   if you close your account, do all of your hubs get deleted, or does just the account get closed but the hubs remain?
   
   or do you have to delete your hubs one by one. just something i was wondering. thanks.

      close your account=hubs gone. This IS my third me....
      You once called me 'shortsighted' for deleting my hubs. The thing is, I dont have adsence....or anything. Make sure you have copies......they are gone when you send that email. Hope all is ok?
      Oh yeah....if your sick of your hubs but want to stay on hp as cosette, delete one by one. You have 24 hours to click 'undelete' if you want.
      Id hate you to regret anything....you were right....

            sorry.....I only meant, if you intend to leave..,KEEP A HARD COPY OF ALL HUBS!!!! because once you send that email your gone and it sucks to start from scratch.  Im on my Wii, so cant do links.  I was dennisematt, then redneckwmn, now Justine..
            my point was dont loose your hubs for any reason as its a bitch to start over!!!!! Sorry if it sounded like I was badmouthing you, I meant your right and take your own advice....

    When you ask us to close your account, all of your Hubs get deleted at that time.  If you would like the save the text of your hubs on your computer, you would have to do that manually before asking us to close your account.

    In the past when a user has been banned (and not just on the forum), their profile page still shows, but they'll have 0 hubs and their fans will go to 0 too.
    
    I assume the hubs have been all switched over to unpublished, but the user can't access their account.
    
    If a person asks that their account be closed the profile page will show this: "Sorry that user no longer exists".
    
    If you are earning some money from HubPages but don't wish to participate in the forums or publish new material, I suggest you edit your profile information so you're not emailed when your hubs get new comments, or when authors you're following have published.
    
    Who knows, in a years time you might want to come back. And one site won't make all the money you need if you're intending to make a living from publishing online. Don't have all your eggs in one basket. Let your hubs continue earning passive revenue.

       Exactly.  If you're thinking of leaving because you're upset about the forums or the community, take a step back and remember that's not what HubPages is for.  You can display your writing and earn income from your Hubs without ever coming near the forums.  Your biggest audience is outside the community.
       
       If you're leaving because you're going to another site, then why delete your account all in one hit - leave them up and earning until you've got settled in at your new home, then transfer them at your leisure.  Or, if you're not going to use them at the new site, leave them here to continue earning. You don't have to touch them, just collect the check.

    if i did leave HP i would delete all my hubs because outsiders steal people's hubs and i wouldn't want to help them earn money off of my writing. that is the onliest reason i would kill 'em all, because i wouldn't come back, and i wouldn't start over. i know myself. i didn't mean to put you on the spot Justine. well how the heck are ya anyway haha

    Just out of interest where did this come from Cosette, you have a fair number of Hubs which must be earning you at least a little bit of money, why would you get rid of that passive income, and what could have affected you enough to make you want to leave?!

    I think it is best to talk to real people if things are getting to you.
    
    Killing all your Hubs would be very self destructive and a gesture that would be forgotten by everyone but you very quickly.
    
    Self protection should be your first concern.
