   I have read all your comments and disagreements about my recommendation.  I respect all of you for voicing out your views.  I have nothing against men and women who want to be sexy or display their sexy bodies. I have no intent of disrespecting anybody. I have nothing against a person’s freedom of choice.
   
   However, this is my personal opinion and point of view about posting a profile picture.  A hubber can still look sexy but not in a vulgar way.  He/ she can still gain enough traffic to his/ her hubpage.  Here’s a list of hubbers who are sexy and have gained enough number of fans.
   
   1.    Isabella Snow with 2,247 fans
   2.    blbhhdcn with 774 fans
   3.    AD1988 with 657 fans
   4.    amu_ali123 with 654 fans
   5.    k@ri with 600 fans
   6.    Lady_E with 424 fans
   7.    Deborrah K. Organs with 239 fans
   8.    Angelfire693 with 30 fans in 2 weeks time
   
   You can check out the profile of Marisa Wright who has a sexy avatar but still projects a fun and positive image.  Her last profile picture was also sexy but it revealed her passion for dancing.  This is another good profile picture.
   
   prettydarkhorses, you already have a sexy picture.  You don’t need to post half-naked to gain enough traffic.  You have terrific hubs because you can write well.
   
   Try to look at the profile picture of other hubbers who have always gained 100 points. Some of these hubbers are Chuck, Patty Inglish,M.S., Bob Ewing, Uninvited Writers, Tatjana Mihaela, KCC Big Country, James Watkins, emievil, frogdropping, LiamBean, LisaHW, and a lot more.  You can also check out the profile of darkside, jimmythedock, Kathryn Vercillo, Princessa, Tom Rubenoff, etc. They all have nice and good pictures that reflect a positive image of the website. This is a good example of what I want to point out in this forum.  I mentioned the names of these hubbers because they serve as a model to new hubbers.  I do not expect them to agree with me.
   
   Sexy or sensual photos should be posted at the right time, in the right place for a right reason.  Pornographic photos in a hub can be posted but it should also coincide with the topic.  I don’t think that it is appropriate to post a nude picture if your topic is about President Obama.  Photos should be posted appropriately to your articles.
   
   There is an appropriate time and venue to wear something sexy.  Obviously, you cannot wear pajamas if you go swimming.  You cannot wear jeans if you are modeling lingerie such as the Victoria Secret.  TV shows and movies have sexy or sensual scenes but they are suitably portrayed.
   
   Indeed, I agree with an article comment of another hubber that is “unfortunately, people have been conditioned to live in a culture or world where flesh peddling sells.”  I appreciate those hubbers who stated their comments but still respect my point of view. 
   
   I have presented my recommendation with a sincere intent to help improve Hubpages.  If some hubbers do not agree with this, I do respect it. I did not also mention to ban anybody. No one has the right to say who is in or not. However, these comments do not reflect the majority of the hubbers.  This would be my last reply to this forum topic. I rest this case to the Hubpages Management to decide.

    Tina, I'm just having some fun. I agree that your profile pic probably doesn't have a lot of influence on your hubscore or number of fans. I've achieved 100 several times, and my pic is certainly far from sexy - it's just me! Personally, however, I don't care what anyone else wants to use as his/her avatar. I'm kind of a live-and-let-live type of gal.

          It's about sexually charged pictures in profiles. Whether or not, they are appropriate in HubPages community. Some are quite vocal and some are defending other people's reactions. Some are offended I presume and I've made a few statement with regards to it.
          
          But, people are bound by their own moral meter, so I guess, who knows really.
          
          Btw- no, a little darker purple, would be sexier though.

             If I understood the original poster correctly, it's not so much about disapproving of sexy pictures, it's more to do with presenting a professional image.
             
             I can understand what she's getting at.  A professional writer on HubPages wants the site to look like a professional writing site.  She doesn't want people reading her portfolio, then clicking at random on another Hub and finding the next Hubber covered in nothing but a strategically placed arm.
             
             However, HubPages is many things to many people, and not everyone here IS a professional writer.  Unless HP decides to change the way they do things, there is a place for people who are just here for fun, and that's part and parcel of the experience.

                I understand that. But, what point does it crush freedom of expression? Each person is different in their expression of feelings, thoughts, ideas and messages. What might seem offensive to one, isn't to another.
                
                I get the message about it being a "Writer's Professional" community, but you can't discriminate amongst writers. Everyone is expressing something.
                
                And, Yes- HubPages decides the only options for which is to be followed. But, it boils down to oppression of others, so monetary gain can be had.
                
                Just the fact that this conversation is even taking place is a problem in and of itself. But, I'll leave it at that.

                   It's not my point, it's the original poster's point.  I was just trying to get the discussion back on track, because IMO it's not about what's offensive and what's not offensive, it's about whether the site wants to present itself as a professional writers' site or not.
                   
                   I think that's a perfectly legitimate question.  My gut feeling is that the answer is no - HubPages is more diverse than that.

                      it is obvious that if you consider all the other bullshit that contributes to or detracts from your hubscore that this site is NOT just about writing.
                      I LOVE Hubpages BUT it is clear that it is NOT just about the writing.  If it was, then people who post picture galleries and people who cannot tell when they spell something incorrectly or make grammatical mistakes as well as people whose SECOND language is obviously English would not have such high scores.
                      I love Hubpages but --yes--it is obviously more (ahem) "diverse" to use YOUR word choice.

    what is it, I wonder,makes people get up tight about seeing naked humans - especially naked beautiful humans?  We don't get upset about dogs, cats, birds, raccoons, bears, lions, lizards (yes LIZARDS for pete's sake)  all are not only naked they do ALL their busness in public!  You go outside its sex city - dogs smellin each other, there - cats with their legs in the air licking!  all manner of birdys doing it right there in the air!  I'm not even gonna mention the plants pollinating indiscreetly all around.  Do we try to put knickers on all these?  wrap towels around em? at least?  NO.  clothing, in my humble opinion, is good for keepin us warm, giving us social status, distracting from our bad features, and should ALWAYS be optional.  In that way, perhaps all you dudes who are obsessed with women's globes and yearn for any kind of "wetness" on the female body, could get over it and come up with some really good conversation.  Then women wouldn't have to keep you slobbering long enough to get into your wallets.  Women could have conversations with you without stares at their breasts for the entire time.  Ahhh well. got that off my chest!

    Tantrum, I'm not sure I'm really as sensible as I may sometimes come across, but your contributions on here are witty and clever and creative (and often funny); and there are "personalities" on here that - like you - make things fun a lot of times.
    
    I don't think the OP is necessarily correct in assuming that people who may want to sign up here won't if they see (particularly) this recent run of "interesting" pictures.     When I signed up here it was because I was sick to death of the rigidity and lack of creativity that was involved in writing professionally for other people.  I wasn't looking for yet more of the same.  I was looking for a place where I could write what I want to write, how I want to write it, and with whatever picture I do or don't want to post.  I wasn't looking at, and sizing up, other people's avatars when I signed up.  Other people's work and pictures was, as far as I was concerned, their business.  My work and picture were mine.  That's what good about being self-employed and/or writing online.  You don't have that thing where everyone is watching what everyone else is doing and wearing. 
    
    I just think the people who have made this site as successful as it is have done something right.  Of the thousands and thousands of writers here, some are professional writers, some are professionals in other fields, and some are hobby writers.  If HubPages were to get too rigid (like another site or two I know of) they would likely drive away their most creative and talented people, and end up with just the kind of superficial mentality a lot of people came here to get away from.
    
    This seems to me like a matter of "if something ain't broke don't fix it".
