Why is it that people from large families(6 & more children per family) are the ones MOST
PREJUDICED, even HATEFUL towards only children?
If this is true, I would say because being one of many, they are used to 'battling' for things... Attention... Toys... Food... Whatever, while only children are more accustomed to having things given to them with little resistance. The former would likely see the latter as privileged and/ or arrogant.
You have NAILED it, sir. Those from large families seen only children as privileged and they WISH that they were as privileged.
I wonder... do you think there's something the only child envies about the kids from big families?
No, they don't envy children from large families. It's those from large families who ENVY only children for the opportunities they DON'T, WON'T & NEVER will have. No only child wants to be in a large family w/its poverty, squallor, & lack!
It was tough growing up the way you did, wasn't it grace... Things happened that never should have. Some of it you will never speak of. With all the power in the world, you would rescue every child who suffers this way. I wish I had that power too.
Oh no, I didn't have it tough growing up because I was a middle class only child w/myriad opportunities. I was discussing the plight of those poor children from large families who were relatives, classmates & a branch of cousins.
To what end? What is in it for you to be discussing these things? Are you seeking ways to comfort and heal those whom have suffered? Or are you, perhaps, feeling the sting of becoming aware of what you were shielded from all those years?
I feel that there should be MANDATORY birth control and that people should be sterilized after having at THE MOST 4 children. No child should be brought into world in want, poverty, lack financially, emotionally, & psychologically.
That seems to be a reasonable solution to the problem as you have presented it. My question was, what is your personal stake in discussing these things? What wound would you like healed grace?
I simply believe in small families because in such families children have THE BEST & GREATER opportunities for parental attention, education, & a great quality of life emotionally, financially, & psychologically.
Well, I stopped at 3 children, personally. How unfortunate it is people like me are being outbred and physical resources are running low. But what can one man do? Would you like to know about my wound?
Only children are oftentimes misjudged, even demonized & marginalized by those with siblings. However, prejudice against only children are very, even extremely prevalent in those from large families. read more
