Hi, has anyone visited Chester before?

What is there to do in Chester?

What did you think of the city itself?

How long did you stay for?

    Where did you stay?

    Would you visit again?

    What were the people like?

    Thanks for your help! smile

Ummm yes - but it was over 30 years ago so I can't remember much! It was quaint back then - not sure if it is now!

I spent two six month stints in Chester in the early 1970s. There are city walls and a river and a pretty good zoo. And quite good shopping.

I've been to Chester, UK in May 2007!  Absolutely loved it!  Only spent the afternoon there, but it was fantastic! If you love looking at architecture, people-watching, Roman ruins, and shopping, you'll have a blast!  smile

Yes, regularly! It's less than an hour from me and a lovely shopping centre. The people are friendly, the town well laid out with wide pedestrianised areas and lovely architecture and there are some fabulous coffee shops.

The town is right beside the river Dee, a great place for a walk as a break from the city, alternatively visit the Roman ruins and walk the Roman walls.

I'm off there again in a couple of weeks time, can't wait!
