What is the prime purpose of your writings?
Do you write for pleasure, to earn money or both?
Same purpose as my life. To honor my Savior by helping people lift their burdens to Him and soar with Him through life. That's a play on my name and a reflection of Isaiah 40:30-31
I write mostly for pleasure, but until I route out my tax info (still a college student, not in huge need of money yet) I can't make much cash. But I write so I can earn people's trust - tell me how many critics are honest, and write only to cash in. Tell me how many reviewers are bribed to give a higher score. Not me. I tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. I give credit where it's due, and I bring justice to both video games and film with a pen and keyboard, so to speak.
To be honest? Both are my purpose. I also want to share the things that people will benefit from my writings. In other words to help them discover things that may help them in many ways such as in health, financial, social, etc. It is a pleasure and pride when people leave positive comment on your hub and voted it up.
i write to express myself and to share information, if i earn any money from it, it is an added benefit. i love to write and would probably do so even if i had to pay to do it.
I write mostly for fun, to answer my own questions, to learn more about the world, and to document something that I plan to use as a reference later. There have been plenty of times that I was involved in a conversation with someone that lead me to go to one of my hubs to show them a graph or some statistics. Of course, I really enjoy the making money part as well. Hubpages is a great and easy platform to write on.
To educate. I write for pleasure but because I am interested in what I write about. It doesn't matter if I earn money for my writings, though that is a plus. What matters is did I learn something new?
I write more or less for pleasure and to pass the time, I enjoy writing about the things that I know. I find writing relaxes me and gives me a sense of accomplishment when something I wrote actually helped someone or they learned something they didn't know.
The money is always good but I don't think about the money when it comes to writing because when you think about the money it becomes a job and I already have a job.
Pass on enlightening information that benefits some in a way that improves their understanding of who God really is, understanding of themselves or improves their management of Fibromyalgia.
I have a few reasons. I do love to write and feel it is a great way to express myself. I find that if I do not write I feel a kind of gap or like something is missing within me. There's a nudging within to pick up a pen or type... I also want to be able to use my writing to educate other people with what I have learned. At HP, I like the comments and interaction with other members based on what we write too.
I write to share my geeky passions (bad movies and hard rock/heavy metal music) with the world.
I started writing in an attempt to unblock that creative side of myself that has been stifled for these many years. I've been encouraged to continue by some positive responses from readers and my stack of pennies slowly piling up.
I think I started writing to have an outlet for my poetry. Then I evolved into a need to reach out to others that have had the same experiences as I did, to let them know that they are not alone. To educate and give them hope. Until I realized that In a small way this was going to be part of my legacy, to give those that would have never have heard my voice to do so and, in return, to connect to them at a more personal level.
