Any of you ever heard of the KING TIDE?

I am presently down in the Keys and have just experienced this phenomenon. Very Cool! Here is our Marina Ramp being flooded.

Wow!  That's something!  Aren't king tides just really high tides? The fact it's a harvest moon tonight could have something to do with it. We've been getting really high tides and massive (for Lake Michigan anyway) waves - 8 - 20 feet high or so all spring and summer.
They've been issuing constant warnings about the dangers these phenomenon pose and to stay back from the water.  Many piers and sea walls have waves rushing or splashing over the tops of them and have for the few weeks. The picture above is from April. Now you've got me wondering what's happening out there.  Think I'll go take me a peek!  Stay safe.

Never heard of one, but that's an awesome picture! A hub about this would definitely be interesting.

No, I haven't, but that's not unusual for living in a landlocked state. Your photo is very appealing to me right about now.
