Hot Girls Increase HubPages Traffic

Updated on May 20, 2010

Hot Girls More Page Views

When I first started actually using HubPages I noticed that a large percentage of the top ranked Hubbers seemed to have pretty girls as their profile picture. Most of them were subtle, a pretty girl sitting on a chair, for example, but all attractive women nonetheless.

I even conducted an experiment where I changed my profile picture to one of two different hot girls I found in some clipart galleries. The results were negligible, partly due to the fact that in order for having a cute girl avatar bring any benefit, enough people have to see that attractive woman first.

Since I was getting little traffic at the time, and had a HubRank in the 70s, there was simply no effect. Ironically, I wrote about the experiment in a blog post called Hot Girls and Sexy Pictures on HubPages and that page ended up bringing a bunch of new visitors. Of course, most of them "bounced" away the moment they realized that there wasn't a big gallery of pics to be had.

However, the more HubPages experience I have, the more I continue to see the phenomenon. In the interest of giving everyone the best possible chance at getting lots of HubPages traffic, here is how to use pretty ladies to increase your traffic.

Beautiful Women More Clicks

The first thing to understand is that for pictures of pretty girls to boost your traffic numbers, you must first have enough people see those pictures. Otherwise, your hot girls pictures can't entice anyone to click on your links. That means that you'll have to build some hubs, get them linked, and build up a bit of HubRank before you see any increase in traffic.

Once you are drawing in enough eyeballs for your eye candy to work, it is time to figure out how to incorporate the hot women pics into your Hubs. The most basic method is to simply make Hubs about hot girls. Pretty Indian actresses seem to be very popular on Hubpages. Include some of the appropriate keywords like, Bollywood and Desi, and you have a traffic generating machine. Any other female actresses or models can work as well. Structure your pages as tributes or biographies if you are interested in being legit. Otherwise, just copy and paste a long line of pictures pictures and a paragraph of text or two about each. They might get flagged eventually, but they are so easy to crank out, you can build 10 for every one that gets taken down.

Of course, if you would rather write about something other than the pretty ladies themselves, there is no reason you can't still benefit from their presence on your Hubs. Consider this recent HubMob Hub that was listed as a "featured Hub" on the front page. The hub, about how to avoid scammers when giving to charities. It is an informational hub that provides exactly the information the title says. The trick is that after the Hub's text is finished there is a large picture of a girl in a bikini.

How does this work? The HubPages system uses the first picture inside of a Hub as its icon or thumbnail. Since there is no other graphic in the Hub before this one, the Hub shows up with a hot girl in a bikini next to it's title about charitable giving. In a list of ten similar hubs, which one do you think will get the most clicks?

In this case, the author went the extra mile to make sure the bikini girl is "relevant" to the hub by finding a model with the word "Charity" in her name. Nice touch.

HubPages Babes Increase Traffic, But Why?

In the end, a Hubber need examine to what end they want to draw in extra traffic with the presence of hot girl pictures. In some cases, more traffic might mean more ad clicks and therefore allow a writer to make more money online with HubPages.

On the other hand, people clicking to see pretty girls are also more likely to not bother sticking around long enough to read any of the text. However, using that extra traffic to increase HubScores and HubRank can help the author move up higher in the rankings and therefore have more of their hubs displayed on various lists or "What's Hot" screens. If those hubs are profitable or otherwise worth something to the writer, then the tactic has provided the desired benefit.
