulous perfect for a relaxing nature fun day. Asia has beaches like this, Philippines and Malaysia are my choices. Very beautiful question, thank you Phoenix.

The Florida Panhandle has sugar white sand and emerald green waters. Panama City boasted for years of having the "world's most beautiful beaches." Unfortunately, they have become increasingly crowded and cluttered with modern high rises.

I agree that it is hard to pick just one. I have been to many around the US and each have their own merits.
